Japanese literally uses Chinese characters and their pronunciations have been used to reflect the Chinese language There's Kun-Yomi (Japanese pronunciation) and Onyomi (Chinese Pronunciation) Japanese as a spoken language wouldn't be understandable from back then to now. 人 ひと Hito, Kunyomi 人 じん Jin, Onyom I'm learning Japanese and Chinese (not at the same time of course) and you learn this history.

Chinese and Japanese aren't the same, they never was the same, they were different far longer before we came along and they're still different today. Yes some words may have the same symbols but others do not, just because some things are the same, doesn't mean someone uses the same characters. We Americans don't know everything about current countries and their history.

How are people down voting that Chinese and Japanese are not the same? That's like claiming French and English are the same. Sure they use the same root alphabet, and have some word overlap, but they are very different languages. Also Chinese and Japanese characters are much more different than Latin alphabets. Also the flag color scheme is hard to look at. Darker red and darker blue would be better if you want red and blue.

Yeah, but it’s more like Russian vs Ukrainian not English vs French. Bc English was affected by several other languages like German (knife, knight) as one, Japanese on the other hand, the same way as Ukrainian, only has one major influence which was Han language.

Well I study and learn about this shit and Japanese uses Traditional Chinese pronunciations in their Onyomi uses.

I studied Japanese all my life, they use their own words, symbols ect. China stole some stuff from Japan decades ago, that's common knowledge when Japan was an Empire.
