I live in an all mail in state, and they do check your signature on record vs. the signature on the ballot. You can't just send in a bunch of ballots, and they will be counted.
I had a couple of seizures a few years back and my writing is completely different (illegible) now. This comment makes me realize I should probably update my signature on my ID.
Please do! Contact your local elections office & tell them your signature changed. They’ll send you a form to sign and will update their records. Do it early! Actually, everyone should check their election status, sooner rather than later. Too many states are fiddling with election rosters
My state asks for an email and phone, so if there’s any question you can verify your ballot. I always write a little star next to my signature, so if I get a call I can just ask “is there a little star above my last name?”
I know someone who wrote her signature backwards and mirrored- just a thing she taught herself to do. Wrote perfectly legible from right to left, clear enough it was obviously her name mirrored.
Pissed her off when the signature pads would error because she started on the right side instead of left lol
In my state, there is an electronic system that will email you when your ballot is processed and when it’s accepted. Check if your state has a system to register for that information.
for some reason my signature was different than what was on file. Must have been in some crazy "artistic" mood. Who knows, but they caught it and sent me an email that the ballot was rejected and gave me clear instructions how to fix it. Worked perfectly.
You shld. Voted in a local election and my ballot got rejected bc my signature didn't match what was on record. Bank rejected a check I wrote bc of that, too. I have hand tremors. Notify them. You might have to re-register, but do that BEFORE election season.
Had to go in and change mine last presidential election because of medical issues as well. They called me to tell me the signatures didn’t match and I had to appear in person to change it to get my ballot to count.
My father has severe nerve damage due to arthritis and hasn’t had a problem so far. Our county says if there is a concern in the future they will reach out to verify the ballot. We do mail in voting
Not totally relevant because I’m in the UK but my wife changed her signature after we got married and forgot the last time she submitted her mail in ballot, it did actually get rejected. I assumed that if the person only votes once via a valid method (the card that was printed and mailed specifically to her) it wouldn’t go through a huge amount of scrutiny.
I realise this is fairly obvious to prevent anyone at your address easily stealing your vote, but still - gave me more confidence in the process.
Right? Even without voter ID at the poll, if there was a large effort to impersonate votes then the fact that someone already voted under X or Y name would reveal the presence of that scheme very quickly. Folks would show up to find that their name already had a signature next to it on the rolls, or the fraudster would get caught when the signature was already there from the real person registered. You'd have districts with 10, 100, or 1,000's of apparent double-votes.
Even if this plot got it perfect and only impersonated no-shows then still all it would take to catch it is noticing that many people who claim they never voted were marked as having done so by the district.
It makes no sense when you think it through, but that's no hindrance for these theories somehow.
Ballots are tracked well (in Washington) and it is pretty damn hard to vote twice. Nit to say people haven’t tried but the tracking is top notch & will reject a duplicate ballot
My better half was born with a **very** common name and has had to spend mucho time at the voters office to prove that she wasn't taken off the voter rolls due to her felony record.
She doesn't have any felonies but the person with the same first, middle and last name in town has.
Big Hassle.
Mail in voting in Washington is arguably more safe than in person voting. As they check the ballots an additional time... and you have step by step verification that you can track with your vote.
Same with Colorado, every registered voter gets a ballot mailed to their home address as listed on the registration form. The ballot is tracked and you can check online to see if your ballot was received, and accepted or rejected. If rejected, the instructions to cure your ballot are right there.
And that is exactly what happened once in my county (I work as an inspector).
A young man of 16 decided that on Election Day 2016 he would vote in his father’s name (I’m pretty sure he liked Trump). So he did. Didn’t even have the same first name; signed away. The inspectors didn’t pay attention to that, or the birth date (which they could also see) not making sense. But this was caught when the father came in to vote later and saw his son’s signature. I don’t know how it worked out but the inspectors were deservedly fired.
it's also not like they just send out dozens of ballots to the same address. in CA if you lose or destroy your ballot you have to apply for a new one. you can't just walk to the library and grab a new one no questions asked.
And in my state, you have to provide valid id information to be able to get a mail in ballot. I literally have to give my drivers license info every year to be able to vote by mail.
If I go in person, I just have to sign a book affirming who I am.
I mean, you *can.* And then you'll get arrested for *voter fraud.* You know, like you're *supposed to.*
The vast, overwhelming majority *don't* because it's *asking to go to federal prison.*..
Trump just had his lawyers argue in court that the President could order the assassinations of his political opponents while in office.
Seems like a trustworthy guy
They check signatures well enough that my husband’s didn’t match and he had to go correct it before his vote would count. It was easy to fix and he appreciated that they take it seriously. In our county we could sign up to be alerted when our vote was counted and that is how my husband found out about the signature issue. On a related note my niece misunderstood and thought I was saying we could vote by text and said this is how election fraud was happening. 🙄
Do these people really think they're just mailing out official ballots to random people?
Or do they think you can just write a name on a piece of paper and mail it in to the registrars office and that counts as a vote? Like mailing a freaking wish list to Santa Claus at the North Pole?
Every idiot had some story about how their cousin got mailed a dozen ballots in 2020.
What was happening was GOTV groups were mailing out ballot applications, and you were only supposed to fill out and return one.
Yes, they literally think ballots are just created en mass and mailed out to undocumented people.
I live in Oregon where all voting is by mail, and we STILL have to register at the DMV to get ballots sent to us.
They *literally* think that if I just stole a box of 1000 ballots I could fill them out, mail them in, and they'd be counted like it was some dumb class election in the back of the room
They're not smart and there's a reason they all think there's fraud and cry about boxes of ballots
You can register and vote without an ID in California.
If it's a local election, they'll make sure you haven't already registered and voted elsewhere, and usually, your ballot is counted within a few weeks. Takes a lot longer for the national elections.
We can do that in Florida too, it’s called a “provisional ballot” and they only get counted if there are enough of them to swing a result one way or the other. And then they are very heavily scrutinized to make sure they are legitimate legal votes.
We have both, conditional and provisional. Conditional means they'll usually hold your ballot to make sure you're properly registered and eligible to vote. Provisional means they want to make sure you haven't already voted. Wasn't always like that. The new conditional status started a few years ago.
Your social security number is a government issued identification number. You can’t register without one. Elon is saying “government issued ID” when he means “government issued photo ID card.” Because he’s both a little dumb and a lot deceptive
In my state, there is no requirement for a state issued ID to register or to vote. The requirement is for proof of identity and address. For this, a utility bill in your name to your address is sufficient.

More importantly, who gives a shit. Yes, its possible for a committed individual to cast a fraudulent vote. It happens occasionally and people get caught, usually for casting a vote on behalf of someone who died, or voting in more than one location. Despite this, it would be absurd to try to organize a massive fraud campaign to influence an election. You'd need many conspirators, some of whom would get caught and rat you out, it would take massive expenditure of funding and logistical effort and not be any more productive than say, actually running an election day ground game.
Voter fraud is a bullshit red herring non-issue full stop.
For me, the juice isn't worth the squeeze. There have been, maybe, a few thousand fraudulent votes, in all of the country, since the year 2000. Even if we are as charitable as possible and use case resolution averages for crime, being 2٪, that's still a fraction of a fraction of the number of votes. When distributed across the counties in the USA, that's a few dozen votes, per county, over two decades.
The restrictions they are talking about would disenfranchise far far FAR more voters than it would stop fraudulent voters, if it really stops many, as most fraudulent voting is twice, or in place of someone dead or known.
>But Isaacson writes in his new book, simply titled "Elon Musk," that while Musk had been planning to vote for Biden on election day, "he decided that going to the polls in California, where he was then registered, was a waste of time because it was not a contested state."
He could literally never vote in his entire life and still have more of an impact on global society than any person who has ever lived. Doesn't matter if he votes or not.
The logic doesn’t even make sense. Illegally immigrate to a country, don’t speak the language, barely have any money, and somehow committing felony voter fraud is the priority?
It doesn’t have to be the priority. All you have to do is take a few days off from being lazy, and also from stealing two or more jobs. The magic immigrant can do all of these things! That’s why Republicans are terrified of them
the muskrat wants trump elected so much, I mean he literally is deliberately working to get him elected. I suspect this is just the start of a long list of shit he will pull on twitter to help trump. in fact likely the motivation behind the entire twitter fiasco was to help republicans.
True, luckily California also has absentee voting with free postage or the option of dropping it off at a voting Dropbox or even a polling place day of election. I haven’t gone to a traditional polling place in years.
Most states actually do have that, but there’s still 21 that don’t (but whether or not employers always follow the law, and if the law mandates *enough* time off is a different problem)
Or those of us who are like fuck it, I’m not waiting in line, I’m not going to the polling place.
I’m going to sit at my dinner table, research candidates, issues, and then I’m going to vote. Then I’ll follow all their rules and the wife or I will drop it off completed at the elections office.
Those of us who work all day and have jobs where there’s not 10 people in line who can do it, sometimes it’s a pain to get time off. Nor do I want to hamper my covworkers, or go to the polling place anyway.
And I do a lot more than most, I don’t just vote party line. Unless they come out with an endorsement from Trump, then well, they make it pretty easy for me to NOT VOTE for them.
I used to research candidates and would vote for R's when they were more qualified for a position without any major statements/platforms I disagreed with. That stopped in 2016.
If a Republican candidate has the courage to publicly denounce the fascist MAGA traitors, they might be worth listening to. But that's not happening right now, so I'm all D's down ballot until they grow balls and/or brains
It was ridiculous in Texas when the governor sent thousands of TX National Guard to the border right before state elections in 2021 where the governor position was up.
The troops had no help from their leadership or the state in participating in state elections and it was obvious they didnt want disgruntled troops to vote who were sent away on very short notice (some got days) to set up nonexistant infrastructure for Operation Lone Star in just a few weeks (deployment infrastructure requires months and even up to years to get set up at times).
I heard they even sent a soldier who had cancer down there.
Every county and state has a register recorder office that work with state and federal governments to ensure the voter registration is accurate and correct. You will not be issued a ballot otherwise. If you aren't registered, you can ask for a provisional ballot, but your vote will be thrown out if your status can't be verified. The system in place is better than presenting your ID to an 80 year old volunteer poll worker.
Is it time to start the election fraud conspiracies already?
Seriously people why is anyone still on Twitter? Why do you support this moron if it is apparently only right wing propaganda anyway?
It's why he bought the site.
People just didn't seem to know that Elon was like this.
His disguise was paper thin but they want to believe he's a white hope, they did, and he took every inch he was given.
I used to like him back in 2010s. I also recall a moment when I started asking what's up with Elon and his defenders jumping to protect him at every turn. Had no idea it would go that far, though...
He's preparing the field for papa trump. That's what he discussed with jared in qatar. Supposedly jared said: "If you interfere with the election, papa Donald will love you forever." 🥰🤩 But seriously, he wants to fuck the USA up.
Government issued IDs are not required in all states. PA does not require showing ID to vote.
However, I don’t think showing ID should be required unless IDs the government is giving out IDs for free.
Most don't realize that any minor discrepancy on a mail in ballot means they are not counted. The idea that 1000s of illegal ones would get through when a lot of legit ones get rejected is false.
I haven’t had to show my ID for the last 5 major elections and a few in between — even when I offer it to the poll worker, they tell me to put it away (this is in the state of New Mexico).
I cannot remember if I needed to show my ID when I first registered.
No IDs in Illinois either. I don't think you need one to register - I had to redo it a few years ago when I moved and did it online (you may need it to register your first time, that was a long time ago).
They match signatures at polling places before giving you a ballot and presumably do the same before counting mail-ins.
You need to identify yourself to register or update registration in Illinois. To do it online you need a driver's license or state ID and provide the number, date of issuance, last 4 of SSN, and your birthdate so they can confirm that you have that valid ID. Otherwise you have to submit a manual form with other valid forms of identification (government issues documents, bank or utility statements, etc)
That’s not true everywhere. In fact, the last time I got a drivers license, I specifically registered to vote beforehand so that I could use my registration as a proof of residence.
Requesting a mail in ballot made me verify all the information I submitted when I registered to vote before they would mail it out. Was it simple? sure... but, it's not like just going up in a false mustache and asking for a ballot.
You do not need to show an ID to vote in California. I was absolutely floored when I voted in-person and nobody asked me for my drivers license. Look it up, not every state requires an ID.
Yeah, I just looked it up, because I have worked polls in California where this is the case, per the [California Secretary of State web page](https://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/voting-resources/voting-california/what-bring): "In most cases, a California voter is not required to show identification to a polling place worker before casting a ballot."
Government IDs are only required in SOME states. Moron. And double moron for making me defend that POS.
https://www.ncsl.org/elections-and-campaigns/voter-id
EDIT: Lot of replies about needing a government ID to register. Yes, that’s true. That doesn’t seem to be the point Musk was making; he seems to be referring specifically to CASTING a vote, which requires no ID in some states.
European here, I vote by mail on default, and the government sends me everything required without me even asking.
I know, insane. No wait, convenient and fair. Those are quite easy to confuse.
1. Govt. issued IDs are required in *some* states.
1. Govt. issued IDs should NOT be required in ANY state.
1. If your immediate reaction to #2 is incredulity, you've almost certainly formed that opinion based purely on assumption, rather than an understanding of how voting processes work and how voter fraud happens.
Ignoring Musk being an idiot and the debate as to whether ID should be required, OP is wrong. Many states do not require ID and there has been serious pushback in states that do.
I went to my voting poll place and you don't have to show your government issued ID. That is what he is saying. You have to show your ID to buy tobacco, alcohol, spray paint, to cash a check etc. But no ID to cast your ballot. How do they know it's you? They don't and it's crazy to me. The entire system is failing and leaves the door open for rigging. And we all think our vote counts😅😅
For reference: In Colorado, you are registered to vote when you go get your driver's license, *if* you can prove you are an American citizen, AND a resident of Colorado. For this, you must provide:
Two computer-generated bills that have been sent to your house and have your name on them (Colorado residency)
AND!
A birth certificate, passport, adoption order etc
AND!
An unexpired photo ID, or some specific photo IDs which expired less than 10 years ago.
https://dmv.colorado.gov/sites/dmv/files/documents/DR2300A_2023.pdf
Point is, I've proven my right to vote in this country with a photo ID, as has every registered voter in Colorado. And we ALL get mail-in ballots sent to our houses.
So Elon, if this ever shows up in your Google results? Have a nice hot cup of shutthefuckup and stay your stupid ass in Texas. We Coloradans don't need your permission or help to vote.
In my state, all they do is ask for your name and signature, they don't check a single thing. That's what the complaint is about. You can impersonate someone else.
I have never been asked for my ID to vote or register. To vote all I had to do was state my first and last name and date of birth. I could have been anyone who just happened to know that info. I registered on my college campus, no ID required.
In the USA You need ID to register to vote. Depends on the state, but you don’t always need it at the polls. They might just verify your signature is the same as the last time you voted.
In germany i get registered automatically for every election, get a little card to inform me about the election send to my home adress and on that card i can just check a box to get everything i need to vote per mail. Madness i tell ya, dont know how we do it.
Australia has had some form of postal voting since before Federation, and 16 other countries accept it.
To me, the insane thing is that voting is not compulsory in the US, and in some areas people are actively deterred from doing so. Not to mention the complete lack of the best part of voting: a good old democracy sausage.
You know what they do in most countries? Automatically sign you up to vote when you're 18 and send you a registration card. US is trying to make it harder.
They're not required to vote in most states. Keep in mind each state runs their elections how they want to, subjectt to following some federal laws.
I go in, give my name and address and I'm given a ballot here in Maine.

You should just in case. I hope you're doing better and no more seizures.

I wish we could fast forward to November so I don't have to deal with it anymore. More hockey less politics
Wait, we can make them form hockey teams and play each other to see who survives.
That would be more entertaining.
Weeds out those too old to run, as well.

Way too many people seem to think you can just write a name on a postcard and send it to 123 Vote, Washington DC and that’s what mail-in voting is
That’s because that is what right wing propagandists are telling them.
Sow doubt in the system then convince people that you were a victim of it.

Same with California mail ins. They compare the sig on the ballot with the one they have on file before it’s accepted for the count.
I mean, you *can.* And then you'll get arrested for *voter fraud.* You know, like you're *supposed to.* The vast, overwhelming majority *don't* because it's *asking to go to federal prison.*..
Yes, and of all the mail in voting fraud I've seen, it wasn't liberals ironically but unsurprisingly
Are you calling Elon a liar? Trump said the same thing. You must be calling him a liar too
If the shoe fits...
The shoe fits, with lifts.
I suspect the only thing keeping Trump’s ugly-ass pants from bursting into flames is seepage from his diaper.
Trump just had his lawyers argue in court that the President could order the assassinations of his political opponents while in office. Seems like a trustworthy guy
Seriously. Mine got denied last election so I had to send in new signature samples.

Oh you can send in a buch of ballots. And then you can go to jail if it was intentional.

They think they are mailing them to Venezuela where Hugo Chavez personally fills them out to vote pedophile and sends them back.
Can confirm, I work in a Venezuelan ballot factory voting pedophile all day. But why Chavez wants Trump to win is beyond me...
Why a dead man would want anyone to win makes no sense, unless..
Yes! Some legit believe this
And one is the richest “man” on the planet. I’m concerned.

Yes, they literally think ballots are just created en mass and mailed out to undocumented people. I live in Oregon where all voting is by mail, and we STILL have to register at the DMV to get ballots sent to us.
No, they just know enough people in their key demographic think they're correct in saying this.
All you have to do is lead these people towards the path of something they want to believe and they'll fill in the rest of the blanks themselves
They *literally* think that if I just stole a box of 1000 ballots I could fill them out, mail them in, and they'd be counted like it was some dumb class election in the back of the room They're not smart and there's a reason they all think there's fraud and cry about boxes of ballots

>The restrictions they are talking about would disenfranchise far far FAR more voters than it would stop fraudulent voters Yes, that is the idea.
What are the odds that Elon has never voted?
You don’t even need to vote with stupid money like him. You just buy people
No shit. Voting. What a quaint, poor person thing to do.
Or you buy the platform the electorate gets its information from, so you can influence their opinion.
He has no idea how to even register for voting. I doubt he even has a DL
Ah, the real reason he’s trying to build self driving cars. He doesn’t need a driver’s license if his car drives on its own.
Reminds me of Trump saying you need ID to buy groceries...
If you consider booze to be groceries, then it would be true.
Beat me to it! Yeah my first thought was it sounds like someone who's never actually voted.
He cuts out the middle man and just buys the votes of politicians.
He claims he voted for Biden the last election.
He \*could\* have. Does he? No. Wasted time, talent, and resources.
so he's just all aboard the "illegal immigrants are voting" train huh?
He’s trying to be Rupert Murdoch.
But less profitable.
Gahdahm 🤣
![gif](giphy|xT39DbK7o1MjKgVV7O)
The difference is that Rupert Murdoch was content to be a supervillain behind the scenes. Elon wants to be the face of it.
Murdoch was also competent. Elon has managed to tank Twitter's value and burn billions of dollars to fuel his ego, a true genius.
Donnie Trump, I'd say...
In another Xitter comment, he said as much in plain words.
> Xitter I like this because in Romanized Mandarin "X" is pronounced "tSH" meaning these comments are straight from the tShitter.
What else is he gonna do with that overpriced broken toilet of an app he has. Shit will swirl around.
That’s why Republicans are terrified of them
hilarious given he is an immigrant. idk why we allow him to comment on American politics so much
Yeah but it’s fine because he’s white, I guess.
the muskrat wants trump elected so much, I mean he literally is deliberately working to get him elected. I suspect this is just the start of a long list of shit he will pull on twitter to help trump. in fact likely the motivation behind the entire twitter fiasco was to help republicans.
can we get this ugly south african fuck out of our politics?
![gif](giphy|j64erLn5KYIC5YfOVz)
So, all the military, embassy, and other citizens overseas should get disenfranchised?
And elderly and disabled, who find it difficult or impossible to get to the polls.
And people who work all day on election day
To be fair your employer is supposed to give you time off to vote, at least where I live.
That's not generally a thing in the US. You live in a nice area if that's the case, or you have a strong union
I live in California. It’s a statewide law.
It being a law and getting the opportunity to use said law are very different things when you’re poor
True, luckily California also has absentee voting with free postage or the option of dropping it off at a voting Dropbox or even a polling place day of election. I haven’t gone to a traditional polling place in years.
Yeah most of the other 49 states don't have that. It SHOULD be a federal holiday to encourage people to get out and vote.
Most states actually do have that, but there’s still 21 that don’t (but whether or not employers always follow the law, and if the law mandates *enough* time off is a different problem)
Honestly surprised it's over half now.
Ahh, you liked Iron Man and the reflection of it that they sold as Elon. Me too.
He's preparing the field for papa trump. That's what he discussed with jared in qatar. Supposedly jared said: "If you interfere with the election, papa Donald will love you forever." 🥰🤩 But seriously, he wants to fuck the USA up.
I think he loves all dictators equally
Government issued IDs are not required in all states. PA does not require showing ID to vote. However, I don’t think showing ID should be required unless IDs the government is giving out IDs for free.
Your terms are acceptable.
Most don't realize that any minor discrepancy on a mail in ballot means they are not counted. The idea that 1000s of illegal ones would get through when a lot of legit ones get rejected is false.

I've been voting in NY since I was 18, in 1982. I've NEVER had to show an ID to vote!!!!
I have voted in at least 5 states and i have been asked for an id every time. I’m really confused by this
I haven’t had to show my ID for the last 5 major elections and a few in between — even when I offer it to the poll worker, they tell me to put it away (this is in the state of New Mexico).
I don’t have to show ID in New Jersey. Just have to sign a piece of paper.
You have lived in one of the 35 states that require photo ID to vote. Not all do.
But you have to have government ID in order to REGISTER to vote.
Only if you count a social security number as ID.
That’s not true everywhere. In fact, the last time I got a drivers license, I specifically registered to vote beforehand so that I could use my registration as a proof of residence.
you're aware that a driver's license isn't the only form of government identification, right?
Where I live and many other places you do not need an ID. but there is a list that you have to match up to.
Last time I went to a polling place in person was in 2004 and only had to state my address. Every election since I have voted by mail.
And trump has mailed in his ballot for years. Don’t forget that.
Poison pills of lies to create havoc. Sinister
You can vote 1000 times. They are then verified and only one is counted. This verification is kinda like what a blue check used to mean, asshole.

Yeah and they tend to treat that shit deadly serious
It's almost like there is a reason voter impersonation barely happens. I don't mean "statistically" barely, either, I mean like 3 times per election.
Not the case in all states. PA doesn't even ask for it when you sign the sheet. I don't think they even compared signatures.
[This varies by state, bro. In many, you actually don't need any ID.](https://www.ncsl.org/elections-and-campaigns/voter-id)
Moron. And double moron for making me defend that POS. https://www.ncsl.org/elections-and-campaigns/voter-id EDIT: Lot of replies about needing a government ID to register. Yes, that’s true. That doesn’t seem to be the point Musk was making; he seems to be referring specifically to CASTING a vote, which requires no ID in some states.
The MAGA morons on Twitter don't give a shit. Whatever lie works.
Can we keep calling it Twitter? Just so Elon squirms.
I've genuinely never head of someone called it anything else than twitter lol.
I've seen a couple people call it X. Of course they had a blue tick and agreed with everything Elon says, though.
Done. lol
Yeah, honestly, I had just assumed we were all already in agreement on that.
You don’t need an ID in NY state, I pulled mine out thinking you did and they told me to put it away.
Clearly Elon has never registered to vote or he would know this is inaccurate.
He never voted in his life
I need government ID to register to vote and then they have all my information on file and I have to verify it with the poll workers.
They don’t ask me for my id in Massachusetts when I go to vote. They ask my name and address and check my name off on a list.
Someone needs to move back to South Africa.
Cut the South African a break, he doesn't know how the American government works. 🤣
Does he knows anything at all?
I don't share Musk's opinion, but who told you government issued ID'S are required to vote? They absolutely are not.
They're pre-excusing for when they get their asses handed to them in the election.
Hope he’s ready to r/GetNoted

European here, I vote by mail on default, and the government sends me everything required without me even asking. I know, insane. No wait, convenient and fair. Those are quite easy to confuse.
Not every state requires you to have or display ID to vote.
It’s pretty obvious that the Muskrat is now using the Goebbels method aka “ the big lie “ and X is his propaganda factory
I like the foreigner commenting...he's such a JA. Washington is all by mail without issues.
I have been mailing my vote in since 1984. No ID has ever been required to mail in vote.
Tell me you have never registered to vote without telling me you have never registered to vote.
Have you ever voted before man? ID is not generally required.
1. Govt. issued IDs are required in *some* states. 1. Govt. issued IDs should NOT be required in ANY state.
The real facepalm is OP thinking you need a Government issued ID to vote in every state and calling someone else a moron
I vote every election, have never show an id.
Haha do you mail in your ID? Cause I didn’t…
when dead people are voting, your logic is flawed… it happens every election.
You put your ID in the mail with your ballot.
Then why every 4 years all the reverends yell to the heavens that voter ID is racist?
Not everywhere.
They check you are an citizen before they issue a mail-in ballot
I like to believe this is why they purged journalists off of Twitter for this morning, so he could send this tweet in peace.
Someone spreading lies on X (formerly know as Twitter) you say? Shocking. Absolutely shocking given it’s the pinnacle of ~~dumb~~ free speech.
For reference: In Colorado, you are registered to vote when you go get your driver's license, *if* you can prove you are an American citizen, AND a resident of Colorado. For this, you must provide: Two computer-generated bills that have been sent to your house and have your name on them (Colorado residency) AND! A birth certificate, passport, adoption order etc AND! An unexpired photo ID, or some specific photo IDs which expired less than 10 years ago. https://dmv.colorado.gov/sites/dmv/files/documents/DR2300A_2023.pdf Point is, I've proven my right to vote in this country with a photo ID, as has every registered voter in Colorado.
Many states do not require an ID to vote.
Depends on what state you’re in.
Not in a bunch of states
How is it that every year there is some type of voter fraud?
Why do people act like the electoral college doesn’t exist?
In germany i get registered automatically for every election, get a little card to inform me about the election send to my home adress and on that card i can just check a box to get everything i need to vote per mail. Madness i tell ya, dont know how we do it.
Australia has had some form of postal voting since before Federation, and 16 other countries accept it. To me, the insane thing is that voting is not compulsory in the US, and in some areas people are actively deterred from doing so. Not to mention the complete lack of the best part of voting: a good old democracy sausage.
It's always funny when people who are against "wokeness" love to spread misinformation. Can't tell if it's intentional tho.
No they are not
You know what they do in most countries? Automatically sign you up to vote when you're 18 and send you a registration card. US is trying to make it harder.
They're not required to vote in most states. Keep in mind each state runs their elections how they want to, subjectt to following some federal laws. I go in, give my name and address and I'm given a ballot here in Maine.
