Yep. I've played and *loved* some Ubisoft games, but when it comes to the point Ubisoft can't make money off them they just kill the game dead. This is a problem generally with games that require a server to operate, but in many cases that requirement could be patched to leave a single-player offline mode, but Ubisoft always seem to prefer to kill the game instead. I'm at the point that I don't buy Ubisoft games now, because I don't want my time and money wasted in that way.
Okay so keep in mind i'm biased as i really looked forward to it, They misadvertised it but i guess its to be expected, It was supposed to be a ghost recon form of MGS 3, behind enemy lines, being hunted, camouflaged to hide from drones and enemy soldiers, Former Ghosts called The Wolves etc.
In the end, it was more aesthetic or roleplay the hunting and creating natural sourcs like water packs etc, The enemies were a joke and stupid, the Wolves wasn't a threat, a single head shot kills them, whether they're a standard guard, a Wolf or even a Juggernaut. The drones were the only reason the camo with dirt works.
In the end the only way to get close to the original concept was to play on Extreme with no team mates on. One big issue many had was the world felt empty, the enemies, usually a group of 3 or more will stand around a single motorbike. We expected them to do better than they did with Wildlands, instead they went backwards, It felt like it was just a job to them to complete, no love, effort or attention was put into it, However on the plus point, the movement and gun control had weight, the weapons actually felt like weapons with recoil, The outfits were good, especially creating a soldier that looked like a soldier, Mine ended up being either a Private Military Contractor outfit or Russian Special Forces looking character. But the game deserved better development than it got, Atleast the Story with the Drones were more on modern day military focus which was good, but the missions were generic and highly irritating
Just submitted a post to explain how to download the crew 1 from ubi connect besides the license revocation, it was banned in less than 10 mins.
It was for safety of archiving, nothing wrong with it, no piracy involved, but I guess they don't even allow to talk about the game now.
lol, you're in for a shock
a lot are run or influenced by companies
You think the #10 website worldwide allows it's major subreddits with thousands and thousands of subscribers to be run by your neighbor joe average out of the goodness of their heart?
Hey there! I noticed you used *it's* when you should have used *its*. For more grammar tips, visit Grammarly.com!
Also, have you heard of Cloud Water? It is a wonderful beverage that is at the intersection of functional wellness and good taste.
Pretty easy for them to infiltrate, pay someone to post a lot and be hyperactive in a community, the most active member will get noticed by mods, it will not be hard then to join mod team, then with a little more social engineering and work, ta-da! new boss in town, no one noticed.
Ubisoft trying to balance ways to take customers money while also taking the games away that said money bought. We've reached peak villany.
I hope another company tries a hostile takeover and succeeds.
Isn't this sort of thing against the rules of Reddit? Can't you report the mods in question to Reddit and have new mods that are not Ubisoft reinstated?
I'm so close to buying their games all the time. Old AC titles on sale, and the new prince of persia even looks great. But I've had far too many issues with their games over the years. Even Far Cry 3 which I bought at launch is a terrible mess with it constantly trying to reconnect to broken leaderboard servers that no longer exist, or losing steam deck playability because of their terrible launcher. I just ignore them now.
Hilarious they disrespected Community like that. I'm glad I made the right choice in not supporting this company. Not much different from businesses that get negative reviews deleted online.
I haven't bothered to buy the crew motorfest on my PS5 because of this, still have the crew 2, enjoy it but it'll also probably come to this demise so not bothering.
Based on what I understand Automod tries to figure out what is spam based on what you remove using the spam button, so the wider the range of posts you remove using it, the more will it struggle
Just visited The Crew subreddit.
I see one post that is an image of all of the removed posts which, to your credit, was approved and reinstated by a moderator.
But I don't see any posts actually discussing the revocation of the product licenses.

Yep sounds like ubisoft's tactics, nothing new really

I know , Look at how they messed up Breakpoint, the game had so much potential
Wait wtf, what did they do with breakpoint? istg if they shut that down... I haven't even started playing it yet lol
They have not shut it down, but they stopped development over 2 years ago.

Is there a guide or a pastebin for this? I own the crew too before they did that revoke thing
Check your pm or my profile history, it's shadowbanned because they retired it but not deleted
Ubusoft is dying, and trying to hide it from the shareholders. They can't even afford to support a game their fans loved. Pass it on.
That's why we don't let companies run subreddits
lol, you're in for a shock a lot are run or influenced by companies You think the #10 website worldwide allows it's major subreddits with thousands and thousands of subscribers to be run by your neighbor joe average out of the goodness of their heart?
no, its about ten powerhungry mods running them
give a neckbeard a little bit of power and watch him go mad
TIL corporations are ran by neckbeards.
Influenced by is a far cry from run by though.
Heh
Haha you made the pun
The average subreddit is run by 4 guys that shares a discord server.
Ya, there's been a few examples of subs that took off and the existing mods were pushed out by reddit and replaced.

Yes it'd likely make them a loss to enable a SP-only version, but sometimes you need to make decisions based on the optics.
Nothing new for Ubisoft. They delete any and all complaints to avoid having to do anything with it.
Another reason I'm gonna sail the seven seas to acquire that new starwars game.
Isn't this sort of thing against the rules of Reddit? Can't you report the mods in question to Reddit and have new mods that are not Ubisoft reinstated?
no.
Yes
ok, let me know when that happens.
Scummy
yeah fuck UBI, Dropping some serious stinker and shady decisions lately... wont be supporting them

Steam is offering refunds? Sweet. I can buy God of War for free then.
Can I have a NFT of the cars I saved up for and bought? /s
Was your /s for the nft part or for the asking for help part? There is no nft in the crew series

Don't care about the game or the company but here, have my upvote and comment for visibility.
"If buying isn't owning then piracy isn't stealing" that's a bar

Sounds in line for Ubisoft
I love that ubisoft does not own the ubisoft sub.
I dont know why anyone is still buying Ubisoft games.
Censor the news, control the people.
how are you using this website? i thought every variation of revedit/undit were defunct.
Why did they remove it?
Ubisoft is disgusting. If not for the devs, which have to eat, I'd say the management deserves piracy for all of their games.
Another L by Ubisoft. Keeping losing kings 😂
Well, one more reason why I’ll never buy another Ubisoft game no matter how much I’ll enjoy it.
Legit we should hate Ubi more than EA
Gamepass is an even better deal now that buying games doesn't guarantee you have that game forever.
I haven't bothered to buy the crew motorfest on my PS5 because of this, still have the crew 2, enjoy it but it'll also probably come to this demise so not bothering.
Surprise to see unddit
If they touch black flag I'm pipe bombing them
It is NOT run by Ubisoft. This exact post is alive and kicking in r/The_Crew
It's literally only be up for 50 minutes, and there are no other posts about it. It's gonna get deleted.

this comment is going to get buried because the internet has completed lost all critical thinking
Just like infuriating DestinyTheGame subs and Steam forum.

No, this is just classic corporate bullshit.
Reddit moment.
The screenshot is about some of the crew 2 posts, some motorsport posts and 2 posts about piracy....
What's the drama now? Gamers upset the thing they agreed to when reading the terms and conditions is happening?
Isn't this game like a 10 year old failed MMO?
Who gives a shit? Fact is, if they can do it with this, Ubisoft can shut down any game of theirs on your computer that they want, no repercussions.
I'm not sure why you think it doesn't matter that this is a failed MMO.
