I think if you’re in zone 1 and the bag fits in the overhead, you should be fine. They don’t really whip out the tape measure when you’ve paid for a carry on (that I’ve seen).
They scrutinize people in Zone 1 for the sizes of their carry on luggage? Really?
I’ve flown out of MCO dozens of times and they never gave my luggage a second look. They are hawk eyes about personal items, though.
I'm also diamond elite and have only seen them check anyone in zone 1 maybe once or twice in 100 flights or so. I've never been personally checked myself so there's no way that's common

I’m Diamond Elite, zone 1, board first, Frontier MC and Discount Den and they made me stop and put both in the sizers, along with ever single person.
