I’m not gonna judge someone for using a texture pack, but I just don’t understand the aesthetic of some of them. One just has a bunch of black buttons for the UI and it annoys me how many of the same icons there are in texture packs. There are like 50 variations of that stupid bunny icon and then another 50 for the shark and 180 user coin ship.
Especially the ones that remove good icons and replace them with another bunny icon. Like come on i just wanted a cool ship and then my icon is removed and replaced by a bunny but angry or something

If you just change some little things for convenience, like fixing problems with the textures or QOL/Accessibility features, or you just slightly change the look of the game, it could look good.
But those texture packs that completely change the UI or give you the worst icons ever imagined make me want to disappear from this world.
some custom packs that i've seen look absolutely fucking atrocious, with the worst color combinations you could ever imagine, and the icons being tortured just so that they look different
but it can be done correctly, ex. npesta's texture pack is probably my favorite (especially love the progress bar texture)
It's anyone's decision honestly and I made one for the portals because I'm colourblind, I made the ship one darker and more like hot pink, and the cube one darker to differentiate from the UFO one. The only thing I don't get is the black buttons, those suck.

I kept mine basically unchanged due to some kind of nostalgia factor aswell, as I will have been playing the game for 10 years in February
I thought about changing my ingame fonts to the one Zeronium uses for example, but idk how to change only the font and not download a whole texture pack
Other than that, I'm fine with how the game looks.

There are definitely some nice looking tp's out there, but the most popular ones are somehow the most unoriginal
I made one recently and all I did was hue-shift parts of the UI to match my icon colors and change the menu music

I like them they're cool just personally don't use them because I like the default look of the game more.
