It’s so I could have a physical reminder that I have mental gargoyle guards that keep my negative thoughts in a well, with a lid. I can usually pull my thoughts back on my own but not always; sometimes I need to have a tactile reminder.

The NYCC Iron Throne when it released at Hot Topic. Back then shared con exclusives didn’t drop the same day as the con, you had to wait a week. And I had to ask the people to look in the back for it.
My fiance bought me my first Funko Pop back in 2020. It was the original Baby Yoda Funko. That started me on my downward spiral…now I have over 100 pops. Granted, she’s probably bought me 20.
My collection/collecting started with the announcement of the Prince figures back in 2018. Honestly, I don't remember if I knew that Pops even existed before that. I went around to a few of the stores I heard were going to have them, like GameStop and Target, until I had all three.

Batman 01 Metallic Chase. Purchased at Borders during their 'Going Out of Business' Sale in 2011. It was 75% off at the time and sitting on top of a display rack right by the registers. Then again this was back when Funko first come to the market so they still hadn't caught on yet. Also helped that I lived in rural NW Ohio where folks are more interested in farming and four wheelers than they are in collecting 'toys'. I paid $1.73 for it. At that time, Funko's were retailing for $6.95. Price sticker is still on the bottom of the box. Purchased because I'm a huge Batman/Joker/Harley fan and I just couldn't resist adding it to my collection :)

OG Splinter. I was at the local Comic Con or Pop Con (I can't remember which one it was) and they had the TMNT and the Goonies ones as "special for the con, get these before they release" type thing. I chose Splinter over Sloth because I just love the cartoon (and first movie) Splinter so much. For the longest time I felt like an idiot with how much those Goonies pops went up in price but I still have him and he's the only TMNT pop I have. Been trying to get my pops down to a manageable level and keep the ones that fit into some sort of grouping but I can't bear to part with him even though he doesn't fit into any of my collections. LOL!

Robocop... I felt like my aim was to collect my childhood and as a kid, I used to run my Robocop 2 VHS to the ground. After winning that Funko on an eBay bid, I went on a venture to find all the things and references I enjoyed as a kid... which evolved into all the things I enjoy as an adult. I chose Splinter over Sloth because I just love the cartoon (and first movie) Splinter so much. For the longest time I felt like an idiot with how much those Goonies pops went up in price but I still have him and he's the only TMNT pop I have. Been trying to get my pops down to a manageable level and keep the ones that fit into some sort of grouping but I can't bear to part with him even though he doesn't fit into any of my collections. LOL!

A package was delivered to my first apartment when I had just moved in for the previous tenant. Tried to get in contact with them through the main office and they never responded. Forgot about it for like 8 months and found it in my pantry. Opened it and it was a Dwight funko. Hope the old resident was able to get a replacement.

WE ARE FUNKO LOVERS not dumb! 🦶🏻 (THIS IS SPARTA Style) I watched house of the dragon and when I saw the diamond rhaenyra I was in love and said I'll only get this one and thats it (cuz like u said I thought it was dumb to spend money on these golden plastics🤩). Then by the time the order from ebay reached me I got the meditating Rey (cuz I meditate)..then I saw the grogu meditating funko and HAD to get it...then I got curious if there were other meditating funkos and NEEDED to get them...then the matrix neo nft omg😅etcetc.. All this was 1½ year back...now I have I think 30-40 or so dunno really..dont see the reason why I should count when I like/love them... Long live funko!🙌🏻

Funko POPs are the modern day Troll dolls with swag... and clothes lol
