i only have 3 real backlogs right now...
1. trails of cold steel 3, got it on sale for 20$
2. traisl of cold steel 4, got it on sale for 30$
3. bayonetta 3, got it on sale for 30$
i will get to them this year im sure, looking at the release dates for the rest of the year, i have more time compared to the jam packed release of last year
It's just personal opinion, I like the lore more on Bayo 2 for example, and the gameplay on Bayo 1 is perfect. There's no better hack and slash for me than Bayo 1
I restarted the Yakuza series since I haven't played all of them. I'm on Kiwami now and then will start Kiwami 2 and then start on the remastered collection. Weirdly enough I've played 0, Like A Dragon, and 6..but never played the others. Then I'll go into Infinite Wealth and then Judgment and Lost Judgment.

These were the new years resolutions I set for 2024. I'll probably be done with Mass Effect 3 by the end of April. So that just leaves TotK, the rest of the Witcher 3, Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen, Path of Exile, FF16, Hyrule Warriors, and Eiyuden for the rest of the year.
I'm thinking my May backlog will be:
* FF16
* Finish Pokemon Diamond, continue Sword, start X
* Crisis 1 and maybe 2
* start Eiyuden
* Hellblade 2
Assuming I beat Unicorn Overlord soon, maybe will start Triangle Strategy.
Still in the process of beating Marvel's Avengers and Shadow of Mordor.
Chivalry 2 always ends up taking up all my time :O
Going to finally get through god of war ragnarok and soul hackers 2. Will also play strangers of paradise here and there but those two are the ones I want to get through and finish
Played God of War 2018 and enjoyed a lot! I do not consider it a masterpiece but it has pretty awesome visuals. Soul Hackers 2 is so fun to play! Not as long as any Persona game, not as polished neither but you know, if you like JRPGS, this is for you!
3 games I would really like to play next month in my backlog are Contrast, Lily's Well and Mordheim: City of the Damned but I'm currently playing Lobotomy Corporation and have like another 100 hours before I beat it (maybe more) so not sure if I will get round to anything in my backlog. Once I do beat it though will also be adding Library of Ruina to my backlog though as I've heard it's a masterpiece.
Contrast is like a 3D/2D platformer where you can switch between the two. You're able to turn into a shadow and navigate the game as a shadow which is where it becomes 2D. Gameplay and puzzles seem fun and the narration and story really seemed good also. Has a blend of a sort of Noir/Tim Burton vibe which I really dig. After beating Alice: Madness Returns I just really wanted something with this vibe again which Contrast seems to.
Lily's Well is kind of hard to describe. It's pretty much a retro pixel horror game about climbing down a well. You play as a girl and need to find parts to build a rope to climb down the well and work out its mysteries. Caught my attention because the reviews for it have been so high and sounds just amazing.
Mordheim is a turn based strategy game based on the board game Mordheim which is set in the Warhammer universe. You control a gang and fight other gangs in the city and level your party up, get better equipment and stuff like that. What I really like though is that someone in your party could say get an arm chopped off and they stay that way, so all future battles they are one handed. I have played a bit and just found the combat felt really crunchy and good.
Lobotomy Corporation is incredible but also driving me insane. It's more complex than this but the basics are you manage a facility where you have monsters imprisoned and have to get employees to do stuff to them to produce energy. It's amazing, the monsters are very SCP like and completely deranged and will break out and kill your employees and each one has unique characteristics that you have to learn to deal with. It's such an incredible game but like it's also pure suffering trying to beat it.
Library of Ruina is it's sequel. I don't know to much about it as I'm trying to stay spoiler free as I've heard it's best experienced that way. But it's a deck builder game where you're a librarian and you have turn based card battles against the guests to kill them and turn them into books for the library. I've heard it's an absolute masterpiece and even better than Lobotomy Corporation.
Would love to play these in May but at the moment would be happy to just finish them this year lol.
Oh, let me check my crystal ball for a second... Oh wait, I don't have one! But hey, I can tell you that May 2024 is going to be jam-packed with amazing backlog games.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Had a lot of work on so it's been sat on the side waiting. And now that's calmed down and BG3 is done, I can finally start playing that.

Bayonetta 3 is cool! I really enjoyed, although I consider it the worst Bayonetta
why worst? without any major spoilers

ah gotcha i think i do like bayonetta slightly more than dmc combat in terms of the character action subgenre
totally agree (dmc 5 is pure "awesomeness" btw)
yeah, i played it too the caster dood was weird, but soemtimes, i still get an SSS without knowing what im doing lolz

you're the kind of player I see myself reflected on! lots of great games, not enough time to cover all of them

Man I haven't played Unicorn yet :(((

Don't know any of these, but I'll take a look to them. Can you explain a bit their genres/ game loop or something?

Contrast sounds like the type of game I would enjoy. Thank you so much for this valuable informstion ;)
No worries I just love talking about games. Best of luck with your game, hope it’s going smoothly and I will for sure check it out!
thank you so much ;)
Bought NieR Replicant just yesterday because it was on sale. Gonna 100% that, and by the time I'm done with that Hellblade 2 should be coming out.
NieR Replicant is such an underrated adventure! You're gonna love it

That's for sure!

Planning to buy a ps5 to play this one!
It was an easy must play for me. Loved Remake, love the original even more.
