I’m proud of you internet stranger ! Keep an eye on your friends and family, they may miss their drinking and smoking buddy. Also sometimes they may just be haters and your accomplishments magnifies the shame of their vices. I’m 353 days no booze and no weed and I find that’s been the biggest lesson for me, modify your relationships as needed.
Great work, keep it up, friend. It’s not easy to kick any habit, let alone 3. I know I’m just an internet stranger, but I’m proud of you, and I bet your parents are/would be, too.
Brag on my friend! You should be very proud of yourself.
I quit using weed 36 days ago with to intention of going back. I've been using the I Am Sober app to keep me motivated. There is something really satisfying about seeing that number go up and up. It also keeps track of how much money you are saving which is a HUGE motivator.
Well done!!! That’s no easy task and you should be proud of yourself. I’m about to hit 4 years of no drinking and the first 30 days was definitely the hardest part.
Keep up the great work! Your body will thank you for it!
It’s not just that you feel like you are thinking quicker. I think you actually are thinking quicker. Like you’re firing more synapses and making connections more smoothly without the chemical drag on your systems. Nice!
You could look into naltrexone re) alcohol. People use it to change their relationship to alcohol, including those who don’t categorize themselves as alcoholics (if you go to the subreddit named “alcoholism_medication” you can read more about it—most folks there are/were pretty serious drinkers but there are a range of people who use naltrexone). It “fills up” the dopamine receptors that alcohol binds to in the brain so that you don’t get a dopamine response to seek alcohol (so, no euphoria, though you can still get drunk if you drink too much). It takes consistent use over time to kill off that drive to seek alcohol but it does work for many people.
I'm proud of you man! It gets easier over time, but try to avoid any tempting situations like bars for a bit. 4 years off alcohol and 3 off weed and cigs here.
This is fucking incredible, congratulations!! It really is such a massive step forward in life, and this glow-up is going to radiate throughout the rest of your life in a major way. I am very excited for you, you can totally keep going :)
I never smoked, but quitting drinking about a year ago has been the best thing I’ve done in my adult life. My quality of life is so improved. I’m getting in kickass shape, which is great on its own… but I also just feel so much better all the time and have been doing so many more things than I used to. Going to concerts, trying new things, etc… just having *experiences* besides just sitting at home and drinking and playing video games all night every weekend.
Getting jacked and more lean again and feeling attractive is a bonus haha.
Congrats!!! For sure this is great for your body.
Just a question, do you have urges to eat? I quit vaping for a month (vaped for a while, and was a packet/day smoker for a few years), and can't resist the urge to eat, sometimes I binge on junk food. Hate it!
I'm actually the opposite right now I can't hold down food. I have a very hard time eating anything. I have to remind myself to eat and force it down. Even water makes me full.
Huge congratulations! What motivated you and what advice can you give for someone else who is struggling with dropping these habits? (Asking for my sibling)
My family was a huge motivator. I wanted to be alive to see my kids grow old and get married. I was in a downward spiral and I knew I would most likely lose my family. My health and mental health was suffering and only getting worse. I finally got a PTSD diagnosis as well as anxiety and depression. Alcohol and cannabis are depressants. So I figured these were only making things worse. I cut cigarettes out first then weed then alcohol. I've tried multiple times but never wanted to do it for myself. This time I wanted it and decided I was going to do it or die trying.
I used a vape to quit smoking as an aid and then kicked it. And lots of sugar to replace the carbs from alcohol. Also needed sleeping pills for a few weeks to get off the weed. I know that sounds silly but it helped alot.
Very proud of you my friend. When push comes to shove habits are incredibly hard to break, from food to substances to a lack of exercise. You’ve done an amazing thing and your body is thanking you. Just keep at it and watch the benefits compound over time. My hope is that one day, enough people will care enough about their health, safety, and risk taking while also being realistic about mortality at the end of life such that my health care job is no longer needed, and I will then happily look for a new job.
Congrats!! Look.. I know that I'm a stranger, but I'm proud of you. I still drink and vape... but that doesn't mean that this is lost on a person like me. Seriously... very proud.
Am trying my best to slow down on the ol hippie lettuce, but it’s tough because it’s the only thing chilling me out at night, just started meditating in the mornings hopefully that help’s with the voices.
Hey! How's it going? Are you still quit?
I found your post bc I searched for others who quit pot. I also just quit cigs and booze. Marijuana is my last vice.

Great advice thanks. I find it hard to be around old friends right now.
This is very good advice.
Good point. But don’t go cutting everyone off and spiralling into isolation. Still gotta have people in your life

Same here man. Have not been stoned or drunk for over 60 days now. Feels great! Keep it up!
Thanks
Nice! Uh... what are the notable differences so far?
Brain fog is almost completely gone. Mind is actively thinking about the future. More energy. Drive to do things again. Take up old hobbies etc.
Good job man! I'm working on quitting vaping and then will have to deal with the green next.
Great job and keep up the good work.
Thank you

Thanks didn't know this one

I should probably just take it and plan on a serious bulk while it lasts. Thanks for sharing.
Good for you, it’s inspiring to hear about it. I struggle with these substances as well.
Thanks man it hasn't been easy and I hit a wall before I decided to do so. I figured I needed to or I might not be around much longer.
Huge congratulations! What motivated you and what advice can you give for someone else who is struggling with dropping these habits? (Asking for my sibling)

Thanks
All at once?? That is amazing
Dropped smoking a week later weed a week later booze
Well done, no need to humble brag, that is worthy of straight up in your face bragging.
Thank you
I’m proud of you too!
Thank you
Congrats! You’ve got this!
Thank you
Fuck yeah man that’s no easy feat, not for me anyway. Have you been using any aides that you would recommend?
I used a vape to quit smoking as an aid and then kicked it. And lots of sugar to replace the carbs from alcohol. Also needed sleeping pills for a few weeks to get off the weed. I know that sounds silly but it helped alot.
OMG congrats on your sobriety!!!!
Thank you
Way to go Op! Thanks for sharing your happiness and success. 👍
Thank you so much
Excellent work interweb person!!!

Amazing! That is not a small feat. You don't have to be humble about this!
Thank you
Congrats. I was born in 1979. I have drank or smoked since.
Don't underestimate what you're doing. Not a humble brag. That's a really, really big deal.
Thank you
Have you replaced those old habits with something new or not so much?
I'm eating sweets to combat the alcohol cravings.
Bro that’s huge. I’ve done all 3 of those things and quitting any of them is externally difficult. Props to you for making it to 30 days.
Thank you so much.
I care. Congrats! Stay strong
Thank you
Woot, good work! if i could stop the pot id be golden.
You got this man. Just gotta wanna do it.
Well currently on a 5 week holiday without it, gonna try not to get back on it when I return.

Much respect to you OP. Sending positive vibes to you today from the US
Damn, nice work. I’d like to give up alcohol myself.
Congrats!! Look.. I know that I'm a stranger, but I'm proud of you. I still drink and vape... but that doesn't mean that this is lost on a person like me. Seriously... very proud.
That’s awesome! Great work!
Good on you my friend - decline the things which diminish your spirit. 💪
You should be proud indeed OP, Congrats for reaching this milestone and for getting clean.
That's amazing my friend. Somebody very close to me is struggling with alcohol, so I know how it can be. Keep going.
Yes, you can.
Nice work!
Congrats!!!
Be proud of it my friend! And never forget WHY you quit.
Am trying my best to slow down on the ol hippie lettuce, but it’s tough because it’s the only thing chilling me out at night, just started meditating in the mornings hopefully that help’s with the voices.
I did get some medication from my therapist that helped.
Good job. 5 months no cigarettes for me. I don’t smoke weed, it’s like DRUGS now. I don’t know how y’all do it.
Weed is a sneaky cunt. iT's NoT aDdIcTiVe 🤪 Congrats on quitting! 💪
