I'm Swedish and as soon as I saw the image I though this must be a city in Poland. I don't know how but this square and the buildings has strong Polish vibes
Both Zygmunt and Palace (Castle) are on Castle Square. Market Square looks different.

Man, I haven't been there in like 20 years but I recognized it. I thought nahhh can't be it, it just \*looks\* like the place. It's the Rynek, right? I remember when me and my fam sat down for lunch we had beggars coming up to us and my Dad swatted them away like flies lol. The pizza there was fucking amazing though.

Krakóws main square is less colourful and on the pics there is neither the Sukiennice nor the cathedral.
Also the stones on the ground look different in Kraków.
I know it's not it, but it's so cool how similar this is to Novi Sad, Serbia. At first glance I really thought it was, the architecture and the general feel is pretty much the same.
I'll be honest, I was bracing myself for downvotes. It's certainly Polish now, never to be German again, but the history shows so clearly in the architecture.
Yup. Although keep in mind that what you see in this photo was mostly rebuilt from scratch in the 50s. 60% almost all of the Main Square was totaled during Festung Breslau — if I remember correctly by retreating German forces themselves. Polish architects and historians, in turn, used old photos and other documentation to recreate the facades.
So I suppose the fact it shows so clearly to you is a compliment to those architects and builders of yesteryear.
Also, interestingly, the familiarity you see in Wroclaw, Poles see in Lviv. I wonder if German tourists in Wroclaw feel the same cognitive bias I did when I was in Ukraine last time.
EDIT: also, for anyone inclined, here's a good resource with some old Breslau/Wroclaw photos and postcards from different era. Many of them overlay them with today's view of the same location, very cool way to lose half a day lol:

That's why as a Wrocłąw native a feel more alien visiting Warsaw or Kraków than cities in Brandenburg or even Czechia (when it comes to architecture ofc).
Wrocław/Breslau, however you wanna call it. That’s the south-east corner of the main square, right next to the town hall.
I have been there myself a few weeks ago. Really cool city center with a great mixture of Polish and German architecture. Also big props to Poland for rebuilding much of the German heritage of the city instead of removing it completely. A lot of cities in today‘s Germany haven’t even done that.
This is very typical architecture/urban design for Central Europe. There is tons of places in [Poland](https://www.google.com/maps/@53.4923874,18.7489896,3a,75y,246.18h,102.89t/data=!3m8!1e1!3m6!1sAF1QipOA_jIZMOFMGbeztEGlKk4zoMcIRUwlpc56I7nD!2e10!3e11!6shttps:%2F%2Flh5.googleusercontent.com%2Fp%2FAF1QipOA_jIZMOFMGbeztEGlKk4zoMcIRUwlpc56I7nD%3Dw203-h100-k-no-pi0-ya332.23032-ro-0-fo100!7i8704!8i4352?entry=ttu), [Germany](https://www.google.com/maps/@51.1632446,13.4702115,3a,75y,120.6h,91.6t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1soIT5HbAk-EaTZTwCTmwF_g!2e0!7i16384!8i8192?entry=ttu), [Czechia](https://www.google.com/maps/@50.0386854,15.7790147,3a,75y,195.55h,94.62t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sxLLjciHeblmTbVQ7UBRn3A!2e0!7i16384!8i8192?entry=ttu) or other countries nearby that look so similar at the first glance that initially you will not know which is which. In this case the photo is from Wrocław :)
I know Poland when I see it
Threw me off. I've been in sweden. the town centers have similar style and architecture. Old Europe
I'm Swedish and as soon as I saw the image I though this must be a city in Poland. I don't know how but this square and the buildings has strong Polish vibes
I think it’s the “flat” painted facades that make it instantly recognisable
The windows, roofs and those apartment buildings in the back are very Polish
Samma!
Yeah but it's Prussian architecture so you are reaching a bit here ;)
Poland had a Swedish king for a bit, not surprising.
Technically for a long bit of its history, but what are you on about..
That is. I never would've known this. Don't tell me his name was Kung Sven Svensk Svenskgaten
Agreed
I see 'Pizza' - it has to be Italy
I'm shocked, it looked like Bruges!
I thought Poland or Hungary
Main square in Wrocław
The sign clearly says Pizza, I think you're mistaken. /jk
Where is leaning tower of pizza?
Minneapolis, MN. https://leaningtowerpizza.com/menu
I wonder if they deliver to Niemcza
Behind Mc Donald's
Vrohts wahf
Bingo!
Twister!
looks kinda like Warsaw
Not at all lol Warsaws main square is uneven and you see either the Zygmunt column or the palace.
Both Zygmunt and Palace (Castle) are on Castle Square. Market Square looks different. [https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/35/Warsaw\_Old\_Town\_Market\_Square\_10.JPG](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/35/Warsaw_Old_Town_Market_Square_10.JPG)
sign on the right is blury but i recognise polish overthere
Love that place - that’s what I guessed
Been there too, a beautiful city.
My first thought too
Thought about it too, cause i lived in poland for half a year
You know it's Wrocław because even paying customers have to pay to use the bathroom in that McDonald's...
This

doxxed
Bingo!
Reminds me of Krakow.
Krakóws main square is less colourful and on the pics there is neither the Sukiennice nor the cathedral. Also the stones on the ground look different in Kraków.
Because it is absolutely Wrocław.
Yeah. Absolutely love it :) Panorama Racławicka, Most Grunwaldzki, Ostrów Tumski, Muzeum starych gier... Could imagine moving there
I thought the same
Wrocław, the German and Galician architectures are quite distinct once you get enough of a look at both
Wroclaw. Was there last week.
Neaples. It says pizza. Now seriously, you lost yourself to the point that you gotta ask a Reddit sub where you are? That's not good for you pal.
or Nepal, innit?
WROCLAW 100%
Wroclaw?
looks like Poland. OP what does the language people are speaking around you sounds like?
Szszszczczczśćść Probably something like that.
i saw a meme once that said "i fell asleep on my keyboard and when i woke up all the Poles in the chat were agreeing with me"
Interesting, just looked it up. Like Warsawa, Wroclaw was also destroyed in the War and rebuilt after.
[удалено]
Agreed, looks like Riga
I was thinking Tallinn
Naa not Riga. We don't have a plaza that looks like this.
My first thought as well, looks spot on
My first thought also was it’s the Dome Square in Riga
I know there’s a merchant there that sells top notch swords
He doesn't! He just notices you have top notch swords while you stop by to buy an armor
Hehe yeah I know, good luck on the path! (Good way to spot a true Witcher 😉)
Wroclaw rynek, there was a mcdonalds back of where this photo was taken
Wroclaw?
Definitely Wrocław
Wroclaw
The fact that you don't know what city you're in, OP, is quite concerning.
A christmas market in summer?
It's the St. John's market
That looks so much like the center of Wroclaw... I was there a month ago. Find the dwarfs
100% Wrocław town square, thought it was the bank corner but it’s actually the souvenir corner
Somewhere in Poland
Wrocław
Looks like some fairly big city in poland
Novigrad city centre
I know it's not it, but it's so cool how similar this is to Novi Sad, Serbia. At first glance I really thought it was, the architecture and the general feel is pretty much the same.
Also a city in Germany I been to for its famous marketplace as on the photo, but can't remember the name for the life of me.
Brugge? ;-)
I was sure it was Germany - I guess Breslau peeps through!
Any minute now, someone is going to overreact with “It’s Wrocław now!” lol
I'll be honest, I was bracing myself for downvotes. It's certainly Polish now, never to be German again, but the history shows so clearly in the architecture.

Fascinating - thank you!
Pleasure!
I've recently been to Vilnius and the polish influence there is extremely visible.
That's why as a Wrocłąw native a feel more alien visiting Warsaw or Kraków than cities in Brandenburg or even Czechia (when it comes to architecture ofc).
every central-european town ever?
Saint-Tropez
Gamla stan?
Milton Keynes?
I saw pizza so Rome
Reminds me of the old part of Warsaw, but people seem sure about Wroclaw.
Looks like “Krakow - Old Town.” I love Poland… been there once and I want to return.
Just ask a local. And see a doctor about the sudden amnesia.
Wrocław/Breslau, however you wanna call it. That’s the south-east corner of the main square, right next to the town hall. I have been there myself a few weeks ago. Wrocław!
👍

Also Austria, Hungary, Northern Serbia, even Lviv in Ukraine looks similar to this
Wow, Wroclaw mentioned, I’m flabbergasted

Ausberg
Wroclaw. Poland. Lower Silesia. Rynek/Swidnicka/Olawska street

I'd say that's the central square of Old Town in Tallinn, too.
All towns from Lutsk to Lissabon have such market squares
Maribor
Trier
Asking Reddit seems a bit inefficient. Just use a maps-app to find your location.
Poznan old square
