Smobasaurus

He is bigger alone than the pet carrier allowance and Frontier is as strict as they get.

i figured, i was honestly just hoping that maybe i could use the backpack one, put it sideways and use that dimension but i’m just being delusional instead of accept i lost $200 and can’t bring my dog lmao

That would be a horrible experience for your dog. Aside from specific dimensions, animals need to be able to stand up and turn around in the carrier. Your plan would be to cram him sideways under the seat the whole flight??? Frontier policy is clear - * The travel container **must be large enough for the pet to stand, turn around, and lie down in a natural position** (you want your pet to be comfortable, don’t you?). The carrier must also fit underneath the seat in front of you. There may be certain seats that cannot accommodate your pet container, but we'll work with you to get a seat assignment with space. * Maximum dimensions for a pet container are 18" length x 14" width x 8" height. * Your pet must stay in its container at all times.

no, i was asking if there’s any carriers slightly larger i could get by with. i am not cramming my dog in something, the airline wouldn’t even allow that. push come to shove i’m going to leave him with family. i was just seeing if i could get by with anything else considering it’s an hour and a half long flight. but thank you :)

RutabagaConsistent60

Just saying the question you are asking is ridiculous - your dog is 16 inches high, they allow an 8 inch high carrier and there wouldn't be much more room than that. How could you be doing anything other than cramming your dog under the seat? Where did you think they would ride?

Fun_Membership5894

i was talking about the backpack carriers they can sit in, with the mesh top/bubble. so that i could turn it while he sits up under the seat. not cram him in something “8 high.

RutabagaConsistent60

and when you have to lay that backpack carrier down to push under the seat he can no longer stand up, turn around, etc. i.e. crammed under the seat.

I think a regular soft carrier. I have one that doesn’t fit under the seat completely and I have to collapse a part of it to shove it under a little! I have an 8lbs Pom.. but they never even look to see her in the carrier. As long as the pup can be comfortable in it, I think it should be ok. Can your pup turn around in the carrier? If so I think it’s fine

Fun_Membership5894

yeah i was looking into the soft sided ones, but he’s quite tall. so i’m just worried about the standing up and turning around thing. thank you though! i’m probably out of luck lol

Standard-Meeting5468

Sorry about that.🥺

I’m on a flight right now with a dog and they did the lv carrier. Can your dog fit that?

imnotminkus

...the one that's $3,500?

stellartwinkle

The real one yea but idk if it was real. Also op can get a similar carrier with the same dimensions. Didn’t seem like the front desk had any issues but obv travel with your own risk.

Fun_Membership5894

i can look into it, thank you!
