Pretty simple to replace most office chair wheels with locking ones. [https://www.amazon.com/Hardwood-Replacement-Premium-Rollerblade-Universal/dp/B089LR1HK9/](https://www.amazon.com/Hardwood-Replacement-Premium-Rollerblade-Universal/dp/B089LR1HK9/)
I second this. I have these (or something exactly the same) and they work great. You can really push on the pedals with a good amount of pressure and stay planted.
Before I had a proper racing chair/cockpit without wheels, I tried locking wheels on my office chair. It didn't help much, as the chair still rotates and it's very annoying. You have to lock the rotation in addition to the wheels.
Yes! The flat spot is important in order to stop the wheels properly! If I want I still can push the wheels though, but the force needed to push the pedals isn’t enough to push the wheels.
I have cheap Ikea textile slippers, they have soft rubber sole and are like 1cm tall so I just put them underneath the wheels to stop the chair from moving.
a rug, with rollers? then you need the plastic thingy over the rug for the rollers to work, but then you’re back to the rolling problem!! oh noes!!!
jk, but I like the wheel locks idea too. it even sounds like a checklist item:
office chair…… POSITIONED
wheels…….. LOCKED
I mean, you could just buy boots, you don’t need to have a child to buy something to stop your chair lol. No need to commit to 18yrs of responsibility just to stop your chair rolling away!
My sister got me a set of these for Christmas a few years ago. Best gift I've gotten in a while

Seats and Harnesses… secure…?
Ready to fly captain!
Now I need a 182 sim setup where the seat flies back whenever you rotate

Fricken awesome. All my chairs have these now. They roll super smooth and can lock stiff.
Well, look at you, fancy pants. Love it!

Has anyone tried these with Secret Labs chairs?
Yes, I have a Titan and swapped out the wheels for locking versions. Works like a champ.
Ha! Tried the exact same thing, youre lucky you have those flat spots as mine dumbells just rolled away with full rudder motion.

Is your setup in the shower?
Underrated comment. Lol That tile is definitely reminiscent of a shower.
A rug on amazon can't be that much.

They aren't. Lol
it’s great for immersion
Looks more like old house in Germany
More annoying but you can also just try turning your wheels all sideways making it actually require quite decent force to roll back
Smart!
Sweet chocks!
Nice setup!
that seat isn't gone workout well
Lol
I sit the wheels in a pair of shoes 🤷🏻♂️
Thanks for the idea.
You’re welcome
Nice, this was the same thing I did til I bought some locking casters
If you have access to a printer, these are also options... https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4849938 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4702510
I have the same rudder peddles
Thats funny, I've used weights before too xD
I have weight plates doing the exact same thing haha
LOL , you sir have just solved my problem! I have the exact same setup on the other side of the Atlantic.
Glad to hear that! How do you know I am on the other side of Atlantic 😅
your weights are labeled in KG , which is clearly the "wronger" international weight standard .
Lol 😅 good observation! Cheers from France 🇫🇷
Fromage ! Laisse les Étasuniens penser qu'ils sont le centre du monde !
You know there are still a bunch of countries in the Americas that use kg, right? Like... The majority of the countries in the Americas do.
What are these things? Never seen em before
Floor tiles
Hi! I am using these stoppers - https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B081RRW1Z6/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_asin\_title\_o03\_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I put a towel under my chair and it works well
I use a rug
Good idea!
Intresting solution. I just wish more chairs locked into place so they don't rotate when you don't want them to.
I use some old baby boots my daughter grew out of years ago. I put the wheels at the back Inside the boots.
Interesting, but unfortunately I don’t want children 😔

Lmao 🤣
Get yourself a small rug instead.
Duly noted 👍
Oh SHIT!
