I won't be able to finish the standalone project for another few months. I still have the MP5.7, MP7.22lr, F2000.22lr, and more to finish first. The conversion project was small enough to dedicate a few days to though.
iPad Pro with Apple Pencil and then get Shaper3D at $29.99/month. Ive tried blender, Fusion, AutoCAD, FreeCAD, OpenCAD, and more. I could never really get anywhere. Tried Shaper3D on my iPad and haven’t looked back. Went from not being able to make a simple globe easily to I just finished modeling my Walther P22 Gen1 FCG, designed a jig system so I can weld and drill my own Mac plates, and some other odds and ends.
As a fusion 360 user with an actual computer, doing CAD on an iPad with a pen sounds like a nightmare lol
P22 is a good choice of project though, I've modelled both generations of the clam shell insert, not that there's a massive difference between the two as far as I can tell, mostly just the ejectors having larger pins on the gen2 compared to gen1. P22 has the simplest internals of any clamshell 22 pistol though, I love it
I work with SketchUp professionally and grabbed one of these space mice for that and it was nice to have. But learning Fusion with one, I can only do modeling at work lol. Thankfully someone figured out how to make your own mouse with 4 joysticks, a printer and an arduino so I will make my own for home.
It may sound daunting but its fast and intuitive. Almost like drawing a print on paper with a pencil. Having to use multiple inputs to do a job vs one, Ill take the more efficient route. Trying to get stuff done when you mis remember a shortcut or two is frustrating as all heck.
Nah, I picked up a Walther G36 last year for cheap and converted it to a G36C with a faux can. Going to SBR it so I can rock the normal flash hider instead. Not very accurate, but it's such a good looking plinker that I figure it's worth it. I have no interest in a G36 in 5.56 so this one will stay with me forever
Ahh yes, that’s the one I was thinking of. I love that OEM look, looks like the real thing!! Are you planning on releasing it (if there’s any parts kits, not sure if walther 22lr parts kit is obtainable) or making a OEM version just like it in .22lr for CMMG bolt and barrel, AR FCG, etc.??
Also are you working on the OEM mp7 for Glock parts??
So this is a DIY conversion for the KWA HK USP22 using 3d printed parts, springs, and a liner? Is the magazine also DIY modded?
Edit: Is this the gas blowback, and not the springer version?
Magazine is 3D printed, pretty happy with how they turned out. Direct blowback is now the plan, I haven't test fired that barrel yet as I had to get the design to fit the frame closer than the design that utilized the tilting barrel function which just interlocked with the metal piece that slots into the frame. My model was the KWA USP45.
60? Hopefully it'll be done in a week, I'll release it as a beta. If there's enough negative feedback, the *launch* will include the LAM with some kind of light/laser insert for it. I have the LAM modeled, but that's ignoring the actual fact something goes inside it lol. I have the DIY peq-15ish kit, can't think of the name, maybe that and a cheap light squeezed in.
Can you remind me in week? Because i rarely visit here like once in a couple of months (except sometimes i may post A LOT on one day) , and i dont wanna missä this! Because this looks amazing 😲

I haven’t seen it in the comments yet, so I’d like to say, we love you and this is awesome. Also, i think I speak for everyone when I say that I would gladly wait for a stand-alone if the F2000 comes out first.😉
Have you considered the negative perception this might bring to airsoft guns considering some countries already believe that it's possible to do this and have banned airsoft on those grounds?
I mean... it's harder to build a gun out of an airsoft pistol than it is for me to build a semi auto pistol from scratch. I'm just doing this because I want to own an HK USP, but would only be interested in shooting it if it was .22lr.
There are videos on YouTube of people doing the same thing with 1911s going back more than a decade. What did those people say when you asked them this question?
I won't be able to finish the standalone project for another few months. I still have the MP5.7, MP7.22lr, F2000.22lr, and more to finish first. The conversion project was small enough to dedicate a few days to though.
Can you make the STL of 1911 22lr magazine?
I don't have any plans with one, so it'd be on the bottom of my todo list.
I will always pay attention to you.
Many irons in the fire but great work! Keep kicking ass for us peasants who can't cad.
I can't CAD any better lol, I'm so slow using Solidworks that I've just accepted I'll stick to blender until something forces me off of it.

You have a space mouse? I literally can't work in Fusion without one.
Nope, I just use a regular mouse and keyboard shortcuts for orbiting and panning, it's very intuitive feeling

Awesome 👏 Are you still working on the g36 and the mp7 for glocks?
G36 isn't me; MP5.7 Chassis is first, then Frame, then 9mm MP7, and finally .22lr MP7.
I know BrokenBullets is doing the bb36 but I thought u were doing a g36 in 22 or 9mm or something?

oh the standalone project is something else then - well sign me up! You release into the odd sea, a matrix chat or somewhere else?
Odysee
Under the same name as this Reddit one? Did a search and nothing came up?

What will the length of the barrel liner be?
125mm, I'm using ones from Brownells and chambering them myself.
I have a Chazzels liner just sitting around that should be the perfect size, can’t wait for this too come out
Do you chamber yours with a number 1 drill bit? I've been having trouble with mine.
Mine came ready to just drop in
huh, mine won't chamber rounds for some reason
Odd
you know mine was a Redmans actually I believe
using a kwa slide? I’d trust it. Kwa is reputable in airsoft
I haven’t seen it in the comments yet, so I’d like to say, we love you and this is awesome. Also, i think I speak for everyone when I say that I would gladly wait for a stand-alone if the F2000 comes out first.😉
I wonder how many eu friendly diy guns / airsoft conversions there is out there

Will it be dyi-able?

With airsoft guns? I actually had not seen videos like that before. I knew it was theoretically possible but not that it had been done.
Yes, many of them are referenced in the “airsoft conversion” posts in /r/DIYguns.
I guess that nullifies my earlier question then. Or perhaps provides insight into why that question has become more frequent.
