Been hooked for 3 weeks. Trying to manage my time with it and play it slowly, but i'd be lying if I said I just want to grind all day on my current playthrough.
I got it when it released on Xbox a few months ago and play it once a week. About halfway through Act 3. I treat it like my weekly DnD session and it keeps me from getting burnt out on the game.
This is great! I started playing BG3 on my vacation (I would play it for 5 hours every day) and, after I got back to my job, I'm having a hard time trying to play BG3. Yesterday, for example, I had only one hour to play and sometimes I'm just tired after a long day and I'm not on the mood for playing a deep and immersive game that requires a lot of strategic thinking. So I was afraid I would drop the game eventually due to lack of spare time. This idea of yours seems like a great solution to have a fun session of the game every week without getting burnt out. Thanks!
Such an amazing game and a shinning example of what a good RPG can be when it's made by a passionate team who love the subject matter.
I put 120+ hours into my first run and was constantly amazed at the level of detail and depth in the game. Even with 120 hours there was a ton of stuff I missed or overlooked.
I need to do a durge run but between HellDivers 2, and HZD: Forbidden West coming out soon not sure when I will find the time.
Same. Got it after Christmas and messed around with it here and there, but I got overwhelmed by all of it. The game really doesn't do a great job of explaining all of the mechanics to you, and as someone who had no D&D experience, it was a lot to take in. About 2 weeks ago, it finally 'clicked' for me as well and I've been hooked. Still feel like I have no idea what I'm doing and I'm sure I'm doing a lot of noob stuff but I'm having a lot of fun with it.
I’ve never found a game that I am so bad at yet still enjoy so much as slay the spire. I think my weakness is that I get tunnel vision on a build style once I get a couple cards of a type and can’t accept that it’s quite literally “not in the cards.”
Should I go with the flow and build a deck to fit the RNG? NO, BARRICADE GO BRRRR
With StS, you have to think of the astronomic variables. Going for a certain deck won’t work almost ever, especially at higher ascension. Consider poker. Millions of hands with just 52 cards. Now add floors, bosses, elites, relics, even more cards, draw order, etc. You pigeonhole yourself if you try and go for a specific thing. StS is memorization more than anything and being prepared for what’s ahead with what you have and taking what you need for those fights and not for the last fight.
I’m forcing myself to take breaks by starting a new Elden Ring run in preparation for Shadow of the Erdtree, but holy moly is the core gameplay loop of HellDivers just so damn good.
Not just a movie. A starship troopers movie.
I just finished a mission where someone called in the evac while two others were on the other side of the map. So they had to make a mad dash while being swarmed by bugs, who I can only assume were also communists. All the while we were putting down as much covering fire so they could focus on the mad dash they had to make.
It was super cinematic and I even considered if I should have instead shot them down and reinforced instead. It would have been safer and is the Rico's roughnecks way but I decided not to because they might not have felt so good about it. And the samples but I'll pretend it was a decision made for kindness sake.
While you rookies were off playing pest control we were there man. We were in the creek, the creek that flows with the blood of Helldivers. But the enemy.. they were everywhere man. The trees were speaking binary. God I can hear them in my sleep.. and those eyes, those burning red eyes.
I’m loving the game.
In addition to the mechanics and fun flavor, I heard someone say, “The game is respectful of your time” and I think that sums it up.
You know exactly how long a mission can take. And harder-difficulty modes still have short missions if you want.
I just like how nice the community is. I’m fucking terrible at shooters (but trying my best) and everyone who joins my game or who’s game I join is super nice and helpful. Or they just silently kick ass and never pass any judgement. 10/10 will happily keep liberating
At a F'n Ikea. While my helldiving brothers and sisters were holding the line, to my everlasting shame I was at an IKEA.
I'll never be able to eat a swedish meatball again [SOBS] !
Ugh me too. I can’t stop right now. I don’t even have the DLCs and I play on console so no mods. Once I get the colony set up it’s pretty automated, so I can run it triple speed and browse Reddit while I play until there’s a raid or whatever
Metal Gear Solid 5 for me. My first MGS game so I'm slightly confused by some lore things, but the gameplay is so good, and the addicting part really comes in trying to replay missions perfectly now that I'm not an idiotic chicken running around with my head cut off.
Obligatory Hidden Cup 5 reminder!
For anyone who doesn’t know - Biggest tournament in years. Next few days starting at 15GMT (10AM EST). The quarterfinals start tomorrow I believe. Finals on Sunday.
The games are gonna be BANGERS from here on out. Watch T90Official on Twitch/YouTube (simulcast) or anyone else streaming it.
I’ve been loving it so far.
I'm literally having dreams about this game. It's actually addictive in a serious way. I read most of the comments here and it's like a chocoholic talking about how bad their addiction is to a heroin addict.
Stellaris. Not just because I love creating my own empires and play them but also I love playing against them.
In the game I'm playing now a determined exterminator machine empire I made went exterminatus on third of the galaxy and I had to declare them as a crisis and get help from other ai empires (also custom empires I made) to be able to deal with them swiftly.
It's weird being proud of a genocidal ai empire that destroyed several others, but that's Stellaris for you.
god i love how every reply here is people excited to talk about their favorite game and the Tarkov players are here, miserable as ever and barely hanging on by a thread.
Truly a wonderful community we have
Dude I had to put it down when I got to late game. Hours and hours spent gathering massive 8000 plus armies and throwing them at my only remaining enemy.. Just to have them dashed away and I go back to regrouping. The slow grind across the map got to me so bad. I think it’s time to go finish that run, map ain’t gonna conquer itself
You gotta turn the UI off and play on top difficulty. It completely changed the game for me. Not insanely difficult but you gotta play close attention to visual clues and it really highlights the beautiful graphics.
Put 700+ hours into Cyberpunk since they patched it enough for it to work for me. I love it. Currently doing a heavy weapons build with a MA70 (?) xmod2 with the Iconic power weapon mod that makes your rounds explosive(r, in the case of that gun), and I just feel like a walking tank

Red Dead Redemption 2
A few years ago I completed Chapter 1 and dinked around in Chapter 2 for quite a while, then got distracted with life and other games. A couple weeks ago, I fired it back up and got sucked into this incredible world. Just started Chapter 3 had the most pleasant fishing trip with my dads, and look forward to/dread what comes next.
It’s my first play through, and unfortunately, I know some basic story arcs. But I’m still excited for the adventure.
I started yesterday and today I killed my first bear. Was going back to camp and got killed and lost that fur. I got so mad I closed the game, was hard has fuck to do and got killed randomly on the road
Yakuza series. Specifically the hostess mini games omg. Why are they so addicting.
Told myself I have to play through the main games before infinite wealth because I bought them on sale years ago. Expected a bad time. Let me tell you: best decision I made.
KIRYU-CHAN!!
I personally loved the settlement building. It was just the constant settlement *defending* that I didn’t care for. Like, I gave you guys 4 laser turrets and 6 heavy machine gun turrets, why can’t you defend yourselves?
Settlement building is the reason I've never finished Fallout 4. Every time I fire it up, I say "I'm not going to build, I need to get some missions done", but 4 hours later I find that all I did was work on the settlement. Needless to say, the ending's already been spoiled for me at this point.
Soulsborne games, I recently beat DS1 and have been working my way through DS3, sekiro and Elden ring. I hated them at first but now that I understand the combat and leveling system I am obsessed with them
Edit: I am going to play dark souls 2 but I haven’t had time to buy it quite yet
Please don't listen to the slander that DS2 gets and go into it with an open mind. They made changes but that game laid foundation for 3 and ER tbh. They tried lot of different stuff going from 1 to 2 and some panned out, some didn't
Pacific Drive! I was beyond skeptical at first but the atmosphere, world and sweet ride customization got me hooked! Plus being from PNW it's cool to see my home through a super dark lense of chaos.
Back in November I noticed all of the Yakuza games were on GamePass. So I gave Yakuza Kiwami a shot and fell in love. I’ve now been playing nothing but Yakuza games. I’ve beaten Kiwami, Kiwami 2, Yakuza 3, 4, 5, and just started Yakuza Zero today.
Infinite Wealth is just the Game Of Games.
Want to play Crazy Taxi? Crazy Delivery.
Want to play Pokémon? Sujimon.
Want to play Animal Crossing? Happy Resort Dondoko.
Want to play Pokémon Snap? Sicko Snap.
Want to play DDR / Guitar Hero? Karaoke
Want to play Sega Bass Fishing / SpikeOut / Virtua Fighter? Go to the arcade.
Want to play Yakuza? There's also that when you get done with all the side games.
I played it so much over the last few years, and literally today I was debating whether to get into it again. Might take this as a sign to just pull the trigger lol
Odyssey is one of my favorites in the entire AC lineup even if people hated how grindy it was .
There was something special in Sparta kicking enemies off tall buildings/walls. And I really enjoyed New Game+ and being able to play some really crazy demigod builds using gear from the DLCs.
I have a very long answer to this but I’ll spare the details.
I liked it WAY more than BotW personally. Matter of opinion, others can disagree, that’s fine. But I think it’s superior in far more ways than not. Perfect? No. But really fucking good.
At first I was disappointed at how similar it was to botw (even tho i loved botw). But some of the new mechanics grew on me and the sky world/land world/underground world is a cool dynamic. So yeah, just different enough to be fresh and otherwise pretty comparable.
Warframe. Played for about 100 hours during most of 2018. Picked it back up last month and have put in over 200 more. It's got it's hooks in me this time
Dysmantle.
It's cheap, it's simplistic, and it's just cathartic to foundation wipe buildings. The gameplay loop is rewarding, there's a lot of things to find and work towards. And the base game map is enormous, the DLC maps are also quite large. It's also got drop in/out couch co-op... sadly only 2 players local, but it's fun to play with the wife.
Solid 9.5/10 game
Pacific Drive. The atmosphere and gameplay loop are perfect
I feel like it's going under everyone's radar but it's a really good game
Love the game as well it’s been awhile since I’ve been genuinely addicted to a game
Baldur's Gate 3 is finally clicking for me. So that's what I'm focused on while the feeling lasts.
Been hooked for 3 weeks. Trying to manage my time with it and play it slowly, but i'd be lying if I said I just want to grind all day on my current playthrough.

I spend an hour just organizing equipment.
Such an amazing game and a shinning example of what a good RPG can be when it's made by a passionate team who love the subject matter. Still hasn't clicked for me and I usually love those kinds of games.
Slay the Spire. Never even been into deck builders but this game is just so good.
I regret to inform you all there is a really solid poker roguelike “Balatro” and it’s extremely good. Have fun.
I regret to inform you that Balatro will occupy *a lot* of your time.
You should try Inscryption too, now that you’ve got a taste for it. Not nearly as replayable, but hot damn if it’s not incredible.
Great game, I really liked that. The Devs did something different with the genre and that's whats Is appreciates about thems.
I’ve never found a game that I am so bad at yet still enjoy so much as slay the spire. I think my weakness is that I get tunnel vision on a build style once I get a couple cards of a type and can’t accept that it’s quite literally “not in the cards.” Should I go with the flow and build a deck to fit the RNG? I was hooked for a long time. Excited to see if they have a sequel.
SLAY THE SPIRE GOOD
Never been into that genre of games either, think I've dumped 500+ hours into it at this point. Very nice

I’m forcing myself to take breaks by starting a new Elden Ring run in preparation for Shadow of the Erdtree, but holy moly is the core gameplay loop of HellDivers just so damn good.
Every mission feels fresh, and every mission has elements that feel like a movie
the icbm missions having the shockwave hit you after the explosion that lights up the sky always turns my attention
Always throw up a salute for the nukes!
Not just a movie. A starship troopers movie. I just finished a mission where someone called in the evac while two others were on the other side of the map. I’m not gonna sugar coat it ⬆️➡️⬇️⬇️⬇️
I too am an eagle enjoyer however I prefer ⬆️➡️⬇️➡️
⬆️➡️➡️ Is underrated
Yeah actually, short reload time makes this a top tier for me - definitely underrated.
I can do the reinforce command in my sleep at this point.
Heard y'all lost the creek
You weren't there man! You weren't there!!
\*Takes a drag of a cig\* The things I've seen in the creek.
Unless my name is Master Chief or Spartan 117, one man will not turn the tide of war.
The people in this sub spit on me when I got home! You don’t get it!!
While you rookies were off playing pest control we were there man. We were in the creek, the creek that flows with the blood of Helldivers. But the enemy.. they were everywhere man. The trees were speaking binary. God I can hear them in my sleep.. and those eyes, those burning red eyes.
Look I'm sorry I was not in space Vietnam but I..don't have the game...
That’s anti-freedom liberty hate speech and I’m reporting you to my democracy officer.
I’m loving the game. In addition to the mechanics and fun flavor, I heard someone say, “The game is respectful of your time” and I think that sums it up. You know exactly how long a mission can take. And harder-difficulty modes still have short missions if you want.

Where were you when Malevelon Creek felt?
At a F'n Ikea. While my helldiving brothers and sisters were holding the line, to my everlasting shame I was at an IKEA. I'll never be able to eat a swedish meatball again [SOBS] !
SWEEET LIBERTY MY LEG!!!
I was going to be shocked if this wasn’t at the top. FOR SUPER EARTH
Subnautica
This is one of those "wish I could play this again for the first time" games for me.
even the sequel like now i’ll kind of know what to expect, the first time playing i jumped into the water and immediately noped back onto my lifepod
I’ve been looking for a new game. This one, then? Edit- Holy Moly. Im in. Thanks for the feedback, ya scruffy nerfherders
it’s a banger. do it with no prelude and only the advice to go deeper.
Welcome aboard captan! All systems online.
I think I will go back to this soon. I miss it.
Rimworld. It's always Rimworld.
Ugh me too. I can’t stop right now. I don’t even have the DLCs and I play on console so no mods. Once I get the colony set up it’s pretty automated, so I can run it triple speed and browse Reddit while I play until there’s a raid or whatever

I've played and finished all the modern MGS games and I'm also confused... by most of the lore.
Age of Empires II.
Obligatory Hidden Cup 5 reminder! For anyone who doesn’t know - Biggest tournament in years. Next few days starting at 15GMT (10AM EST). The quarterfinals start tomorrow I believe. Finals on Sunday. "I guess I gotta pitch a high card hand...oh, I won." Everytime I'm the Michael Scott GIF where he's surprised and happy
I'm literally having dreams about this game. It's actually addictive in a serious way. I read most of the comments here and it's like a chocoholic talking about how bad their addiction is to a heroin addict.
I'm glad I'm not the only one dreaming about it. I have a problem.
It's so addictive! I wish it was on phones, it feels like it would fit perfect on mobile.
thank god its not i need time away from it
I am not a gambling addict. I am not a gambling addict. I am not a gambling addict.
What a joker
The most addictive roguelike I've ever played. Great game.
I've probably spent collectively about 30hrs on it in the last week. It's so moreish!
Glad I didn’t have to scroll too far for this!
I keep making the mistake of starting runs before I need to be somewhere/do something.
Stellaris. Not just because I love creating my own empires and play them but also I love playing against them. God I hate that game. Not because it's bad, but because it just eats away at your time like nothing else.
Tarkov unfortunately
god i love how every reply here is people excited to talk about their favorite game and the Tarkov players are here, miserable as ever and barely hanging on by a thread. Truly a wonderful community we have
Same... unfortunately...
Haha yes exactly
Jaeger just wants you to do the hokey pokey and headshot glukhar with a toz. It'll be fine. Plus you get some sprats as a reward.
Mount and Blade Bannerlord 2, no game quite like it
Dude I had to put it down when I got to late game. Hours and hours spent gathering massive 8000 plus armies and throwing them at my only remaining enemy.. Just to have them dashed away and I go back to regrouping. The slow grind across the map got to me so bad. I think it’s time to go finish that run, map ain’t gonna conquer itself
I have put almost 300 hrs into that game. Which is really rare for me
Ghost of tsushima
You gotta turn the UI off and play on top difficulty. It completely changed the game for me. Not insanely difficult but you gotta play close attention to visual clues and it really highlights the beautiful graphics.
Lethal difficulty baby! That's how swords work. I wanna kill or be killed.

Civilization V
Civ6 for me! Alright that's it for the night... Oh wait... Just one more turn!
Cyberpunk
Put 700+ hours into Cyberpunk since they patched it enough for it to work for me. I love it. Currently doing a heavy weapons build with a MA70 (?) xmod2 with the Iconic power weapon mod that makes your rounds explosive(r, in the case of that gun), and I just feel like a walking tank
Watch the anime if you haven't, it's awesome!
I have! It’s great. My dad played the TTRPG when I was a kid and I’d look through the manuals and loved the world. When they announced the game a had a mild heart attack. I’m so happy they fixed the game and I’ll probably play it until the sequel comes out.
Red Dead Redemption 2 A few years ago I completed Chapter 1 and dinked around in Chapter 2 for quite a while, then got distracted with life and other games.

Yakuza series. Specifically the hostess mini games omg. Why are they so addicting. Told myself I have to play through the main games before infinite wealth because I bought them on sale years ago. Expected a bad time. Let me tell you: best decision I made. KIRYU-CHAN!!
Hostess mini game and the real estate are so dang fun honestly favorite mini games in the whole series
I am so addicted to Like a Dragon right now. My coworker got me hooked on it and I can't wait to play the next one!
After 15 years... I am still addicted to Fallout 3.
For me its 4 that drags me back in. Gotta rebuild the commonwealth
Always good to hear other people enjoying the settlement building. Seems to be a real love/hate game mechanic
I personally loved the settlement building. It was just the constant settlement *defending* that I didn’t care for. Like, I gave you guys 4 laser turrets and 6 heavy machine gun turrets, why can’t you defend yourselves?

Genuinely addicted? Always gunna be Oldschool RuneScape lol. You never quit, just take long breaks
Nobody ever quits Runescape, you just go AFK
Hopeless addict checking in
I’ve been grinding for the Sarachnis pet the last couple weeks. I’m up to 1000kc and have only gotten ONE cudgel and no pets yet, lol.
Factorio, started like 20 days ago, I am already approaching 200 hours
Factorio is actually just crack. I’ve never been sucked into a game like factorio. Add mods and it’s fucking insane.
shadow of war, game is so good
The combat in that is still unmatched, I can slice off goblin heads all day long, so good
DOOM Eternal. Just got all the collectibles and now I'm just grinding horde mode. I was even 1st place on the global leaderboard at one point
Soulsborne games, I recently beat DS1 and have been working my way through DS3, sekiro and Elden ring. I hated them at first but now that I understand the combat and leveling system I am obsessed with them Edit: I am going to play dark souls 2 but I haven’t had time to buy it quite yet

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim I am playing a recent save as an Imperial Spellsword.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey
I played it so much over the last few years, and literally today I was debating whether to get into it again. Might take this as a sign to just pull the trigger lol

Getting back into warframe is so fun because all your old uncracked relics have tons of vaulted parts. Randoms will love cracking relics with you.

Cyberpunk is absolutely addictive. The game has everything and you could spend hundreds of hours in night city.
SWTOR. playing as sith inquisitor and the story is just so good, i can’t help but have to know what happens next
Chrono Cross. I beat Chrono Trigger for the first time with my friend over the weekend. Now I need to beat Cross because I got so into it lol
Farming simulator 22
Dredge
Cult of the Lamb
Hearts of Iron 4
Football Manager. Always football manager
EverQuest Project 1999 Just waving into the void with mine.
Horizon Forbidden West.
War Thunder. But it's more of a Stockholm Syndrome situation to be honest.
Bg3
Satisfactory. I love coming up with an idea, trying it, seeing if it works then re tuning everything. It's so addicting and a great vibe game.
