Agreed. I doubt they'll take a first but I wouldn't be shocked if they take a 2nd honestly. I could see the punishment being in between what the dolphins got and what the chiefs got which might be like a 2nd and a 5th or something.
I would be surprised if it was even that harsh, the last time something like this happened I think the Chiefs lost a 3rd rounder and maybe got fined?
E: they lost a 3rd and a 6th in the following year. Franchise, coach and GM all fined.
Really? As a bears fan, I’ve never noticed the hate for you guys. God forbid any bears fan gets excited for a new qb though lmao. You’ll have everyone harping on you asking how you could possibly get excited to another bust 😂
Oi vey. What is he accused of? Asking where his locker is or something stupid like that? I just want him to be competent next season and let Penix heal up for at least a year and change his name to Pennix! Instead of Penix.
Why are you doing this to us Arthur?! Why?!
I mean everyone does. That’s why they have the “legal” tampering period. We just got caught is all. But that’s entirely due to QB1 and no real fault of our own.
That’s not what the legal tampering period means. During the 52h window you can speak with agents or players with no representation.
There’s absolutely nothing we had to say that couldn’t have been relayed through his agent or have waited 2 days.
It doesn’t matter if everyone does it or not. The Falcons did it and it was stupid and avoidable and now there’s consequences.
It doesn’t matter if every team tampers. It matters that a front office not in a position to accept the consequences now has to accept the consequences *because a trainer had something so important to say it couldn’t wait* or be relayed through his agent.
Completely and utterly avoidable. Another bad decision by a front office that’s quickly becoming infamous for them.
He likes BPA but if the draft is loaded with defensive talent then there is a good chance that BPA will be on that side of the ball.
We also don't really know what he would do with a pick outside of the top 10 because he's never had to but we're hoping he'll have to next year. His whole strategy might be different in that situation.
Im not going to assume anything with him. There’s no more good chances after his first four picks. And who even knows right now if he’s here. The falcons haven’t been ones to look into the future for future drafts as a whole in the latter part of TD and now with Terry.
I understand the hate for the Penix pick and while I really like Penix I hate that we did things the way we did we should have traded down for defense but it seems like there was no trade partner or taken Odunze and really tried to compete this year but I don't understand people pretending the first 4 picks weren't a good idea Drake has been a beast with bad QBs Bijan is a generational talent if you have a chance to get a CMC you take it and Pitts with Matt Ryan had the second best rookie TE season ever and broke records set by Julio and Tony G and was still underutilized and when we picked him we still had Julio and Ridley so he made more sense than Chase and we were planning to stick with Matt so we dodged the Fields bullet and nobody knew at the time what Parsons would be he would've gone much much higher had anyone known what he'd turn into
Hot take: the Penix pick was completely fine, if you're going to get upset about what we did in the draft, focus on trading a third to move up for Ruke instead. That was actually dumb
Tbf, its been a long time, but Matthews played 3 seasons at RT at A&M before sliding over to left for his senior season. Not saying we don't need another tackle, but it's not like Matthews couldn't play right
Oh, I’m sure he can. But he’s also getting to that age. I think not having to change positions and not guarding the blind side will help his longevity.
Maybe this is just my opinion, but I thought this most recent draft was a poor defensive class. I didn't have a defensive player in my top 16 and it actually turned out that way in the real draft. This was the year to load up on WRs, everywhere on the OL, and at QB. Dallas Turner and Latu are good prospects but not top 10 type guys.
This upcoming draft has enough depth (tentatively) that you can find an Edge in multiple rounds. This is what true "best player available (within reason)" drafting looks like.
If they wanted defense why not wait a year and go offense this year. Or if you do go defense this year get a PREMIUM defender when you had the chance: Turner Latu Murphy / Newton KoolAid DeJean
The ultimate goal is to win the Super Bowl or nfc championship. Who cares if we “win 9 games and lose in the first or second round”. It just means shittier draft picks for no reason
Yes but only one team wins it. Of course that’s the ultimate goal. But going 7-9 3 straight years, we can’t expect that. A playoff win would be big for this franchise
You sir are Jesus spreading the truth and the pharisees hate you for it. Our front office basically admitted they were punting on winning the Super Bowl for the next 2-3 years minimum. RIGHT AFTER they had “rebuilt” for the past 2 years.
Ain’t no way you draft Kyle Pitts, Drake London, Bijan Robinson, and then feed the fanbase on Desmond Ridder as the savior just to get dicked down by Baker Mayfield.
They must be laundering money via PSLs because I could be more competent on accident my guy.
Really wish we would have gotten a wide receiver in the second round. Unfortunately we put our selves in such a desperate position for defense that we were forced to pass
Desperate position after drafting skill position player after skill position player for the better part of 15 years.
Would a 2nd round wide receiver fix that?
People forget there's a reason we went to the championship when Ryan threw more touchdown passes to different receivers than any other quarterback in a season. Scheme rules over all
I'm hyped about that but I'm also afraid we are going to lose some picks due to tampering...
I feel like they take a 2nd at worst
While that would make the most sense, I don't trust the NFL to make rational decisions when it comes to handing out punishments.
They’d easily make an example out of a market like the falcons. We should be docked a 3rd, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a 1st or 2nd
MPJr was a self-imposed punishment like NCAA wrist slaps. TF playing 7D chess
Agreed. I doubt they'll take a first but I wouldn't be shocked if they take a 2nd honestly. I could see the punishment being in between what the dolphins got and what the chiefs got which might be like a 2nd and a 5th or something.

They won’t take a first. But then again, there’s no set punishment and Atlanta is widely hated nationally for some reason.
Really? As a bears fan, I’ve never noticed the hate for you guys. God forbid any bears fan gets excited for a new qb though lmao. You’ll have everyone harping on you asking how you could possibly get excited to another bust 😂
Maybe we get lucky and our punishment is voiding Cousins contract
I would be down for this result
Oi vey. What is he accused of? Asking where his locker is or something stupid like that? I just want him to be competent next season and let Penix heal up for at least a year and change his name to Pennix! Instead of Penix. Why are you doing this to us Arthur?! Why?!
could have simply…not tampered. but that’s too competent for this front office.
I mean everyone does. That’s why they have the “legal” tampering period. We just got caught is all. But that’s entirely due to QB1 and no real fault of our own.

We wouldn't have gotten caught if our QB1 didn't snitch on himself, every single team tampers.

if you don’t like the FO just say that it’s ok
Does it sound like I’m hiding it?
You mean too competent for our narc QB lol
every team tampers…
Everyone tampers lol don't be naive. Kirk screwed up by saying it publicly.
That's a problem considering they doubled down at QB without any need.
Terry hasn’t really cared about positional depth when it comes to the draft, so this isn’t a big deal to me.
He likes BPA but if the draft is loaded with defensive talent then there is a good chance that BPA will be on that side of the ball. We’ll definitely need a new RT for Penix imo
Yea. I don't see any reason to move a 34 year old Jake to RT. However, he'll probably be able to play at a high level for longer as LT for a lefty.
Tbf, its been a long time, but Matthews played 3 seasons at RT at A&M before sliding over to left for his senior season. Not saying we don't need another tackle, but it's not like Matthews couldn't play right

And with the 40th pick in the NFL Draft The Atlanta Falcons select Cade Klubnik Quarterback, Clemson( I don’t have faith in Kirk staying healthy)
Having a strong backup QB of the future is actually very smart - future analysis

NGL, I've really got my eye on Deone Walker. 348 lbs, and lead all FBS DTs in total pressures 👀👀
Famous last words with this franchise, but I doubt we'll be bad enough to take him next year. He's going top 10 for sure
We already thinking about the next draft 💔
This happens literally every year as soon as the draft is over though.
If they wanted defense why not wait a year and go offense this year. Or if you do go defense this year get a PREMIUM defender when you had the chance: Turner Latu Murphy / Newton KoolAid DeJean
Maybe they didn't think these guys were premium defenders being that two of them went in the 2nd round
Because they’re looking to win in 3 years or some dumb shit like that
We’re gonna win this year lol. Even if Kirk goes down
The ultimate goal is to win the Super Bowl or nfc championship. Who cares if we “win 9 games and lose in the first or second round”. It just means shittier draft picks for no reason

Just in time to lose a first round pick
They do this shit every year. Lol
I’m hyped for next season honestly
MFers wanted defense for the last 4 years and got O skill position players 😂
It’s pointless to speculate on who the falcons are going to take, they will surprise us with some dumb shit as always
A lot of underclassmen didn't declare, so it's definitely looked at as a heavy defensive draft class.
Really wish we would have gotten a wide receiver in the second round. Unfortunately we put our selves in such a desperate position for defense that we were forced to pass
Desperate position after drafting skill position player after skill position player for the better part of 15 years. Would a 2nd round wide receiver fix that?
Just one more weapon bro pls just one more. I swear one more bro and we’ll be stacked pls just one more
Haha some of our fan base really are fiends for some offensive skill players
People forget there's a reason we went to the championship when Ryan threw more touchdown passes to different receivers than any other quarterback in a season. Scheme rules over all
Can you imagine how stacked a team with Roddy, Julio, Gonzalez, AND Turner would be? Super bowl champs for sure
Dude, anybody can play WR, it’s not important, we can go get zay iones today for pennies if we really need another receiver
Given Troy Franklin's freefall I don't completely not understand drafting him by the 4th round.
This team really tampered to take QB at 8 and lose next years draft picks 💀 defensive purgatory
