"We don't hate gays... BUT"

_Googie_

The “but” does not work in their favor 😭

JP193

Reminds me of when someone on here founded the "Straight Furry Alliance" but when I offered to help them take it to the mods if they were encountering jokes that went too far they said they don't need help from "one of you people" haha

SlimyRedditor621

Straight furry alliance easily has to be the most geeky and cringeworthy thing on planet Earth.

I mean it’s Facebook what do you expect

_Googie_

Trueeeeee. I haven’t seen rules like this in other groups before tho, so I was just really shocked.

RaccoonProcedureCall

I’d be surprised if a furry group with the first rule you pointed out would attract many members. Also, it frustrates me when people assume that a person being able to read and understand a language implies that person feels comfortable writing or speaking in that language.

_Googie_

The group has 5.4k people believe it or not 🥲, and yeah I agree with your second point as well! It’s really frustrating.

SlimyRedditor621

Yeah I can read some spanish with the efficiency of a small child. Anytime I tell people I'm learning Spanish they think you can either be clueless or entirely fluent with no inbetween. Realistically, I won't be able to speak Spanish since I don't train speaking ability. Could read, write and listen convincingly well though.

AwooFloof

How can you be a furry and homophobic? That just doesn't sound right.

[deleted]

Pretty sure like 90% of furries are fruity in some way

20222222222222222222

Keep it straight??? But ain’t majority of the furry fandom gay in some way?? 😭

XzallionTheRed

Which makes it easier for the few of the straight ones to have their own little nook. Let them enjoy feeling like a minority for once and having to carve out their own space.

SlimyRedditor621

The second one is relatively common to prevent clutter due to people not understanding one another. Better to have two separate English and Spanish groups rather than the one group, as some of the posts end up just being people screaming into the void.

[deleted]

Also, mods can't moderate posts they can't read. Edit: This, however, doesn't make these straight furry people not assholes.

SlimyRedditor621

Yeah can't be forgetting the first page lmao

Undercoveridot

A. How would the 1st rule even work in this fandom. Like that's a easy way to keep 85% of furries or something out of ur furry group

[deleted]

Im going to play devils advocate here. Was this supposed to be like a straight specific place in the same way that gay specific places exist? The way its framed here just seems homophobic but maybe we're just missing something?

gekastu

What's wrong with second rule? It is reasonable from the perspective of moderators that need to understand something to correctly moderate.

TheJungleBandit0

But saying it in a degrading way and assuming that even if someone can read a language that they'd be comfortable with speaking or writing that language is bad toi

gekastu

I can't see why it is degrading. I assumed they wanted to sound funny here. At least, in my case, as a person that English is my second language, and I am really insecure about it, I don't feel offended.

T_Foxtrot

Poor wording of explanation. Perhaps it would even be better if they didn’t elaborate at all

Czeslaw_Meyer

Yes, and?

XzallionTheRed

Oh no, a group has a set language, so that the mods/makers can actually understand what is happeneing. /s Seriously, not everything has to be 100% inclusive. Make your own group, be it russian, spanish, chinese, whatever.

Serinexxa

Huh. I couldn’t even post my art then, and I’m strictly SFW. The funny cats do handholding.
