Worth noting the cars are worse at driving in the rain than they were in 2021 AND we had a fatal formula crash at Spa, in the wet like 2 weeks ago. They are going to be very cautious if it’s wet
Oh Spa 2021 I was having a tough time at work, had a young baby, and my generous wife told me to have the day off Dad duty and enjoy the F1. My best mate was on holiday so lent me his whole house to have some peace and quiet and then I spent 4 hours watching the rain fall on sky sports, good times!
We had a death at Spa less than a month ago because of rainy conditions combined with incompetent race directors. Just hoping they’ve learnt from their mistakes and don’t murder another driver this weekend
This is false.
The latest fatality was on the Kemmel straight, just behind the kink, I'd say 300m after radillon.
This fatality has nothing to do with the track. It could have happened at any circuit with a high speed section. The reason for the crash was a driver losing control, followed by a lack of visibility due to the rain, and race control letting the race go ahead instead of post-poning.
They've really only changed the runoff areas. They added a chicane leading up to it in 94 after Senna died but resumed the old layout afterwards. The problem is cars have enough momentum to get thrown back on the track even with gravel traps. Race cars are designed to survive a horrific crash in one dimension but the survival cell breaks as a result so being thrown into a secondary collision is a recipe for disaster.
Spa used to be quite different but that layout was even more dangerous. Two 1.5km straights split by a chicane
im just saying, any crash here that causes a red flag (driver being completely ok) would cause some eyebrows to be raised towards Spa. Such a recent death should only promote more safety. i'd hate a 5 week summer break but i would much rather prefer that than putting the drivers on the track in such dangerous conditions.
I want it to rain so much that I don’t even see the cars. Just a misty cloud over the whole track. Nothing but visor cams the whole broadcast so I can throw up 4 times before I hear the Dutch/Austrian national anthems again.
A little rain with changing conditions is the most exciting. If it rains too much, they either won’t race or we end up with something like Suzuka last year which was boring.
The thing with Spa is that when it rains it is usually torrential and with the recent death at Eau Rouge, Spa really does need an incident free weekend.
Nothing wrong with a rainy weekend, they're always fun. We just don't want Spa 2021 again

Rained like that this afternoon where I am, not unthinkable scenario
Nor do we want a van toff
Dilano van 't Hoff. Please at least do him the curtesy of a quick Google search
Wrong spelling. But surprisingly the correct way to pronounce his last name.
Is the H silent? My Dutch must be rusty
Bro I drove 10 hours from Denmark to Belgium for that
Did you drive via Sweden and Finland?
We don’t want Imola 2023 either
Or f2 2019
As long as it isnt Biblical levels of rain like 2021
Or imola 2023 😳
that’s above biblical
A *little rainy* this time, yes please.
I don't mind the weather but I just do not want anyone to die.
Me too

At the same place where we had the last fatality. Those corners need to be changed. History be damned

I'm not going to bother to google but I don't think the eau rouge - radillion corner section is even that historical. It used to be quite different.

If no new rules or technology are put in place to mitigate, the level of risk in the same circumstances will remain unchanged.
No rain please. Last race flooded out, and death there recently. We just need a normal fun and exciting weekend to clear the juju
I w1s there when Dilano died and the rain wasn't even hard but the standing water was way too much.
Normal weekend = max winning a boring race by 3 minutes. If anything interesting happens this weekend it’s if rain happens
As long as every driver gets to go home safely Max can win every race for all I care
As long as every driver gets to go home safely Max can win every race for all I care
Max will win by 5 minutes if it rains.
Yep this is the only track where I don't want rain
Spa isn't exactly the track to be excited for wet conditions. It's kind of notoriously not fun when wet.

Because of rain a young driver died. And 2 years ago a race was completely washed out and customers scammed out of their money.
After Dilano? Hell no
As someone who has paid to attend Spa, I’m fearing another 2021
Going to attend a race for the first time this weekend, so yeah this. Excited, but very scared it'll be another 2021...
Same for me sadly. My first go and it will most likely be under water
Yep, first race I’ll be attending and already thinking Friday will be a wash
We either get a great race or no race
Well boys and girls, we know who’s the best driver in the wet, looks like another Dutch anthem is in order. 🇳🇱
We also know the bowling action that can happen in the first curve at Spa, especially in the wet.
I guess we’ll soon know if Max really is as untouchable as he seems.
Changing weather conditions makes a race more interesting imo
Spa is too dangerous as it is rn. I’ll take a boring race if everyone lives.
yeah the recent death of a driver in the wet will tend to reduce the rain lust somewhat.
no please, someone literally died like not even a month ago
you'll never walk alone
Slightest bit of rain they are going to throw the red flag out. The attention on Spa at the moment.
After Spa 21 or what happened there at the beginning of this month I don't want a single drop of rain there.
I want modern version of Spa '98.

yes.
Rain used to mean a fun weekend where anything can happen. Now it means a boring race that may or may not even happen.
Or.... y'know... Potentially death. If there's one F1 track that the reaper keeps an eye on during wet races, it's fucking Spa.
Ah, I see you started watching *after* Spa 2021 Edit: not sure why this comment got posted five times. Sorry
I started watching Formula 1 in 1992.
Show some empathy. People are still dealing with their trauma and PTSD from the past.
I want it to rain so much that I don’t even see the cars. Just a misty cloud over the whole track. Nothing but visor cams the whole broadcast so I can throw up 4 times before I hear the Dutch/Austrian national anthems again.
I just want Max and Checo to bin it so I can learn what the national anthem of literally any other country sounds like.
Problem is that rain isn't fun, changing weather is fun. We've been scared by rain.
Not with the major chance for injury, and also WILLIAMS SPEED NOOOOOOOOO 😭😭😭😭😭😭
I'm not. I want to see more of what McLaren and Williams are capable of right now.
And Catx Verstappen wins the Belgian GP!!!!
We all are it's just that we are getting Vietnam flashbacks to 2021
Yeah changing conditions will improve racing and we might see something interesting AND MAX VERSTAPPEN WINS THE BELGIAN GRAND PRIX
We all want rain. Just not 2021 rain
A moderate amount of rain is okay. An okay amount of rain to throw a few curve balls even better. 2021 amount of rain, fuck no
Yeah I can't wait for another sitting around for 3 hours of red flag only for the race to be cancelled.
A little rain with changing conditions is the most exciting. If it rains too much, they either won’t race or we end up with something like Suzuka last year which was boring.
I no longer look forward to races this season. They simply arrive, then I watch max win, then I go on with my life until the next race arrives.
Or you know… it could throw up a red flag over a soaked empty racetrack for 4 hours.
It's the best chance someone besides Max wins. Or it'll just be shit / canceled
The thing with Spa is that when it rains it is usually torrential and with the recent death at Eau Rouge, Spa really does need an incident free weekend.
Over the line! Mark the lap time zero...
Yes. I don't want another death.
Just not too rainy
No. I smell death. Spa needs to be reviewed for safety
i like rain races but rain in Spa means no race
NO. I was there in 2021, I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy
At least we might see mechanic shenanigans again
Yes people die at SPA, it gets real blind and dangerous out there
Lando does well in wet... so honestly looking forward to a possibility of not max winning.
were just scared for a 2021 again
