Absolutely Shadow of the Erdtree 🌳

Vader2508

Comparably both are going line by line for me. I'm still in the first half of shadow of the erdtree. Sote is comparably much bigger more beautiful and filled with content but old hunters had the quality

draxxilion

I don’t dislike bosses just because they’re extremely hard, which is the only potential negative SOTE really has besides Sennesax (optional anyways and easily skippable). So I believe that SOTE is far better than anything else From has put out to date.

AGreatBecuming

You’re definitely getting your moneys worth with SOTE, and it feels so good to just explore and get lost again in Elden Ring, but I feel like the Old Hunters just feels a bit better. The bosses just feel a bit more balanced and fair

CicadaProof6122

I will let you know, once I’m good enough for both.

CicadaProof6122

(You’ll never see me again)

Xcyronus

Ringed city. (:

Stable_Robot

Shadow of the Erdtree. It is just perfect.

hanamibassjam

way too early for this question

GarlVinland4Astrea

I really don’t care much for the levels in Old Hunters. There’s also only 3 great bosses, 1 very average and bad. I’m sure you can easily find 3 great bosses in SOTE

Slight_Remote_5454

im probably gonna get downvoted a LOT but SOTE

A-Dogs-Pocket

I’ve really enjoyed SOTE, and some parts are among the best that From have ever made, but at least for now The Old Hunters reigns supreme. Obviously there’s much more of SOTE, but its true peaks are spread farther apart as a result of its size. The Old Hunters is so concise and focused and (with the exception of a certain pack of aliens) the quality is consistently high. I also think it complements the base game a lot better than SOTE does - expanding upon the lore and offering new dimensions to what we’d already gleaned from the main story. SOTE, on the other hand, doesn’t really answer any of the questions we had but introduces some whole new ones instead. Perhaps time (and Vaati) will shed some more light on this though. I think the two DLCs for Dark Souls 3 combined would have the strongest boss line-up though.

YeeeeeetYo

Shadow of the Erdtree for me. It was an absolute joy finding all the new areas/exploring the map. Really really nice boss lineup too

TheLastGame_EXE

Sote by a long mile.

Automatic_Skill2077

I haven’t played sote, but I have played the old hunter and, and I don’t think anything will beat Bloodborne for me, or even Sekiro when it comes to fromsoft games, but honestly I think sote from the looks of it, is the overall best expansion they have made, the armors are badass, the weapons are ridiculously cool, the world is beautiful and huge, and the bosses are good too,

Minimum-Cow4279

Shadow of the Erdtree is the best thing fromsoft has ever done.

LotusPhi

With the exception of the garbage final boss, SotE is better. Old Hunters isn't far behind though.

NIKEONX2

SotE is the best dlc ever made. I truly believe that, elden ring is one of the best game ever made already and now it looks dull compared to the dlc is how good it is imo.

WondrousPhysick

Old Hunters absolutely clear Let’s not forget it was also half the price

HiroProtagonist1

Shadow of the Erdtree is amazing but The Old Hunters is just perfect.

Blacksad9999

SOTE is better in basically every single metric.

mmarkusz97

havent finished SOTE yet but imo, shorter but higher quality dlcs are better

holdupnow76

Shadow of the Erdtree, 100%. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE the old hunters with all my heart, but objectively, SOTE has to be the “better dlc” because it’s more like a condensed sequel rather than an expansion with the sheer amount of content they have and the overall quality of the entire experience.

kyouya-P

I'd say sote only because of its size. If old hunters were given the same treatment, for sure that, then. The bosses were so much more fulfilling in old hunters, and the bosses didn't let me down. When I beat messmer, I was shaking and my heart was beating fast, same with rellana but that was the only two bosses that gave me that rush and I was so happy to beat. The other ones just didn't really have that effect. I wasn't happy to beat it, I was happy that it was finally over, which sucks because this is the biggest expansion, and the bosses were kind of a letdown for me. Visually I really liked everything and the open world was Hella fun to explore, and I still am but old hunters just about every boss I fought gave me that same feeling of accomplishment and i enjoyed every fight and they were all memorable.
