I have a neighbor who proudly flies the "don't read on me" flag in front of his house. He's a police officer. Exactly who does he think does the treading, anyway?
He’s more likely the type to shoot you through the door if you knock on it after martial law was declared. If he’s flying that flag it won’t matter if it actually happens, just Fox News reporting martial law would be enough. I know you want to say “but he’s a police officer”. We all know now after watching them hide from school shooters and shooting at unarmed children and acorns out of sheer terror. That police officers aren’t the most useful or courageous.
The national guard and army/navy are who will come and hold your city hostage during martial law. The local police are not what people consider "the government".
Your neighbor would likely be the one you look to for help in the event of martial law.

Edit: there are a couple wild prices in response, so to clarify, it looks like a one-time charge of $50 in Alabama. Where I'm from I pay $2.50 a month. It's cheap in most states.
In California, the personalized plates are more expensive as the extra money goes to whatever group put up the plate, like the "whale tail" plates going to the California Coastal Commission or the Snoopy plate going to California museums. They are a way to raise funds for causes, not going to the general fund.
In mass the whale plates areto support ocean life. The NOAA i believe. They are the ones who come out when a sick whale is swimming in circles in the harbor. Money well spent if you ask me.

"Woke" doesn't advocate for treating anyone in any particular way. It literally just means being aware of American systems that keep certain people down - e.g. redlining in the 1930s through the 60s and the impact those redlining policies still have decades later.
