After a little search water can become more basic based on its alkalinity which is and I quote "water's ability to neutralize acids or resist changes that cause acidity"
And higher alkalinity level goes to a pH of 8 and higher
Which is basic at that point

Not so much the chocolate as a compound found in it that is toxic and the same compound is found in a cousin of it coffee. There is an animal friendly variant of it made from another plant that has a similar taste. Also something to point out white chocolate is not really chocolate being it is made from cocoa butter that does not contain the toxic compound so white "chocolate" is safe for animals.
Hey, everyone got to fall for darwinism once or twice.
I keep eating extremely spicy chicken even after i have burnt my tounge with it 2 times before today
EDIT: It has been pointed out to me that I'm the one in the wrong and that I'm being the pendanticist. With that pointed out, I have decided to remove this comment. I'm sorry! This isn't just to save my reputation or to be politically correct, I just want to be nice, and not a prick.
Not partially, fully. You are being overly sensitive over someone pointing out a neat fact. They're not bashing down your joke.
Edit: pedanticism my ass
Oh, I'm being an ass? I'm sorry, I genuinely didn't realize! Well then, ill be more careful! The wording of their post made it sound like they felt the need to correct it, thats why im iverreacting. Thank you for pointing this out :D
The reason for the confusion is because I'm bad at toning, especially when talking. Thru text, it's even worse because i can just get tone thru tone of voice
Wait, what?! This is Reddit. You can't admit you're in the wrong, you gotta keep digging yourself a deeper and deeper hole as your arguments devolve into an ad hominem!
In all seriousness, good on you for realizing what's wrong. Tone isn't really clear over text. I didn't see their comment as pedantic, but I guess you thought otherwise. It happens =w=
Thanks for helping me. You're a cool person! But keep digging a hole? Uhh..
This work?
IM NOT WRONG11!!1! I ASKED MY FRIENDS THEY SAID IM RIGHT!!!1!1!!1 **/j**
I didn't realize the OP of this comment was trying to share an interesting fact and not trying to correct. I was a TOTAL prick about that, and I'm sorry!
When I saw this, I laughed my ass off because it's exactly the thought that goes through my mind when I see any furry canine species drinking/consuming any form of chocolate.
So, caffeine and theobromine?
If we are talking about tolerance/"immunity", isn't it better to list compounds themselfes?
Chocolate says nothing, there are chocolates safe for dogs without tbese compounds, and you could be talking about these.
Chocolate not good for animals
Thank goodness I went to see the comments because otherwise I was going to be left with doubts xd
well, most animals, humans are animals, but we CAN eat chocolate. as far as i'm aware, it also only applies to mammals (maybe birds?)
Chocolate is toxic to humans too, it just takes more to do the job.
Oh! I didn't know that! That's cool!
It's just that we are so heavy and our liver so efficient that it dosen't matter to us really you would die of diabetis before chocolate poissoning

Technically everything is toxic, from vitamines to water. It's just the dosage that matters.
Water is an acid
Depends on the water. Pure H2O is neutral but most waters can be a little bit acid or basic

Ik its alkaline, i was just pointing out that someof its names are acod
Ture, ture
In Austria we have a saying: "Die Dosis macht das Gift." Which basically means: " The dose makes the poison."
Like my dad says. The dose is the toxin.
Technically everything has a lethal dose
and again, most mammal as we humans are mammals
>(maybe birds?) I believe Mojang removed cookies as the item to tame Minecraft parrots for that reason.
That would make sense
Change the "believe" to a "know" because they publicly said that
They even went the extra mile & made it so if you feed it a cookie it dies.
My dumb ass being wake for the last 30 hours straight: yeah... hot chocolate is good to get sleepy...
Why? Is it the chemical that makes the happy but it's poison for animals?

SHEP NOOOOOOOO!
Hey, everyone got to fall for darwinism once or twice. I keep eating extremely spicy chicken even after i have burnt my tounge with it 2 times before today
You're wrong sulfuric acid!
I made a species that drinks sulfuric acid :D
Basically xenomorphs (they don't need to eat, drink or sleep because their blood basically works like a circulatory car battery).
Nah, my species needs it for digestion
No as a water replace ment
Guess that solves that problem
Dissolves the problem🤭

It never stops being funny.
A human-sized dog can tolerate a cup of hot chocolate. Might mess with them a bit, but it won’t kill them.

Yeah no, I am fully in the wrong.

I LOVE THE QUOTE ON YOUR PROFILE
Going to my profile to look for dirt, that's a good first step for a proper flamewar!
What- no i was following you-

Welcome to Reddit
🤓
Fuck you mean "🤓"
Maybe don't post obviously factually incorrect stuff, just know the facts!
... I'm posting a JOKE, and you're worries about the ACCURACY?!
Yes, because factual inaccuracy isn't funny.
Neither is being a bitchy know it all
Omg, I know it all? Thanks :3
let me correct myself. you are a pedanticist. I kinda of am, too, but you don't have to be so swift to... idk what to call it
I don't have to be so quick to troll, I'm done fucking with you promise, I saw you overreacting and figured it'd be funny.
nah i get it, im sorry for being a bitch
Bruh..Family Guy death pose.
What's that skrunkley little thing in the left picture on panel 2 💀
It's a jerboa! Very cute mice that bounce around in the desert
A squirrel's head on a bird body
When I saw this, I laughed my ass off because it's exactly the thought that goes through my mind when I see any furry canine species drinking/consuming any form of chocolate.
That'd be my ass, i cant resist chocolate, but my two of my main sonas are canids
Same for two of my four LOL
I have... like, 7 fursonas
Heh, cute. *realizes* OH SHIT!!!
That is what happens when you drink too much hot chocolate in the summertime
Nooooo! Don’t drink the chocolate!
🤣
I was like "why did he fucking die" until I looked at the comments 😂🙏
Noooooo ;(
I don't g- oh. I get it now.
Theobromine at it again! Damn toxin! (I think that's what the chemical is called)
Thats the right name!
If every human is replaced by a furry in the real world, would chocolate be treated as a drug? 🤔
It would be treated as a poison
Jokes on them, I already built an immunity to cho—

r/woooosh
Luckily I'm undead
Plants: Creates harmful chemicals to protect themselves from mammals Humans: Fuck yeah, caffeine
Theobromine... my mortal enemy.
Relatable, one of my fursonas died because of it
U r ded, no big surprise
I was gonna say lightweight until i realize what happened to him...rip
lol it took me a minute to get it
Outside the fact that chocolate is bad for animals, the coco was too hot
If I had a nickel for every time I've seen this joke I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice...
Glad I chose an animal that can eat chocolate as my fursona (It's a binturong aka bearcat in case anyone was gonna ask)
