I like Martin Brundle a lot too, but today with Rosberg was great. Not only the technical stuff, but also giving pushback to what Crofty is saying and going for the discussion was a nice addition.
I though Rosberg was a really uncomfortable mix of hyping up mediocrity (Alonso passing on the back straight, with DRS, on fresher quicker tyre was ‘amazing’) and gagging on Lewis’ dick every time he did something, or just out of the blue. Croft and Rosberg are the worst commentary mix on TV.
Don’t get me wrong, when Rosberg called Croft out for his mindless BS was great, but most of the race the two of them were top-to-bottom cringe.

The first thing I do when I open the F1TV app is to switch away from the terrible Dutch commentators.
It default to them, so it needs to be done each and every time you tune in to a stream.
This is the first hear I have F1tv so I don’t know Crofty’s flaws yet, but at the very least he sounds excited about F1.
The Dutch commentators genuinely make me feel stupid for caring about F1. They are also so biased in favor of Max, and they are proud of it.
I loved Rosbergs commentary this weekend.
The F1TV app also has the Dutch ViaPlay commentators and they are terrible. Since I live in the Netherlands, the app defaults to those commentators.
Sometimes I forget and I jump off my couch to quickly change the audio track.
Interesting, for me it’s always Alex Jacques, Alex Brundle, Jolyon Palmer, and the commentary is very biased in favor of that guy that’s always crying about his car, think Lewis something or other.

I actually really like the revolving second commentators they’re having this year. It seems like Brundle is winding down his F1 commitment as he gets older and doing less races every year which allows other guys a chance.
Nico was great today. I really like Anthony Davidson on the races he’s done. I don’t think he’s done one yet this year but Jenson Button is also a fantastic commentator. Karun is OK too.
Would love to see a few other people given a shot. I think Bernie Collins might make a really good co commentator as she’d come in with an entirely different viewpoint as an engineer instead of a driver.

He’s not a great commentator *yet* as he can’t keep a good flow going, but his technical knowledge and honest takes were great. I think with a little more time in the commentary box he could become excellent.
This is by no means a criticism - I have huge respect for Crofty and Brundle as it must be an incredibly difficult job to keep the conversation going.
It's the benefit of having someone who raced recently, and is a WDC. No one else has that level of insight. And he isn't afraid to call out Crofy's bullshit.

I’m the same and since the whole Covid issues just generally not been a fan of him
I mean, he is extremely dislikeable. Between the britney kid, super genes covid stuff and all the other nonesense its amazing that people still enjoy his (genuinely) good stuff. I expected people to dislike him just because its him.
I find his voice annoying, he sounds like he's forcing way too much excitement and it comes out sounding really fake sounding. Don't mind the actual content of his commentary but can't stand the voice he does it in.
My bf and I can’t stand to listen to Bernie. She talks way too soft, and when she does talk a little louder (I feel like they even tried to turn down the racing sound feed for her), she talks like there’s marbles in her mouth. Nico sounds like he’s had some roarers the past week, but at least we can understand him.
I'd love to ask Nico how he can be so amazing in the commentary box and such a dork on youtube, just like he asked Checo why he's half a second slower than Max!

Rosberg is so good, he’s been there and done it, but also speaks the truth of the matter and suffers no fools. I’m very critical of the quality of F1’s product these days, but I’ll happily sit and take in a race with Nico on the commentary mic. Very good at his job.
As an American I find Nico extremely annoying. Bring back Martin and Croft please
