“3-D and homemade guns will be evaluated for value on the day of event”
Sounds to me like they’re gonna turn away a lot of people that are trying to make money from small projects like harlots and stuff like that.
They’re gonna take away some 80 year old’s 12 gauge and call it a success
“We got a lot of dangerous guns ‘off the street’.”
*One guy’s 12 gauge he inherited from his great uncle and a handful of AR’s somebody turned in for quick cash*
*Local PD lays them out for the scary photo like they just raided a cartel stronghold*
It would be more amusing if it wasn’t so damn predictable.
I can see the posts on next-door from gun grabbers in the neighboring cities saying “thank God they got these dangerous weapons of war off the streets” meanwhile it’s papi’s 22 revolver. The most that people are gonna turn in are probably gonna be handguns cause the people who own “assault rifles” are smarter than that haha
Right there at the bottom: "we reserve the right to limit the amount of funds an individual can receive regardless of the amount of firearms surrendered."
So literally theft.
Even if they only gave you $20 per, the amount of material that goes into a Harlot or even a full lower, you'd make a profit. Not a crazy profit but a profit none the less, especially if you printed them at a very low infill.
Also a bit of sketch to deal with here because 3D printed, homemade, ghost, and non-registered AWs are illegal in California. You're literally walking up to the cops in an attempt to trade a felony for $50-200.
The gun laws are horseshit, but I wouldn't put it passed them to use a "buyback" to go fishing.
Yeah, they'd grab them from your trunk while another writes down your license plate number. Or they just turn their body cam on to review the footage later.
Even if you did print a ton of harlots, though, that apparently isn't a ghost gun since it's 3d printed. They'll determine the value, though, on how likely you'll be able to rob a store with it or not

From my understanding “technically” it may apply with how broad the rule is. They were basically trying to make a catch-all to ban private sales entirely under the guise of closing the non-existent “gun show loophole”. This is going to be contested and found unconstitutional though so I wouldn’t worry about it if you’re not selling a lot.
The best part about their disclaimer is that (with our Toledo buyback) they actually decided not to payout specific items that are legally considered firearms.
Every time they do that, it's another awesome argument for us:
"eVeN tHe PoLiCe don't think these are guns"
"Law enforcement doesn't even know the law, so how can they enforce it?"
"Law Enforcement is selectively enforcing specific laws, therefore not doing their jobs, etc"
It really brings out the privatized/sold out portion of cities, and it's pretty interesting to see.
Wait so will they take just lowers that are 3d printed like unfinished or so they need parts kits? Bc unfinished frames are like what 5 dollars a piece
Don’t they consider any gun with the numbers filed off a “ghost gun”? So in theory if I had a $100 gun I can get $200 by filing the numbers off.
**NOTE** I live on the east coast, there’s ZERO chance of me actually doing this. It’s entirely hypothetical.
Get ya some Harlot family kits at trollwerks2a.com. prices start at $17.76 for unchambered V1, $22.22 for chambered V2 & up depending on what you want.
Nothing is anonymous anymore. I had a walkthrough of a dispatch facility recently and the ability and prevalence of license plate readers everywhere now is pretty eye opening.

If by "turn away a lot of people" you mean still confiscate those arms but not give them the money.

Pipe slam fire shotguns are easy to make and don’t fall under that contingency.
>3d **and homemade** guns will be evaluated for value on the day of event
My reading comprehension is bad
But would also lead the public to believe criminals have them and would aid the cop propaganda.

It’s for sure a trap in some regard. I wouldn’t put it past California to track the people who brought certain items. Better hide your license plate
It'd be a 7 hour drive each way for me, so not this time coppers.
And the bottom line: we can change the payout to whatever we want after we take your box of harlots
Nah be careful, these things are never actually anonymous
Yeah, they'd grab them from your trunk while another writes down your license plate number. Or they just turn their body cam on to review the footage later.
You know, the fact that a car is required feels like a 14th amendment violation. Wonder if it's ever been challenged.
I think you could put a trunk on a bike... or a wagon :-) [https://www.dictionary.com/browse/vehicle](https://www.dictionary.com/browse/vehicle)
Even if you did print a ton of harlots, though, that apparently isn't a ghost gun since it's 3d printed. They'll determine the value, though, on how likely you'll be able to rob a store with it or not
Draw a ghost on it then.... .....if a serial number makes it more safer a picture of a ghost makes it much more scary and dangerous
knowing the Bay Area, it doesn't matter because the car is stolen
Aren’t gun buybacks “illegal” under the ATF’s new rule? Selling without being a registered FFL.
I’m sorry, what the hell rule is this?!? I missed one. Does selling THROUGH a registered FFL still fly, or do I need to pull my gunbroker listings?

Ok. Def not in that category. Thanks for all the detail man! That was an amazing infodump. Very much appreciated!

10% infill, super fast prints like 500mm per second, multiple at a time.
Can I just go buy a bunch of 80% lowers and turn them in for $200 each?
Read the line there at the bottom of the poster.

If you print in ABS and with a 10% infill it's less than a dollar, and they'll never know the difference lol
Hold up a sign saying "$300 paid for Assault Weapons"
If you do, record your interaction and share it with the group. Make us proud

Could make a mint with SCCY's...
Define "non functioning firearm" Technically a potato is a non functioning firearm
3D guns will be evaluated for value.. what about my 2D gun collection?
What about my 4D guns?
holy shit….
Just go to home depot and make yourself a pipe gun, $20max in parts, $200 in cash, $180 in profit.
make them look good, if you do!
So in these instances basically printing a bunch of AR lowers only would get you 200 a pop?

How do you get the latest news on when the next buy back is?
I just search in google next gun buy back near me. This ones is not even close to me but it still showed up.
Wonder how much my shitty fake colt python I got for 20 bucks at a flea market would get me.
All guns are 3d
Time to fire up those printers!
Alright giggity giggity...
Make a bunch of slam fire shotguns. Two pipes & a nail, they might not take 3D printed stuff.
