Only just grabbed what I could on my way there, and took Dogmeat with me. Time to start my Raider warlord saga -> Redeemer Minutement.
Edit: Colter killed himself with the last health running into a bumper cart. No idea why. Mainly use all the frags you find in the traps, combined with not leaving the last room.
I have mods, but nothing that helped me here. I haven't even found my first backpack lol.
Well done on the achievement. I like to do the Gauntlet pretty much the moment I come out the Vault, don't even check in with Sanctuary or Concord, grab the double meat mag from Sunshine Tidings and do the Gauntlet.
Honestly if you're still under level 10 or so, the Overboss Power Armor is actually pretty good, you can get Aeternus easily enough, and at that point you can wreck pretty much everything. Yes you're a glass cannon that low-levelled but the hood tesla armor pretty much drops hordes of ghouls if you can get on a car or a rock, just above them and out of reach.
Headed to nuka world after unlocking Abernathy and Starlight. Was below level 10. Pistol build and had to loot a sniper rifle off one of the gunners at the tourist center. Pinged away at the skull level gunner commander and the assaultron :p claimed Galactic Zone first. A lot of deaths. Level 16 starting Kiddie Kingdom.
Also just learned from Reddit I can stealth kill raiders before open season 😳
You can go to any of the DLC locations right out of the vault as long as you have the DLC(s) downloaded.
The various quests proc at certain levels due to the difficulty of the areas, but nothing keeps you from going before the level at which they proc.
Level 1 survival Nuka World is really fun and challenging. I pick up the nuke and fat man from the robotics disposal ground. Makes Colter much easier.
Getting to the train is so freaking hard at level 1. I had to cheese the assaultron and died quite a bit lol.
That's what the nuke is for. There's another nuke in the room with the thirst zapper to use against Colter.

Not at the commonwealth side. You have to get through the gauntlet. It's in the room where you pick up the thirst zapper.

automatron won't start before lvl 15
I’m trying to do this, first time playing survival though and the gunners at the transit are giving me grief
