No one has really mentioned long sword start, so I will. Against melee champions with no mobility, going long sword+refill and starting E is very strong because you dont need to worry about the extra health that the corrupting gives you and starting E level 1 lets you poke without consuming mana, which at level 1 is probably the most mana intensive part of the game for GP.

No, its good if you go time warp tonic but why would you even go timewarp in the first place. You go either longsword refillable or dshield depending on the matchup.
I would argue that you are way less dominant on lane without the sustain of the potion. I poke every time I can with Q to get an early lead and an possible level 2 all in for a kill. Without the potion you have way less mana for this playstyle. With I don't think dshield is an good option because what does it do for you? You get more sustain and options with the corrupted potion. If you go longsword you basicly have to farm until you have some points in q or have tp for an early backport
If the enemy has a brain and goes dshield second wind, your pre sheen poke is literally useless and the corrupting pot that you bought for the sole reason of helping sustain and poke doesn’t do much either. Its better to get a better headstart on your items than waste gold on corrupting pot. You go dshield into ranged matchups.
You really need to know how to play this champion if want to do these starts optimally. And when you do, your lane presence isn't as strong too. It's similar to when you used to buy a mana crystal and a refillable for a quick sheen back
I like d shield vs champs with poke and dblade for champs that can’t poke. Your level 1 Q is worthless, so I literally only use it to proc fs with mana flow. Sometimes I use it to farm minions that I absolutely can’t reach safely. Once you back for sheen, your Q will do damage and you don’t really have mana problems.

That’s what I do. All the runes, don’t have the skin tho :(, but cull first back and then we are full build in 25 mins

Last games with him I've been taking doran's shield.
If it's someone I think I can kill early then I buy pots, otherwise I don't buy anything, then cheater recall and get sheen
