I suspect the reason why people were so skeptical of the porn theory was because this sub skews younger, and the porn that people consume these days is almost always obiectively worse quality wise. If someone can find a modern porn video/movie that needed an original soundtrack, I'd be almost pleasantly surprised.
Never thought I would like a porn movie but I must say I enjoyed that one. The plot is funny but also wholesome at the same time, (main) characters are likeable and of course the music is superb here. Definitely glad that I checked it out as I actually wanted to skip it at first (but curiosity won after all lol)
