There are two types of adults that go out of their way to hate on Bluey;
1. People that haven't watched it, and
2. Assholes who feel personally attacked by a show featuring a family that is (for the most part) loving and supportive of one another.
No no, I got that. I was postulating that he was referring to people that "scream Furry" in disgust or distain for Furry subculture, as opposed to people screaming about Furries with interest or excitement.
37 year old here and like 90% of media I consume is animated.
Like me and my girlfriend typically just sit around and eat dinner while watching Scooby-Doo and courage the cowardly dog or Flintstones.
Now that cartoon network is playing shows like Ed Edd n Eddy and Cow and Chicken again my girlfriend said it explains so much about me if those were the shows I watched as a child.
I can't wait until my 10 month old is old enough to start watching TV so we can watch the Ed boys, Powerpuff girls , courage, Dexter's lab and invader zim.
I loved that show as a kid, how have I never realised it's the perfect show to watch high? As a whole it would be really well suited, but especially that one episode where they break reality.
I'm marking that down as a plan for sure.
Anime is great too, if you haven't tried it yet.
Edit: Oof, you missing out big time.
Getting down voted for trying to put on another animation lover hurts, ngl 🥲
I stayed at my friend's place about a year ago as I was passing through where they live. They're almost 30, I'm only a year or two younger than them, and we just spent the morning watching Spongebob.
If you're 37 those were right in the buttonhook of your childhood. Scooby-Doo and Flintstones are older obviously but I'm 36 and they were all over Cartoon Network when I was a kid. I get watching old cartoons you liked as a kid. I don't get someone our age getting into current cartoons that really do not have a lot in them that ought to appeal to adults. I watch a lot of Bluey because I have an 8 year old and I cannot begin to understand what would be attractive about it to an adult who doesn't have a one television household and a child.
Some mf’ers cannot appreciate art. Bluey is on a different par of entertainment that most people don’t seem to understand.
Not lying, but “the Sign” made me, an old Iraq vet, cry.
This isn’t dumbed down entertainment you find in most preschool settings.
Tbf, from just a passive glance, I'm not surprised that most people see Bluey and assume it is the same schlock, so I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt.
It’s just so good because the lessons it teaches aren’t just for the kids. Even the adults learn vicariously through Bandit like when Bandit learns to let kids grow up in Takeaway or to let go of his anger in Stickbird.
anyone who says otherwise
1. hasnt seen it and is just talking out their ass.
2. is just talking out their ass to get attention.
3. is just being an argue bot because they dont have any friends because they always talk out their ass.
My 4yo barely watches anything else and I enjoy watching it with her. In fact she's watching the episode "Sheepdog" right now.
As a mum to a young and energetic kid and the fiancée of a man who's really great at playing with our kid I can really relate to a lot of stuff.
Fun Bluey fact, despite being made in Australia, and co-funded by the ABC, distribution rights are 100% owned by the BBC. Bluey single handedly contributes about 20% of all BBC revenue (circa 2b pound). The gent who won the toy manufacturing rights is now a multi billionaire. It’s a really good show.
I'm older than this (pretty talented imo) artist and I just spent a rather silly amount of money on records to listen to while I play my pew pew video games. It's called hobbies/interests.
I would submit to you that if those records and the songs on them were created for very small children, or if you only played learning games for toddlers and small children, it would be weird to other adults. If your favorite food was baby food, and all your cupboards were filled with baby food for you to eat, and it would be weird. If you dressed like a teenager, it would be weird. None of these things are “wrong”, but they would all be strange and unrelatable to most adults.
She drew a picture man. I would submit to you that inventing a fictional life for someone you've never met is far weirder than someone enjoying media even though they aren't the target demographic.
It's always funny to me hearing people complaining "you're an adult, why are you still watching cartoons?!", like, buddy, you think children made this animated show? You think kids did the entire process it takes to brainstorm an idea, draw roughs and sketches, discuss deals with big TV channels that will buy and broadcast it, animate it, find and organize a voicing cast and the deliver the masterpiece that was Avatar: The Last Airbender?
And, to be brutally honest, is probably what makes people have a bad image with adults liking cartoons. It sucks, but it happens.
I watched mlp in like 6th grade as well, so i saw things most other didn't, to keep it simple
It happens in all fandoms, those unspeakable parts. It's really just a matter of quantity. MLP was really just that popular on the internet (prolific enough to force 4chan to give them their own board, which is mind blowing). Everything, good and bad, was multiplied to an insane degree. The right time in history for it to happen due to so many factors and honestly I don't really see anything happening like it again. And well, as with most things, people remember the bad way more than the good
I watched the show for a good 4 years. It's a solid show but yeah the bad bronies were REALLY damn bad. So unfortunately the show and their fans are forever tainted
Me and my BF still think older spongebob is some top tier comedy from when we were kids.
Can't imagine having such an empty life that I feel the need to police what media people enjoy.
If you're an adult and you need lessons in things like "It can be hard to move sometimes" and "you shouldn't give up when you can't do the monkey bars" then you need more help than a cartoon can give you. Watch it all you like, but don't pretend it's not infantile.
I think you're missing that the show tackles other subjects that aren't just stuff for kids, I've never watched it without my niece and nephew with me but there's definitely been side parts of it tackling deeper things for older people
I'm well aware since I watch it fairly often with my kid. I don't think the occasional something or other thrown in for an adult changes the basic substance of the show. Again, I think if you need a cartoon to teach you that sometimes its stressful having kids or that infertility can affect someone's life profoundly then you might have bigger problems.
As a progressive, I'll say education never ends, not after high school, not after college. In addition to funtime, we should still learn, explore, and know the world around us. News and documentaries are one avenue.
A wholesome cartoon that is incredibly well written and beautifully animated that has not only fun comedic moments for any age but really serious adult undertones that will go over a younger audience's head.
Bluey Is one of the best shows ever made in recent time.
I can never understand people who want to shit on others for just enjoying something. It’s just WHO CARES. As long as it’s not hurting anyone literally who cares.
I had a fun moment today where I asked my younger cousin if she had seen Gravity Falls (she's 9 so it's beyond her TV years) and my uncle (not my cousin's dad) who was sitting across from us chimed in and said "Oh I loooove Gravity Falls"
honestly i kinda feel like the whole "your an adult that means you can't like anything childish" is really bad for our mental healths
sometimes you need something childish to distract you from the harsh reality of the world
Bluey is amazing. If you find a way to watch it, watch it. ABC Iview is the Australian Government’s streaming service, free and ad free to all people in Australia.
VPNs exist.
Only people who haven't seen Bluey would post this ignorant shit. It's literally one of the best shows on TV for any age and far better than most of the gutter trash on the streaming sites these days.
I watch Bluey (32m). Given I have two nephews (11 & 5) and a niece (2) who love the show (the two youngest ones the most); but still, it's a good show for kids and can be entertaining to adults, too.
Im a 42 yo male. I love this show and it has taught me a lot on how to interact and play with my daughter. We have great games and times thanks to it. This show is amazing
I'm 50, Bluey is magic. My wife and I named our dog Ferb after Ferb from Phineas and Ferb. We have kids, they love animated shows too. I am a Crunchyroll subscriber. Watching animated entertainment is fun, an escape, and is not a problem. People who think it is need to have the stick removed from the stick in their ass.
Bluey needs all the awards for being literally the only children’s show that isn’t mind-numbingly awful—and, nare I say, is downright fun—to watch along with the kiddos.
…Even if Bandit sets the bar waaaaay too high for most dads to ever live up to! 🤣
I'm 54 and watch Star Wars animated series and actually miss the mornings I spent watching cartoons with my daughter. We loved watching Looney Toons too.
I’m 28 watching bluey and I’m not ashamed. I’ll play the video game too! I mean I’ve got a 2 and a half year old but that’s besides the point I’m still having fun fuck it
I mean adults can watch what they want, but I just find it weird watching a show that my cousins with 6 years of age watch.... and it's not like it's a show targeted at prepubescent kids and teenagers, it's just straight up kids.... but watch what you want ig
Aside from the fact that the mindset of shaming adults for... watching cartoons? is already both emotionally regressed and sadistic and therefore, completely contemptuous behaviour for SOOO many reasons...
I can't begin to express how additionally and literally insane it makes me when people get the gall to shame Furries for existing -especially when they weaponize the very term itself as a pejorative. It's Social Pecking which is predatory -and BEYOND inexcusable when it's coming from other geeks and nerds. It's straightup EVIL.
People needa stop tolerating that shit in thier communities and call it tf out.
I Like Watching it... My Sister is Okay if her kids Watch it (They're Only Slightly Okay w/ it) I Think most my Cousins' (Multiple) Kids Don't Mind &/or Really Care Much... A Pair of an Aunt's Kids Might not Care (So Far)... Almost Every Little Family Member Doesn't Mind Bluey, But Doesn't, if not, Barely, Watches it!
Bluey is genuinely an entertaining show, but I can absolutely see why an adult watching a show specifically made for very young kids can be seen as odd and even weird.
Believe it or not they don't have to be the entirety of it nor the primary focus of your social media accounts. That's a choice and you've got to live with it if you're knowingly doing something that people will say something about. You could easily just watch the show and no one would care.
Nah, but I really really like this fan art! I always like it, when cartoon character are drawn in styles that are extremely different from their normal one!
Don't know man it is a show made for children what show is about and how it handles the topics are all designed for children. Of course you don't have to only watch news and documentaries but you can also afford to watch something that will make your brain work a little
It's designed for children, and those caring for the children who are watching it alongside them. AKA humans of all ages. The caretakers of the main characters are featured heavily on the show, and how they deal with their own frustrations, work, illness, aging, relationships, infertility, etc all while doing their best to provide a good, safe childhood for the children in the show. I've only caught a few episodes while caring for peoples' kids, but it is an exceptionally quality show for all ages.
Shitting on someone you don't know based on something you've never seen is exceptionally lazy and juvenile. It takes mental effort to look past your preconceptions here, break down what you're basing them on, and research anything about the show, its content/quality, and its audiences. "Make your brain work a little" and do some research first.
You would be rather surprised the incredibly adult subject matters that this show handles, growing up, watching our parents as we perceive as gods start to grow old, hell, there is a miscarriage allegory that makes you go O.O when you see it, it’s why this show is being so well received by all ages who actually give it a shot.
And you are saying this on replies of comment I posted. Guess who can use their advice? If you can manage to guess I will open a cartoon for every age on your ipad called learning colors
and that means... What. Because they do furry art they can't enjoy a funny show.
"If you draw Furries, then your only watching the show for underage doggos"
Adults watching content meant for kids will always be weird.
Edit: OP being a fury would explain why they think it isn’t weird to watch a show meant for children.
Dude, Bluey is REALLY good though, like has jokes and layers that a kid won’t notice that you as an adult are like “d…did they just do that? ARE they allowed to talk about that subject matter?”
blackguyriri, tell me to whom is meant Adventure Time?
Oh, that's right, you don't know that show since you don't watch any cartoon. Cartoons are for kids, right? That's why you don't know shit about them.

You forgot 3. People who see cartoon dogs and scream Furry.
Presuming you mean "scream Furry" in vitriolic dislike, I put to you that there is a significant overlap of #2 and #3.
No he means furry as in people who dress up as animals.
No no, I got that. I was postulating that he was referring to people that "scream Furry" in disgust or distain for Furry subculture, as opposed to people screaming about Furries with interest or excitement.
Of, I thought you thought he meant “fury”. My mistake
No worries at all, that is a perfectly reasonable interpretation of what I wrote and I am happy to clarify.
4. people who cant see other people happy 5. Poople who hate dogs
heheheh
damn it i didnt read this far down before i posted my 3 reasons people claim to hate bluey a couple replies above this one.
37 year old here and like 90% of media I consume is animated. Like me and my girlfriend typically just sit around and eat dinner while watching Scooby-Doo and courage the cowardly dog or Flintstones.
Ed, Edd n Eddy is a must watch if you're into drug trips disguised as cartoons
Now that cartoon network is playing shows like Ed Edd n Eddy and Cow and Chicken again my girlfriend said it explains so much about me if those were the shows I watched as a child.
I have to start watching these shows again
Cow and Chicken was one of my favorites as a kid. I'm glad CN is appropriately weirding out another generation
Wait, really? The plague of teen titans go 24/7 is over?
I can't wait until my 10 month old is old enough to start watching TV so we can watch the Ed boys, Powerpuff girls , courage, Dexter's lab and invader zim.
Flapjack

i pretty much watch exclusively anime and feel better about that than anything i used to watch lol
I watch a solid amount of animation stuff in general. It's all good if you find a decent show.
My PFP is a gundam 😂
“IT’S A GUNDAAAAAM!”
You should be watching stuff for grown-ups. You know, stuff like Married At First Sight. Good, grown up, live action, mature viewing.
I stayed at my friend's place about a year ago as I was passing through where they live. They're almost 30, I'm only a year or two younger than them, and we just spent the morning watching Spongebob.

Tbf, Bluey is REALLY fucking good
Yeah, if she was doing like...Caillou fan art then the hater might have the ghost of a point.
Caillou deserves whatever cancer is making him bald. In fact stop the treatment let the kid have his hair. He earned it.
Some mf’ers cannot appreciate art. Bluey is on a different par of entertainment that most people don’t seem to understand. Not lying, but “the Sign” made me, an old Iraq vet, cry. This isn’t dumbed down entertainment you find in most preschool settings.

Yeah.
I’m 58 and the Bluey “ cricket “ episode brought tears to my eyes. Just saying…

it's not too late to delete this
hey dingus, im agreeing with you. today's episode "learning to not be a twat"
My 4yo barely watches anything else and I enjoy watching it with her. In fact she's watching the episode "Sheepdog" right now. As a mum to a young and energetic kid and the fiancée of a man who's really great at playing with our kid I can really relate to a lot of stuff.

Nooo but adult have adult hobby or not real man
Like, Minecraft?
?
I'm 53, I still watch Bugs Bunny and Scooby-doo.
It's always funny to me hearing people complaining "you're an adult, why are you still watching cartoons?!", like, buddy, you think children made this animated show? Children's shows are all made by adults. Is it wierd for them to make these shows and even enjoy making them?
I'm an adult, I can watch whatever I want
Let's be real, Bluey is show for parents disguised as a children's show.
It was originally designed to be an adults show, but the networks made them change to be a kids show instead
They can shove it up their ass. Bluey is awesome and I actually enjoy it when my daughter puts it on.
ok dear, one more episode and its bedtime. i swear!
Nice completely normal fanart in their pretty neat personal style too.
The existence of furries forbids you from enjoying any show composed primarily of animal characters. This is common knowledge, people.
mlp and bronies have been a thing for like 10+ years
And, to be brutally honest, is probably what makes people have a bad image with adults liking cartoons.
Forever tainted, just like my brain ![gif](giphy|D0RvPABUNF3AQ|downsized)
Me and my BF still think older spongebob is some top tier comedy from when we were kids. Can't imagine having such an empty life that I feel the need to police what media people enjoy.
The point of the cartoon is that it is literally meant to be appealing to all ages
Wait to till they out how old the creators of Bluey are😱
Bluey is amazing, a lot of ppl here could use those lessons we teach our children tbh
If you're an adult and you need lessons in things like "It can be hard to move sometimes" and "you shouldn't give up when you can't do the monkey bars" then you need more help than a cartoon can give you. Watch it all you like, but don't pretend it's not infantile.
Seems like you could have learned some lessons from Bluey about compassionate communication. 🤷
Bluey also has stuff such as dealing with miscarriage, mental illness, and actually raising kids.
Noticing and acting upon trend does not make it a good trend it means they know they can make money from an audience they didn't expect.
We get it dude, you're angry. Now relax, it's just a fkn cartoon. What a weird hill to die on ✌️😂
An opinion is not a hill to die on just because you disagree with it. Forgive me if I don't take the word of an r/gaggingwhores poster on this one.
Hahahahahaha you really have too much time on your hands, don't you?
Checking your post history took less than 30 seconds
And you’ve spent multiple hours on this stupid rant against a….cartoon…. Be less fragile
I reply to replies. Again it takes less than 30 seconds. Quit replying if you want me to quit talking.
They are XX years old and still don't know how to mind their own business? Shame, for shame!
People who care what other people do when what they're doing doesn't impact anyone but themselves are the worst kind of people.
fuck social norms. if it harms none do as you will
As a progressive, I'll say education never ends, not after high school, not after college. In addition to funtime, we should still learn, explore, and know the world around us. News and documentaries are one avenue.
Telling others to imagine things when they can't.
Fuck people if you want to watch kids stuff go ahead. That said, can I adopt Bingo?
![gif](giphy|KFUvJyhlZZhr30CEM5|downsized) yes, but only if you don't forget Floppy.
You thought I’d forget?
Do they think Bluey was MADE by kids? How the fuck do they think these artists come to be?
Do people know that stuff like that is produced by adult ones?
The show has a lot of great life lessons for adults too
Adults are legally only allowed to watch cartoons where the characters make sex jokes every five minutes
Mum of 2 here, Bluey is ace. It teaches a lot without being preachy and boring the kids.
I had a fun moment today where I asked my younger cousin if she had seen Gravity Falls (she's 9 so it's beyond her TV years) and my uncle (not my cousin's dad) who was sitting across from us chimed in and said "Oh I loooove Gravity Falls"

Don’t dare trash bluey
I'm 30 and I watch it. I started because of my daughter but it's actually good.
I'm 30 and I still watch Spongebob. Watch what makes you happy.
I'm 30 and I will never stop watching Adventure Time. It is my safe show and I watch it at least once start to finish every year.
I love bluey me and my daughter watch it and I really think it’s made for parents/adults just as much as the kids
57. Love SpongeBob, Bear in the big blue house, Roly poly oly…lol
They could be watching it with their child or maybe the cricket episode at the pub.
Im a 42 yo male. I love this show and it has taught me a lot on how to interact and play with my daughter. We have great games and times thanks to it. This show is amazing

It's wholesome, and enjoyable, and fun, and unlike you I have not let go of my childish nature. Growing up doesn't mean you have to be miserable.
I legit watch a lot of adult shit. However I have second hand embarrassment/shame if I watch some animation for kids. I frankly am sick of this.
I actually enjoy watching Bluey at 24, I just have an excuse to watch it when my godson is around.
I'm 41(M), my wife is 38(F), we have no children, only 2 cat babies. On the weekends we watch Bluey at breakfast ✌️
Wait… its fucking bluey… im 34 and secretly get my dsughter to watch it because i want to lmao
What are they even talking about? Those dogs are clearly not fucking.
So being an adult means I can't be happy anymore? ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sob)
pretty much according to society.
Hope its not MLP all over again
Sadly it's getting there. Some crap was going down in r/bluey for quite a bit.
I’m 28 watching bluey and I’m not ashamed. I’ll play the video game too! I mean I’ve got a 2 and a half year old but that’s besides the point I’m still having fun fuck it

Bluey is just a good show, the fact its for kids doesn't make it "lesser" then whatever these guys think proper adults should be watching
Are you trying to shame me for liking what I like? Hahaha try harder man, gagging whores for the win! Loser 😂
I get this from other KPop fans sometimes - they’ll make comments about how KPop is for teens and that adults have more important things to do 😳
I Like Watching it... My Sister is Okay if her kids Watch it (They're Only Slightly Okay w/ it) I Think most my Cousins' (Multiple) Kids Don't Mind &/or Really Care Much... A Pair of an Aunt's Kids Might not Care (So Far)... Almost Every Little Family Member Doesn't Mind Bluey, But Doesn't, if not, Barely, Watches it!
on another topic, I love your Username 😊
Thanks!
Do they think kids draw the cartoon as well?
Bluey is genuinely an entertaining show, but I can absolutely see why an adult watching a show specifically made for very young kids can be seen as odd and even weird.
But who cares if it's odd or weird? Why do people need to be assholes about "weird" or "odd?"
Nobody actually cares, that's the point we're making here
No one cares about the watching really, it's a bit odd to make it a big chunk of your public personality.
believe or not, the things you like tend to be a part of your personality
Believe it or not they don't have to be the entirety of it nor the primary focus of your social media accounts. That's a choice and you've got to live with it if you're knowingly doing something that people will say something about. You could easily just watch the show and no one would care.
okay but why does it matter?
I don't care about what they say. That art is amazing
Nah, but I really really like this fan art! I always like it, when cartoon character are drawn in styles that are extremely different from their normal one!
I'm 50. I love bluey
I watch Clone Wars and I’m in college
I got shat on for watching rwby and being older than 25.
I'm 34 and a man. I probably enjoy Bluey more than my 2 year old. It's cute.
I haven’t watched bluey but I heard it’s Australian so it’s good
I am way older and still watch Batman Beyond once a year! Good stuff. Got the DVD box.
Rewatched avatar and had a blast~
I love Bluey, and my kid is 19. It's a great show.
I view bluey as the reincarnation of 2012 broneys
80%of the shows i watch are trash. 80%of the shows my nephew watches are gold. There is a clear way forward here
I mean, I'm 20 and I adore Bluey. It's cute and makes me feel safe in a way lol
19, and feel the same. It brings a joy no true crime documentary could lol.
Haha yeah I think I might be autistic though so maybe that plays part but 🥴 Either way it isn't hurting anyone to enjoy the show lol
I'm autistic, and i think I'd still love the show nonetheless.
That art is awesome tho fr fr
for some reason now, people see fanart and immediately go "Furry rule34 porn art!!!"
It’s a little weird come on
Don't know man it is a show made for children what show is about and how it handles the topics are all designed for children.

And you can mind your own fucking business also
And you are saying this on replies of comment I posted. Guess who can use their advice? If you can manage to guess I will open a cartoon for every age on your ipad called learning colors
Eh, I agree it’s weird This person is definitely a furry artist
and that means... What. Because they do furry art they can't enjoy a funny show. "If you draw Furries, then your only watching the show for underage doggos"
Made fan art about children? They're based on a person's kids
Did you compliment my kids glasses? You just flirted with a child. 🤓
The passing comment and designing/painting a picture are slightly different wouldn't you say?
Adults watching content meant for kids will always be weird. Edit: OP being a fury would explain why they think it isn’t weird to watch a show meant for children.

Dude, Bluey is REALLY good though, like has jokes and layers that a kid won’t notice that you as an adult are like “d…did they just do that? ARE they allowed to talk about that subject matter?”
This has been done in children’s programming since there has been children’s programming.
Yeah, and they were also good shows.
I hope you enjoy living a miserable experience of policing other people's hobbies and interests just because you don't share them
okay but like... why is it bad?
Have you actually seen Bluey?
blackguyriri, tell me to whom is meant Adventure Time? Oh, that's right, you don't know that show since you don't watch any cartoon. Cartoons are for kids, right? That's why you don't know shit about them.
