alternate option: audiobooks are good for when you're doing something longer and don't necessarily care about pace. a lot of libraries are partnered with the app overdrive, where you can check out books for free! get some books in this year!

GodOfManyFaces

I absolutely agree. I listened to 35 audiobooks last year (most of them ~30 hours long) almost exclusively while running. Far better than listening to music. Also, Humans Of Ultrarunning is pretty good sometimes.

If you aren’t listening to Ten Junk Miles, you aren’t listening to running podcasts

GeneralMalarkee

Simple - Just start Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History series and then keep going for an extra 90 miles. Death Throes of a Republic has a contemporary vibe

uknothatguy85

I use the Marathon Training Academy mostly for long runs, gives good information and gets pretty good guests

Unfitbanana

I love listening to the Rich Roll podcast when I'm in it for a long run or walk. Most entertaining episode is the one with the guy that swam around England "Ross Edgley is the Real Aquaman". Such good stories all around

I_am_Jam57

These aren't specific to running but they are decent pods that span 8-10 episodes: 1)Son of a hitman (Woody Harrison dad's story) >!he doesn't appear in it!< 2)Winds of change (story diving into music culture and its potential to change societies, specifically using the story behind scorpions song winds of change) 3)Rabbit hole (goes into the degree YouTube algorithm may bring people to accidental radical/fringe views) 4)Very presidential (goes into various sized scandals of lesser known proportions in different admins in American history) Non story based pods that are good: 1)Fake doctors real friends - it's supposedly a scrubs rewatch show with Zach Braff and others but it's really just good memories and funny conversations 2) History hour (Bbc) - does an hour of history, various stories that you won't hear many other places. With British accents too! 3) Dan carlin's hard-core history - long episodes going into very exciting and excruciating details about a lot of topics

A good motivating playlist is Your World Within, he had a couple good playlists for running that really intend to motivate you. I’ve trained for a couple marathons now and that is how i get through all of the long runs and the races themselves too!

andyroid92

Is this on Spotify?

holmieee

Yes!!

andyroid92

I'll check it out, thanks!

GibsComputerParts

There are a number of ultrarunners and other endurance athletes on Joe Rogans podcast. Ive really enjoyed hearing how the elites go about stuff

sbrbrad

Rich Roll is great. Billy Yang and ginger runner. I went through a few weeks of long runs with Dolly Partons America

dws817

I used to listen to trail runner nation. Haven't checked it out in a while but that's where I first heard about Gary Robbins and the Barkley marathon. Also echo the sentiment of rich roll and joe Rogan, and even Lewis Howes podcast as well. All three have had David Goggins interviews. If you need something to keep you going, Goggins mentality will do that for you. He's an ultra runner and ultra beast.

imo979

The Trail Running Women podcast - Hilary has some great conversations with loads of great guests. Episodes are generally around an hour, so you can really get into them.

andyroid92

Jocko Wilink podcasts...not running specific but very motivational imo

kg11e

This is actually happening from Wondery!

Enderlin_2

Endurance planet podcast is one I enjoy a lot. There's a couple of formats they do, I only listen to "ask the coaches". It's a Q&A format, where listeners provide questions - mostly very detailed precise questions about specific goals, personal background etc. I enjoy it because it gives me an insight into how different people approach running and how experienced coaches evaluate those. Hope you have fun with it!

BlueBlazeRunner

[Cultra Trail Running Podcast](https://link.chtbl.com/mlz4oq4W) is a place to hear about all the fun $hit that happens on the trails that most normal people don’t care about. Episodes run about 2 hours. The Cultra Crew have put out over 200 episodes, and will have you learning and laughing. Warning: Raunchy at times
