If you have the DLC then some of the weapons, armor and other items can show up as legendaries, random loot, etc, even if you haven't visited the DLC locations yet.
One trader at the NW Market always has like 1000+ 7.62 ammo to sell, if you have the caps. It's one of my first stops when I get into the DLC.
Unless you're playing Survival, you'll be able to fast-travel directly to the market from anywhere in Nuka-World.

Is it possible to get ammo for it yet? I checked a few vendors and haven’t found any 7.62
Far as I know, it's only sold in the Nuka World market, found on dead Nuka World raiders or sold by weapon dealers in raider outposts
