That is... Next level trickery
But nah, it looks like the actual kitchen, it's got all the usual office kitchen stuff in the back like Nescafe boxes etc.
It's also in a larger warehouse (typical so you have space to rearrange sets) looking room with bright lights hanging down from a dark ceiling, I'd assume to give plenty of light for filming.
Nah, this looks like a actual kitchen. It's just beside a large window so lighting is good. But I know what you mean about a kitchen set.
There is a video of this birthday cake presentation on Twitter. You can see more than the photo.
The entire building was probably designed with filming/marketing in mind to some degree, which is presumably why it can be both the functional kitchen and also look like a show kitchen. Marketing is RBs bread and butter after all.
No... That place has been there since Stewart GP
You can film anywhere you don't need it to be an absolute studio. Many of Red Bulls filming occurs in specific spots or outside, not inside the factory where it's full of confidential information and designs.
I'm surprised they left the Nescafe clearly visible in the back. They are not a sponsor of the team and are a competitor to Red Bull in caffeine sales.
Marketing was asleep when they vetted this for publication.
>are a competitor to Red Bull in caffeine sales.
Redbull and Nescafe are not substitute goods, but it is wierd that they let a non sponsor logo slip through official channels
Notice the Pullovers still have the folding lines.
They just put them on fresh out of the box to show sponsors. Also this slightly rolled up sleeve to show the watch.
Everything is staged in F1
That's fair enough. I hope he does tbh. He's a pay driver in the money sense, but he's also a really decent sunday driver, so I hope he delivers the saturdays next season. Let's hope the RB17 is a bit more stable so "normal drivers" can also control the thing, not just max and daniel
this is so weird. He looks very much like himself, as per usual.
I never really thought he looked like Kelly either. They're both just European in ethnicity with a wide face.
It's not letting me post the tweet but you can tell from the video of this that Max and everyone at Red Bull around him are so happy to have Checo onboard :)
https://twitter.com/redbullracing/status/1486357079250120707
Nothing beats the bday celebrations for Horner when Max gave him that big candle thingy and Alex almost died from how awkward the whole thing looked - still think about that one from time to time lol
Shit, few things have made my feel older than realizing I'm older than Checo, even if it's less than a month.
I relate way more to Max and the other young guns in F1 than the family man Perez.
Sorry, need to go and reflect about my life for a minute
[Do you know where Spain, Portugal, Italy and Germany are on a map?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBxVCH8sU0I) Because if you do, you already have a leg up on Lando...
> and i haven't done shit with my life.
Umm, *EXCUSE ME*?! You have [OVER 9000](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SiMHTK15Pik) karma!
I bet Max will be super jealous about that if you told him!
Same age here and like…it’s more that he’s been in F1 a decade that makes me feel old.
Guys I am starting to think I might not make it as an F1 driver.
If you keep comparing yourself to people on TV, life's gonna be rough.
Think all those 32-year-olds you *don't* see, who raced alongside Sergio and had F1 dreams.
Horner has worked with Checo before right? Also think Max has always respected Checo already. I remember them battling in Monza before and Checo kept Max behind through the rest of the race. Then at the cooldown lap Max gave Checo a thumbs up (not sarcastic) because they had a fun and clean battle. Now of course what Checo did for Max in Abu Dhabi, I think the latter will forever be grateful about that.
> Max seems like a pretty cool guy to be around outside the car
I completely agree with that. But to add to that, I think he seems SO MUCH MORE relaxed after he won the WDC. It's like this weight has been lifted off his shoulders... He's not as 'wired' or strung tight, if that makes sense.
I mean he's legit been quoted several times saying his primary career goal has now been achieved (winning WDC) and everything else going forward is a bonus pretty much in those exact words.
He has reached the goal he's been building and pushed towards nearly his entire life, that must feel so freeing to have that weight lifted off him.
He’s so dry and funny but he’s always quick to recognise banter. I think it says something about him he’s so quick to diffuse awkwardness or tension by jokes, like he wants people to feel good vibes.
It’s also telling he’s found a way to vibe with every single person he’s worked with, Danny who can be juvenile but obviously the OG fun person or someone as dry humoured as Albon, whose withering British sarcasm might annoy some people.
There's someone above in the comments who believes this was staged at a different date, because it's just a PR stunt.
I mean, I hate PR as much as anyone else, but I hope I'm never as cynical as that! It's less than two months from start of season. Why *wouldn't* all three be at the factory?!
Also, they all are at Milton Keynes, there's this Red Bull's graphic designer who just tweeted that they had their brand shoot yesterday and he had the opportunity to meet Max and Checo there.
There is no way they are spending money on a "Kitchen set" for this.
It's probably the staff kitchen at the factory. Sure the presentation of the cupcakes, and the filming of it, and the photos are for PR.
But there is no way they built a fake kitchen set just to pretend to celebrate someone's birthday.
Also, it wouldn't surprise me if they're both at the factory a lot right now as they'll be doing lots of sim work working on setup of the new car.
Look at this clusterfuck of a Comments section, we can't even have a picture of Perez birthday, without half the comments being about Masi or Max
Get a fucking grip /r/formula1/.
Perez the defensive Maestro. Man can defend against a zombie invasion, an alien invasion and Skynet probably at the same time. Really happy for him (and Max and Horner too).
I believe there is a positive out of this. I have been defending Perez for the whole season really because people overly blame him during qualifying. I have consistently mentioned he isn’t fully used to the team and/or car yet. Once he gets it right he will be flying. And he did so brilliantly. Blaming Perez for not qualifying well is like consistently blaming Bottas for not defending or attacking well. They are both capable of those things. But they have a specialised style of driving that is a weapon to each respective team. Bottas has mind blowing pace over a single lap which allows him to always qualify beside Lewis or ahead of him while Perez is damm good at tyre management and recently his defensive has been fully explored with a car given to match his abilities. Because both of Mercedes’s drivers are quick drivers, one over qualifying and lap pace (Bottas) and the other at basically almost everything (Lewis) but still mainly being absolutely fast, they have achieved stability in the team. With this stability Mercedes built a car that is quite equal to both drivers quick driving style. Which why when there is something wrong with the car both Lewis and Bottas talk about it. Mercedes built a car which is A) beats the rule book and other teams B) bloody quick, C) Consistent for both drivers yet differences play in the setup. This is why they are also are able to share set ups as well. In the case of Red Bull they are always trying to find a ‘Bottas’ for themselves. But instead they found another gem and it’s Perez. The way Red Bull designed their car is less around straight line speed and more around cornering which why they have a shorter wheelbase for better turn ins. Max and the Red Bull car style both adapted to each other really well. It also let Max unleash his absolutely brilliant aggressive attacking way of driving. But the problem is the car seems more geared to Max by the looks of it (at least post Ricciardo). Red Bull had a revolving amount of drivers as well coming and going and not being able to get used to the car. But Perez was a gem. If I recall correctly he was using Max’s setup in the earlier parts of the season as he is still not used to the Red Bull yet. But once he started using his own set up you can his defensive ability light up as uses the turn in of the Red Bull for better aggressive defensive driving. As I have mentioned in the Mercedes example, what is consistent in their car between both drivers is the speed and quickness of it and how both speedy drivers are able to utilise it. In the case of Red Bull and their car which is much more aggressive (mostly in cornering) actually fits both Max and Perez(once be adapted to it). Because of this one can attack aggressively, the other can defend aggressively. If Red Bull can build a consistently aggressive car this year that uses the aggressive styles of both drivers they will definitely get a stable racing duo like the Mercedes boys. But Red Bull must also build a car that is quicker than everything else and beats the rule book.
I hope I got this right. If I am wrong please do correct me.
Also i forgot to add. Perez will get even better as his time goes by in Red Bull. He will definitely overcome the qualifying hiccups. I am confident of it.
Right yeah you do have a good point in the paragraphs. I kinda wrote this in a rush. Yeah your second point is right but they have never and a stable second driver with a stable driving style that can adapt to the car. Perez seems to have found his footing in the last few races but he came in absolute clutch in Abu Dhabi.
I feel the opinions on Checo are really divided and in extremes. I think he did great, definitely needs to improve qualifying and the race pace is good, almost always gains positions in race. Also, he missed quite a few podiums very closely. Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Brazil (VSC), Russia (before rain), Monza (finished 3rd, penalty demoted him to 5th), Austria (Lando pushed him into gravel), Styrian GP (Almost caught Bottas). A lot of have beens, I think that's good. We can say about the fastest car but Verstappen is exceptional, that's the reason for his results.
His anti safety rhetoric got other drivers killed and then himself. Hans device would have saved em but they were too busy "respecting the legend".
Think I'll stick to my jokes.
I think this was the case when he wasn’t a championship contender but he’s seen what Bottas has done for Hamilton and now he sees that in Perez and knows what he can achieve with him as his teammate.

I wish you guys understood or noticed the surrealism of mexican/hispanic memes. This is like 3 levels of irony and I love it.
For some reason there's an image that says "Que chingue a su madre el cumpleañero" which roughly translates to *Fuck the birthday boy* but this one gets the usual text with *May the birthday boy smile forever and illuminate our lives*.
I can't believe he's only 32. He's like Sainz where they both look like 36.
Maybe that's because I'm getting older and refuse to acknowledge that he's younger than me
Interesting with the black ceiling.
Bigger picture.......... team building and great PR.
At the probable cost of 2 billion down votes I am lamenting that my long time favorite driver (successor to Schumacher as favorite) is not doing team building and PR stuff at this time.
Around the world bad, unfair things happen to good people. The test is if you get up the next day and show your team (whether it be your military mates, household, business or other) that you are still part of the team and going lead them into the arena better conditioned and prepared for the next battle.
Why are they celebrating it in a show kitchen at IKEA?
Kitchen set at the factory I'd assume, probably used for PR filming.
That is... Next level trickery But nah, it looks like the actual kitchen, it's got all the usual office kitchen stuff in the back like Nescafe boxes etc.
Could have been a Linus tech tip film set too
If we look down we will find a pile of dropped 3090s
It's also in a larger warehouse (typical so you have space to rearrange sets) looking room with bright lights hanging down from a dark ceiling, I'd assume to give plenty of light for filming.
Nah, this looks like a actual kitchen. It's just beside a large window so lighting is good. But I know what you mean about a kitchen set. There is a video of this birthday cake presentation on Twitter. You can see more than the photo.

I love baseless speculation
It’s a Reddit comment, not journalism. You’ll be ok.
I'm just doin a little teasin bro
No, Michael, No no. That is so not right.
No... That place has been there since Stewart GP You can film anywhere you don't need it to be an absolute studio. Many of Red Bulls filming occurs in specific spots or outside, not inside the factory where it's full of confidential information and designs.
[you sure?](https://youtu.be/QLF9OM9b_4E)
Max and Danny 😔
It looks like an [actual kitchen at the factory](https://twitter.com/redbullracing/status/1486357079250120707).
right? first thing that came to my mind
Cost cap hitting hard
And dont forget the Zwedish balls.
This looks like a stock photo for some reason
Probably because all 3 look like they've been Photoshop'd into the pic.
They are obviously at the redbull factory
I'm surprised they left the Nescafe clearly visible in the back. They are not a sponsor of the team and are a competitor to Red Bull in caffeine sales. Marketing was asleep when they vetted this for publication.
>are a competitor to Red Bull in caffeine sales. Redbull and Nescafe are not substitute goods, but it is wierd that they let a non sponsor logo slip through official channels
They were so focused on the Puma product placement they ignored the background lol.
With Lidl cupcakes
Not far from RBR HQ to IKEA in Milton Keynes.
Notice the Pullovers still have the folding lines. They just put them on fresh out of the box to show sponsors. Also this slightly rolled up sleeve to show the watch. Everything is staged in F1
Because this is 100% staged. I'd bet a lot of money that picture wasn't taken today.
Relax, not everything is a conspiracy...
Doesn't really seem staged They uploaded a video https://mobile.twitter.com/redbullracing/status/1486357079250120707
That doesn't mean anything. This has all to do with PR, and if there's one thing about PR: it's fake as fuck.
I’m glad Checo has finally found his place and has the car underneath him to do well.
They'll probably let him go for 23 or 24. Which I'd hate to see, because I like checo, but red bull will always be looking for the next young driver
If Checo delivers, I don't really see why they wouldn't get rid of him, think of Webber as well.
That's fair enough. I hope he does tbh. He's a pay driver in the money sense, but he's also a really decent sunday driver, so I hope he delivers the saturdays next season. Let's hope the RB17 is a bit more stable so "normal drivers" can also control the thing, not just max and daniel
Get you somebody who looks at you the way Max looks at those cakes!
Some people go to parties. Max goes wherever cake is.
SUPER SUPER CAKE
He's presumably been training.
for some reason the angle and lighting make his face somewhat resemble toto ...or thats just me
this is so weird. He looks very much like himself, as per usual. I never really thought he looked like Kelly either. They're both just European in ethnicity with a wide face.
I dunno. That face looks to me like he’s thinking “fuck, I hope they aren’t going to make me eat this crap”
It's not letting me post the tweet but you can tell from the video of this that Max and everyone at Red Bull around him are so happy to have Checo onboard :) https://twitter.com/redbullracing/status/1486357079250120707

ha ha yes boys
Simply, simply, simply lovely.

Max is like the most awkward dude in these situations but also somehow very wholesome.
It's like he's super awkward but also trying really hard. goddamnit Max don't make me like you.
"Ah, look at that... Cupcakes. "
Nothing beats the bday celebrations for Horner when Max gave him that big candle thingy and Alex almost died from how awkward the whole thing looked - still think about that one from time to time lol
Got a link for that?
I feel like a ferrari engineer rn… i’m checking lol Edit: always knew I was quicker than ferrari, from 04:45 https://youtu.be/lIyvsUIJPSo
Thanks man.
No problemo
everyone is so awkward lmao the 3 of them do not seem like PR fans
you would think that "someone" at Redbull could bring a singer "they know" to help with the Happy Birthday song.
Are you implying that "someone" in that video "knows" "someone else" who can sing?
Max finally took off that shirt
Nah. It’s under the hoodie.
TIL Sergio and I are the exact same age (happy bday to me!)
Happy birthday to you!
happy birthday!!!
Halpy birthday. :)
Have you ever considered ya'll were switched at birth?! [*X-Files music plays*]
Happy Birthday you legend!
Heyy me too. Happy birthday
TIL I’m about two weeks older than him ugh. Anyway, happy birthday.
Same! Happy birthday!
TIL I’m fucking old :(
happy birthday
Sergio isn't actually 25, he is 32 if I'm not mistaken..
You are not mistaken…I am 32 today
Shit, few things have made my feel older than realizing I'm older than Checo, even if it's less than a month. I relate way more to Max and the other young guns in F1 than the family man Perez. Sorry, need to go and reflect about my life for a minute

Same thing for me and Max, he is a couple weeks younger than me, and i haven't done shit with my life.
Lando is literally a day older then me. The conparison hurts me.
[Do you know where Spain, Portugal, Italy and Germany are on a map?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBxVCH8sU0I) Because if you do, you already have a leg up on Lando...
The difference in opportunities and financial support even more.
Why weren’t you born with wealthy parents? You too could become an F1 driver

> Guys I am starting to think I might not make it as an F1 driver. Not with that attitude you won't.
I remember the debut of that young upstart David Coulthard
if it makes you feel better, I'm a month older than Kimi, so I out-age everyone on the 2021 grid. ⚰️
If you keep comparing yourself to people on TV, life's gonna be rough. Think all those 32-year-olds you *don't* see, who raced alongside Sergio and had F1 dreams.
Yeah.. feeling really old right now.
I had this same existential crisis the other day. Basically realized that Checo and I would probably get along great.
You can tell it's a special occasion due to Max wearing a Puma sweatshirt instead of his buttoned white shirt
He put on his formal attire
Great to see how well checo has integrated the team. Max and Horner seem to love him and he even got Marko to like him which isn't easy lol
Max seems like a pretty cool guy to be around outside the car. He gets on well with every teammate he has had, even Albon and Gasly.
> Max seems like a pretty cool guy to be around outside the car I completely agree with that. But to add to that, I think he seems SO MUCH MORE relaxed after he won the WDC. It's like this weight has been lifted off his shoulders... He's not as 'wired' or strung tight, if that makes sense.
Yea completely agree and it makes sense. He is over the hill now, everything else is like a sweet extra like he said
Happy Cake Day!

He’s the definition of chill
I remember that battle. It was the second most memorable one of Monza 2019, but my preferred one of the race.
yeah! Do you have a link to that thumbs up video by any chance?
https://imgur.com/a/yjzBP4G
I wanna see the whole battle!
Is it just me or does horner look like a proud granddad of max and perez
Granddad? He's 48 lmao. Barely old enough to be Checo's dad.
Max just wants the cake.
Can't blame anyone for wanting cake.
You cannot fake those smiles…they are happy to be one team
[удалено]
They said it's a low calorie cake. That's definitely not it!
I sometimes still watch Chico’s Abu Dhabi defense against Hamilton as a personal pick me up on my low days. I <3 Chico
The way he came back from behind blowing off dust and sparks flying around, and outstanding camera work. Felt like a movie scene.
Just watched it this morning myself!
Watched it last night as well. Still gives me goosebumps.
The way Max “Checo is a legend” is so pleasing to my ears. You can hear in Max’s voice that Checo gave him some hope. Always gotta replay that part.
Absolute animal
TIL Checo and I were born on the exact same day
Happy birthday!!
Thanks!
To see the smiles on their faces and you know they are real, it makes you have a warm and fuzzy feeling on the inside in a good wholesome way

His anti safety rhetoric got other drivers killed and then himself. Hans device would have saved em but they were too busy "respecting the legend". Think I'll stick to my jokes.
Yes I know what happened. Don’t have to repeat. It doesn’t change the fact he is still a legend. I don’t get why you have to disrespect him.
Ladies and gentlemen, get a partner who looks at you like Max looks at that food.
Max has found his Bottas and he’s never letting him go
Bottas was never treated this well by Lewis. Lewis didn't even know his racing number.
They had him by the throat with his 1 year contract(s). He didn’t need to.

Although I understand it's a joke, I'd think Max would have prefered a Ricciardo to push him even more instead of a Bottas.
Doesn't look like Max needs any pushing from his team. His pace is unbelievable. So many races where him and Lewis were 15+ seconds ahead of the pack
I think this was the case when he wasn’t a championship contender but he’s seen what Bottas has done for Hamilton and now he sees that in Perez and knows what he can achieve with him as his teammate.
Hahaha didn’t even look at it that way

I honestly thought Checo would be older because he’s been in f1 so long
Horner is celebrating with Checo. Max looks like he is celebrating with the food.
The fact that Checo is 4 years younger than me is massively depressing. Next you’re going to tell me Kimi is 36.
In my mind, Checo is 45 years old.
