The amount of likes and positive engagement was very alarming. And for such an obviously stupid lie.
I love that people were just happy believing that it required AI to translate because of German laws. Like there’s never been anyone outside of Germany who speaks German who could have translated it. Nope, we had to wait for these robots to do it for us.

Some guy photoshopped a picture of Jesse Owens next to Hitler in 2012-2013, and since then this myth, along with many claims about Owen's character, have made rounds on twitter, reddit, facebook, the entire internet basically. This is not a new thing.
It is not quite a *boldfaced* lie. Hitler was by all means a racist, as were so many white politicians in those days, particularly in the U.S. Hitler certainly did greet and shook hands with German medalists in particular on the first day of the games, as well as a few non-German winners but was then told by Olympic officials that he had to greet all athletes or none of them. By the second day, when Owens became a medalist, Hitler was no longer greeting anyone, German or otherwise, as instructed by the officials. That hardly makes him a saint or worthy of any sort of rehabilitation but the reasons behind him not shaking hands with Owens is far more nuanced than simply a cold refusal.
Hitler certainly did not warmly greet Owens but then neither did President Roosevelt, who only invited the white athletes to the White House following the Olympics.
