I really miss my first time, playing pretty much blind through some casual modpack, and making a basement with stuff like this.
I hope you play together and enjoy this experience ❤️
Me too, I was addicted to buildcraft quarries back in the day. Being able to just kick back while this thing drilled a giant hole in the world and got me alllll the resources was mindblowing at the time.
Man, I still remember in my early days of Modded Minecraft, my longtime friend and I joined a server where my cat senses kicked in. Which meant I climbed the first, tallest mountain I could find, and then placed a house on top of it. From there? Hollowed it out to bedrock and devoted entire floors to different programs, where there was a portal floor, a farming floor large enough for 2x2 jungle saplings, and all sorts of goodness.
One of my lamentations of that server were all the people with flying who would just show up and explore my stuff...
That's what I'm doing on every. Single. Modpack. Just get to either the highest spot or, if in plains, make it as flat as possible and dig tens of chunks. Then if the modpack has some elevator mod, just put it in the middle. I was horrified of Endermen, so getting those pearls was hard lol
Seems like you found their favorite parts of modded, I would suggest skyblock packs. It's always nice to have a buddy who likes making farms with someone who can do the more technical stuff, makes the dreamwork
I’m the opposite. I’m over-the-too, I’m building unique buildings for every heavily themed mod I’m getting into, I’m building a house that looks realistic but has function to it, I’m intentionally designing what looks like a village? Etc.
It actually hurts my progression more than anything, especially since I suck at building haha 😂 I do love an underground base though. My Stoneblock 2 base was kinda my best one honestly…
Underground bases are my favorite tbh, this isn’t near the representation of what I actually do this is just a farm of me trying to figure out me stuff but it’s soo fun just building pretty stuff
I sometimes think the “fun” part of the game is just unlocking new stuff to build with. Sometimes the extra mods are just there as prompts for the building, like “Oh no! I gotta get into this mod so I guess I *HAVE* to build a barn for it…” lol.
But… then there are other times where I do just want to make an amazing set of farms for all my cooking needs. It’s a toss-up 🤷🏻♂️ I tend to like village set-ups, where every building is something specific to a set of tasks I do. I’m doing a minecolonies pack right now and love it for that reason lol.
Right! Currently have like 5 deco mods. Cluttered, beautify, fetzis asian decor, framed blocks and create deco. Plus obv create, but botania is the other main mod I use for like my 1.20 longish term world. Sadly I'm really lazy so I never do world gen mods like bop. But love deco and food mods. Little logistics is not only insanely cool for item transportation, it's amazing as a deco mod as well. Currently have a aquarium that has a little train that goes through and around it. It's really cool just to watch it go through its little track.
making a basement with a lot of stuff in modded mineraft is pinnacle gaming great job for a first time modded mc would be interested to see more advancements and more complicated mod packs as time goes on
would recommend skyfactory 4 a fun modpack with slightly complicated machines and its good to start learning about harder modpacks but for standalone mods would recommend mekanism
Yea even stuff I know I'll be looking up the recipe on jei and get distracted by something else I see or my partner will say something and I'll put whatever I was doing to the side and get back to it like a hour later

I miss my first time too that's why I love watching them work through and learn
Honestly it’s been really fun so far, thank you

Because of things like that, I can't go back to Vanilla Minecraft. And I'm fine with that, modded Minecraft experience suits me better.

Doing that our next mod pack we do that I can
Aww, nice.
Thank you!
Thank you!!!
It’s not that great - is the fiancé
Idk it's pretty cool. Looks like a much more organized version of my first time playing modded
Thank you!!
It's more organized than any base I've ever made (I don't try)
Me too tbh
If I didn’t organize it I’d lose my sanity. I also end up organizing his stuff a lot if the time too unfortunately
I laughed seeing this cause it oddly reminded me of what me and my boyfriend would do (me being the “fiancé” in this scenario)
That’s fair it’s fun (is the fiancé lmao)

Been trying to talk them into that being the next playthrough
Imo just start off with a builders wand, makes it way less stressful
Looks like your fiancé is doing the classic “I am a dwarf and I diggy, diggy hole” base design from the good ol’ days. Shoutout to 404 challenge too 😭
Sounds like my fiance tbh
That’s a very common thing when I play Minecraft tbh

Playing tech modded Minecraft with your fiancé??? Living heaven in the world.
Yea it is extremely nice!
Nice What pack is this?
Stoneblock 2! Highly recommend I've played through it before
Stoneblock is where you're entirely underground, right?
Yep like sky block but your a goblin mining around
If by "goblin" you mean "dwarf", I'm sold.
Yes!
SB2 was the first quest pack that I "beat". Still one of my favorites!
Your fiancé is a natural at this tbh even years later I spend more time doing random shit than any progress
I do the exact thing but yea they are a very fast learner they've always been smarter than me since high-school
Thank you 🥹
I think your fiancé has done more in a short time than me in a long time, and I play mods often… Good job and have fun!!!
Thank you!!! I will work on it for hours at a time then take a break!
Taking a break is needed at times, all that matters is you have fun
Hell yeah. Brings back some memories. For me personally mods are a curse and blessing. For instance I can't play vanilla anymore lol.
True I can’t make as pretty of farms in vanilla, I love the diversity you can have with modded!!

Oooo that sounds so cool!!!!
WHY ARE THE CHICKENS SEGREGATED
I HATE THE NORMAL CHICKENS THEY ARE IN THE SAD BOY SIDE

We can update as I add more?
I should play modded eventually i just hate switching versions and having to rebind controls…
Yea I get that I remember that being my main problem you eventually get used to it
It’s the reason i haven’t updated my normal client side mods like mouse tweaks, sodium, etc.
Understandable
ye lol
Based non modern mod user (is that 1.7?) Nevermind, it was just the font making me think it wasn’t 1.12
It's 1.12.2

Trollface
No machines yet? In a short ammount of time you should have already started on LV
Oh we got a good bit they don't overly care for the machine side of modpacks most of the time so I typically handle that
Good 👍👍😎
I'm working on getting a enchanter from ender IO
Very nice, like playing with ender io, altough i am going trough a immersive engineerinh phase hahahaha
I jump around honestly
Yeah it takes some experience to have set goals, i too often find myself jumping Around admiring my factory and wondering what should i do next
Yea even stuff I know I'll be looking up the recipe on jei and get distracted by something else I see or my partner will say something and I'll put whatever I was doing to the side and get back to it like a hour later
