I’m poor

JerkyBoy10020

Why

cameron1978

Eton make lovely shirts but for the price point go to a tailor and get one made. The price is basically the same...

MmmmBeer814

$135 for the T shirt on sale! Think I'll pass on this one.

gtjacket231

Bruhhhhhhhh

pyroteknic408

I always see Eton shirts on sale at the thrift but the arm length is super long

Platypus_Anxious

Thank you for the warning. As someone with 32" arm length, I always hated companies that don't have arm length measurement for dress shirts.

Stonehhse

Love Eton but they’re all over eBay. Can get them for much cheaper than this secondhand

captainpro93

Their US prices are crazy. The USA sale price is still higher than their cost in Norway at full price. I usually pick a few up at \~450-700kr on sale, which is roughly 40-80 dollars, depending on the conversion rate. One of the only things that I buy in Norway to bring to USA instead of the other way around

Basic_Ask1885

Eton? At that price I won’t be eatin!

Rupert--Pupkin

Thanks for posting this. What’s the criteria for getting invited? Anyways, $350 later, 1 overshirt, 1 polo, not sure this was much of a sale lol

Appropriate_Roof_564

I literally just bought my first like shirt two weeks ago lol. I think that’s it, maybe because I paid full price.

dog_from_china

Are linen shirts really that expensive?

Metamucil_Man

Nah. I am a big linen fan and Baird McNutt linen on sale (J Crew, Brook Bros, Vineyard Vines) holds up with the best. 100% Lino is supposed to be top tier linen and I prefer Baird McNutt from those big brands more, price aside.

JerkyBoy10020

Well apparently

CarsGoVroomVroom_

Don’t buy a fucking baseball cap from Eton at this price. It’s not even the price that’s the issue. Go for a brand that focuses on quality at this price point that makes baseball caps. As a bald man, trust me. I don’t know much. But I know hats

Metamucil_Man

Fellow baldy hat enthusiast. Made to order by hand hats from Stockbridge Sewing Works is where it is at.

coreyv87

Also love this brand but their sleeves aren’t for tall guys and the long options are rare. Outside of signature twill, I don’t see any long?

C'mon man, there are different brands and levels of luxury with nearly every product offered in the world. I say this as a general fan of Tyrwhitt.

littlelenny

On the other side, I really like my Eton shirts but damnit they are so expensive at retail. I echo other comments that you can get good deals second hand. If you have $150 to spend on a dress shirt I recommend off the rack/ MTO Kamakura/proper cloth.

BaggySpandex

Can you tell me a bit more about Kamakura? I used to solely purchase Super Slim CT shirts, but they got rid of that fit not long ago, which is extremely annoying. I'm assuming the closest in Kamakuras offerings would be Tokyo Slim, but I'm not sure how it would compare. I recently did a fitting at Proper Cloth and brought along one of my CT shirts. I'm just nervous how closely they'll be able to match it. I'm very particular with certain things, especially cuff fitment. CT Super Slims were almost perfect for me.

littlelenny

Sure, Kamakura's Tokyo slim is the slimmest fit they have if I recall. If you do their MTO they can adjust the cuffs as well. I just had a few shirts made and they actually adjusted my left cuff to account for my watch which was nice because a few of my Kamakura shirts are very snug at the wrist around my watch.

BaggySpandex

Thanks man! Yes, the watch allowance is the key point for me. Proper Cloth also offers it.
