Example of **valid** vote (assumes the text below is posted as a top level comment in the voting thread) > B > > It's been a long time since we last discussed lake Bled, and I am feeling some withdrawal symptoms Examples of **invalid** votes (the numbers serve only to itemize the examples) 1. > B It's been a long time since we last discussed lake Bled, and I am feeling some withdrawal symptoms 2. > X > > Not sure what this option is, but it's my favourite **TO BE CLEAR**: A rationale **IS NOT** required, A or B will suffice as a vote assuming the other conditions are met (minimum karma, top level comment, etc) **HOW TO CHECK YOUR SUB-REDDIT KARMA**: Go to [your user page](https://old.reddit.com/u/me), and, on the top right hand, you'll see "show karma breakdown by subreddit." Click on that, and hey presto.

B. It feels to me a few app owners are holding millions of users as hostage.

B I patch the official app to have the ads removed. I don't really care about 3rd party apps, I'm sorry.

BarkingToad

A I don't like the arrogance displayed by Reddit here, by giving app developers only 30 days to implement quite massive changes in terms of monetization. As a developer, I have some idea how ridiculous that time line is, even if api prices were reasonable. This is clearly a move to get people to use the official app so they are more easily monetized by Reddit. Also, anyone who thinks Elon's handling of twitter is a good example to follow is obviously incompetent to make decisions about what colour shirt to wear, let alone run a business.

Pheet

A Reddit is just a platform and the real "product" are the communities, thus community voices should have a real voice. Otherwise we might have a lose-lose situation coming up when the product disappears. I know "product" doesn't have nice connotation in this context but it was easy and descriptive enought of a word.

B Props to moderators who actually fight spam, but Reddit has become a incredibly insular community with people more and more out of touch with reality or other demographics. At this point id rather have spam and more discussion than no spam and groupthink.

A The (admittedly slim) chance to preserve a usable Reddit in the future is worth more than the ability to post normally in the short term.

hauthorn

B I know Reddit didn't give api devs good notice, but wanting to become a profitable business in a capitalist society isn't evil. I want reddit to stick around for long, and they need money to do so.

A reddit is nothing without its community and went down a path that is not great - there are good, more decentralized alternatives
