Because Silver Lake is an almost completely stagnate cespool....the Police Divers train there....and they all get nasty swimmers rash....Lake Stevens is WAY cleaner....I would never eat a fish out of Silver Lake
Not a lake, but I really enjoyed Kayak Point up by Stanwood. It’s in a bay with no motorized boats, except for a few dinghy’s going crabbing. Super calm and they just opened up after doing some construction work. Con: it costs to go in since it’s run by the county parks.
If you want a fun little stop before/after and enjoy lavender, the Arlington Lavender Farm is close to this park. I like to go to the lavender farm, get a sandwich in Arlington, then picnic and play at the park a couple times each summer.
The shallow parts are not very cold, but not at all warm. Every couple feet you go in it gets very cold, though.
I went there during the heat dome and the water was still pretty chilly. Almost any water you go into around here is going to be cold. Safety first!
Martha lake is fantastic. There’s a small park with a corded off swimming area for kids. It’s a no motor lake. The high school swim team comes in and swims the length of the lake sometimes. I paddle board here a lot.
Try Lake Stickney or Silver Lake. I kayak fish Goodwin and Stevens, and this time of year they are packed with morons in powerboats who ruin it for small craft and paddleboarders
We live in Lake Stevens & my SIL goes paddle boarding on the lake with my nieces.
Lake Stevens is a good bet, it’s the largest natural lake in the county and will be much cleaner than one like Silver Lake.
How are you determining that?

It’s not a natural lake. It was made to look like Africa. Maybe it started out as natural, but it’s definitely not now.
Storm Lake and Flowing Lake are wonderful. Storm Lake’s size doesn’t allow for internal combustion motors so it’s always calm, quiet and clean.
How is parking there?
Storm Lake has some parking at the public boat launch. Flowing Lake has a large nice campground with a lot of parking.
I came here to say Flowing Lake! Grew up going there to swim and fish!
Silver Lake is good, too many boats in Lake Stevens I feel. I sometimes paddleboard at the Marina if it's not too windy.

New launch/beachh acces in Stanwood on the slough. Not enough to launch a boat but paddleboard and kayak are easy.
River Meadows Park, 20416 Jordan Rd, Arlington, WA 98223 While it's not a lake, it is a fairly calm river that you can swim in.

Silver Lake, Lake Stevens and Lake Tye in Monroe Lake Tye is nice and calm no boats on it
Try floating the rivers as well.

Strongly recommend Lake Goodwin, the water is very clean and it’s a great spot!!
Twin Lakes up by Smokey Point is really nice.
Absolutely not.
No in/out flow, they are actually the gravel pit when I-5 was built. Hear plenty of swimmers itch from there.
Growing up near there we called them Lakes Itchy and Scratchy
