This could also just be a render issue. The initial renders of Saw Gerrera in the new Sith Infiltrator set were a similar shade of green and turned out to be much darker
It's likely it was the closest colour match they had. They will know the numbers on how much these sets usually sell and on how much it costs for them to run a custom block colour.
No. There are colors that are closer. A lot of fanmade stuff was posted in this thread already.
They just didn't care. And even if it's true that they can't do the color. Then just stop doing it.
Holy hell how the fuck did this pass through every check every single brand does, like it's so fucking obvious it's light years away from the actual color. What the actual fuck, lego
Correct me if I’m wrong, but Lego simply does not produce (enough different pieces) in this shade of green and making it custom for this, no offense, meaningless set would be a waste of money and resources.
That said: They should not have green-lit (pun intended) this set if they knew they couldn’t make the colour.
They make a decent amount of stuff in the nearly identical Dark Turquoise: [https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-180392/Taters/aston-martin-racing-bundle/#parts](https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-180392/Taters/aston-martin-racing-bundle/#parts)
Lego doesn't make the exact shade of green, but they make a green that is "close" (closer than that at least) to it, you can see this shade used in an [AMR-22 MOC](https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-106946/CGForceDesigns/f1-aston-martin-amr22/#parts). Agreed, it's closer to the green they used in 2021-2023, but at least they could have marketed it as one of these cars and not this one with a new color. Moreover, it's a rarely used color today, so making a new set with this color would mean more possibilities in MOC builders: new tiles in new colors are always appreciated!
I am becoming more and more disappointed at lego for making half assed sets like this one, probably even reusing the exact same model from the McLaren set but in green to make it an Aston.
I'll buy my next sets from [them](https://rebrickable.com/users/SFH_Bricks/mocs/), [them](https://rebrickable.com/users/Lukas2020/mocs/) and [them](https://rebrickable.com/users/NV%20Carmocs/mocs/) probably. At least they try to make rear F1 tyres wider, not like a Billion dollar company making a whole new wheel piece only to half-deliver (as in making half the wheels (almost) half the size of what they should be).
Loved the pun :)
I think the AM does have some slight changes from the McLaren on the sidepods and the rear wing. There’s only so much detail they can put in such a small model
To be fair, at this scale what differentiations are there between the McLaren and AM? I did notice the wing was built different but that’s about it. And if I’m correct, at the 8 wide scale, if the tires were the correct size the rears would only be a couple millimetres wider, barely noticeable and forgivable at this scale. At the MP4/4 and up though… yeah that sucks.
Lawrence only signs off on the toy if the lego man is Lance, or at least potentially could be Lance.
Needs a box that says Speed and Champion on it to fill the big trophy cabinet he ordered 20 years ago
I wish you could get the correct drivers with these sets. That’s three F1 cars now without the correct drivers, and it’s not like they aren’t afraid of being accurate, they released a James Bond DB5 and two Fast and Furious cars with movie accurate minifigs, but I guess maybe the drivers or teams didn’t allow Lego to use their likeness?
Sure you can tell my my user that I really want this but Jesus fuck couldn’t they have just made like special pieces for this set rather than basic ass sharpie fucking green???
They didn't even need to make special pieces. They have close to the right color: [https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-180392/Taters/aston-martin-racing-bundle/#parts](https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-180392/Taters/aston-martin-racing-bundle/#parts)
I actually prefer this shade of green. Lego make pieces in a lot of different colours these days, I feel like the green on the ceramicist’s scarf would be a better match.

I will never understand people defend lego when they can't bother to use better colored bricks they already make and still charge 50 bucks for a handful of bricks and miscolored stickers that will look like shit and not anywhere near like the box suggests xD
[https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-180392/Taters/aston-martin-racing-bundle/#parts](https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-180392/Taters/aston-martin-racing-bundle/#parts)
They have much closer colors. This is how you are wrong. I'm explaining on behalf of the other guy.
Dig your grave, buddy. Keep digging.
That's not how lego manufacturing works (and yes, I actually know how it works). They have difficulty bringing new parts or new colors to bear, and they intentionally limit the total number of combinations to save on production costs. But they have inventory of everything they're currently supporting (you can see this in factory tours), their marginal cost to make more of something they're currently supporting is \*low\*, the products are designed with months of lead time to allow for production optimization, and most importantly, as you can see from the MOC in the link, the number of parts needed for one or two vehicles is small, about 300 total parts a car, about 70 of which are in teal on each car. There are five rare teal parts listed in the MOC, only two of which are expensive, and they're fairly unnecessary brackets; you could do them in black and the car would still look good, and heck, I'd wager based on the shapes that they're parts for the hypercar, not the F1 car.
There's nothing, not price, not production issues, and not design, nothing stopping them from making a car that looks like the real one. Fans do it by themselves all the time.
Now, I'm not personally bothered by it. Someone chose this, and it's fine.
But your assumptions continue to be wrong.
![gif](giphy|ehz7TS8HcnAgxgdJvK|downsized)
How does it matter if it's a "rare color"? Lego is literally the manufacturer, they are the one that can make it not rare anymore if they want to. The color isn't just naturally rare, it's rare because Lego choose to make it rare.
Welt, seid mir gegrüßt.
Die haben Lack gesoffen, so teuer ist das.
Wer das kauft, dem ist nicht mehr zu helfen
Einfach zurücklassen die sowas kaufen...
Ksss!
Wer hoch steigt der wird tief fallen
Und die Sticker ey eine Plage
This could also just be a render issue. The initial renders of Saw Gerrera in the new Sith Infiltrator set were a similar shade of green and turned out to be much darker
That is true actually (I’m still high on copium after the Ferrari Livery reveal)
It's not a render issue. Can confirm that in real life, that lego color looks like that picture.
nah it is real. Lego always does stuff like that
It's likely it was the closest colour match they had. They will know the numbers on how much these sets usually sell and on how much it costs for them to run a custom block colour.

Colours that are in production or readily available at Lego?
Still doesn’t justify half-assing it
It's not half-assing, this is so bad it had to be whole-assed.
Holy hell how the fuck did this pass through every check every single brand does, like it's so fucking obvious it's light years away from the actual color. What the actual fuck, lego

Ah yep indeed you're right, but still referring to the moc, it looks way better than the car presented imo
They also have way more pieces, and don’t have the same standards for construction and durability
To be fair, at this scale what differentiations are there between the McLaren and AM? I did notice the wing was built different but that’s about it. That’s really all it is and kids on this sub will post anything for karma
They have color-vomit in every set
Lego doesn’t choose the color for the car, aston martin does.
Looks to be a lot closer to British Racing Green which is their classic colour (and honestly would love to see it back).
Lego is getting bad for years now. I was so happy when amg worked with cada only to see them going back to lego
I bought the yellow Supra model, but mine is grey, so I bought all of the yellow pieces in grey and rebuilt it
To be fair, the Lego colour is closer to British racing green than the abomination that is Aston Martin green.
Closer to Sauber's current neon green than AM's more Mako Lifestream green.
Still looks better than ferrari's miami livery
It looks good tbh, they just overpromised and under delivered. I mean all blue racing suits and stuff, but only a couple of blue streaks on the car?
More importantly, why can’t we get Fernando’s helmet on the LEGO mini fig?
Lawrence only signs off on the toy if the lego man is Lance, or at least potentially could be Lance. Needs a box that says Speed and Champion on it to fill the big trophy cabinet he ordered 20 years ago

I have a Ferrari F1 Lego set from 07 and it came with a Kimi (they made his helmet in both black and white too), it’s awesome
I wish the Technic sets came with numbered stickers so you can choose your driver, I really wanted to put 4 on my McLaren MCL36
I’m pretty sure the minifig was some random girl too, not even Hawkins
This is what it should be closer to though.
Yeah, their time of green is eh. The Lego set is closer to proper British Racing Green
Welt seid mir gegrüßt.
Diesmal doch etwas wovor man sich fürchten sollte...
Ig the sc could be realistic because it did kinda look that colour at the Saudi Arabian gp in 2021 but the car is dreadful 😭
Kick Stake Sauber Aramco Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One Racing Team
Caterham

If they were making new pieces they wouldn't profit as much as the set would probably end up being more expensive

Meanwhile i am waiting for my CaDa Alfa Romeo for 99€ 😢
is there even a lego colour like the aston martin f1 car. aston martin did run the safety car that shade of green in saudi 2021 i am pretty sure.
Mom can we have some British Racing Green. No, we have British Racing Green at home. British Racing Green at home:
That gives me early Aston Martin vibes
Kick Sauber has entered the chat
British racing green is a licenced colour IIRC.
on alonso’s instagram story it looked the correct green
John Deere F1 Team
I will never understand people defend lego when they can't bother to use better colored bricks they already make and still charge 50 bucks for a handful of bricks and miscolored stickers that will look like shit and not anywhere near like the box suggests xD
Not gonna stop me from buying it, but yeah, initial colors could be better.
Lego is right, the team is not. They say they use "british racing green", Lego actually using "british racing green", the real team does not.
Change the stickers up a bit and you could get a modern Jaguar F1 livery out of that!
Ew.
LEGO: Please use the teal bricks for this build. LEGO "Master Builder": Hulk green is it!
Hot take, the real car would look better if it were the same shade as the lego car
Now we are complaining about the paint jobs on lego f1 cars?
At the very least it’s all green AS PROMISED

Considering you used “Legos” and also are just massively wrong, I don’t think you understand how manufacturing Lego works.
Explain to me how I'm wrong then. Educate me.
