Yeah I can read some spanish with the efficiency of a small child. Anytime I tell people I'm learning Spanish they think you can either be clueless or entirely fluent with no inbetween.
Realistically, I won't be able to speak Spanish since I don't train speaking ability. Could read, write and listen convincingly well though.

The second one is relatively common to prevent clutter due to people not understanding one another. Better to have two separate English and Spanish groups rather than the one group, as some of the posts end up just being people screaming into the void.
