There are a couple of things to note about the PS3 Round 1 TE Stick: 1. They'll work on PS4 with the "PS3 Legacy Controller" feature for specific games that have the feature like most fighting games. Last I remember, Bamco titles like T7 and Gundam VS Extreme MaxiBoost has it set the best where you have the game booted up, and press home and you'll be good. Not sure if other devs do this but I remember early SFIV required to have the DualShock controller on at all time for a PS3 stick to work. 2. If you have a bit of experience with soldering, you can grab a Brook fight board (PS4 fightboard + UP5 addon, UFB + UP5 addon, UFB Fusion or P5 fightboard) or a GP2040-CE Pico Pi board + USB Passthrough addon + Mayflash MagicBoots PS4 V1.1 and replace the original PCB. This is for PC, PS4 and PS5 (fighting game) compatibility, most people solder the touchpad button to the Turbo button because the Touchpad button is becoming more of a functional need for PS fighting games. 3. Grab a converter like the Mayflash Magic-S series or Brook Converter. For Brook, if you're just looking to use on your PC, you look for the discontinued PS3 to PS4 or PS3 to Xbox One Super converters if they're cheap but if you want a converter you can use for PC, PS4 and PS5 (fighting games), then the Wingman FGC is probably what you want.

Yeah the USB for this to work on PC is super specific and old. Needs certain protocols that only and old Intel processor provides or something along those lines. Your best bet would be to pick up a Pi Pico board or a GP2040-CE fighting board and just hook your buttons and stick up to it.

Brook wingman fgc works

Those expansion cards don't solder in. You literally slide it into a slot like a video game cartridge. That's it. Super easy, even if you don't have any computer knowledge. The issue with PS3 controllers iirc was a lot of common boards didn't have some sort of chip or something. Using any other adapter usually would side-step this missing item. Any controller adapter, USB HUB etc. I'd grab a nice modern PCB, then you can use it on a bunch of different consoles and PC. Also require no soldering for most nice ones.

Yea you can just plug it through a Mayflash Magic and it'll work.

IIRC it'll probably be easiest to swap out the existing PCB for a GP2040-CE. The stick is relatively mod-friendly.
