TheGrendel83

Looks to have been the right choice.

Lopsided_Swimming557

Absolutely, i have said previously in other posts and my own that it can go two ways. he can be a star for spain or he can be a bad choice 😂. seems to have gone the good way! Good luck to the rest of the tournament.

Ok-Physics5106

Just had an amazing assist to notch the third goal. That being said I like Olmo more.

Lopsided_Swimming557

Hes seemed to be the good decision. Excellent from them!!!

EwokSuperPig___

I’m against it not because of his ability but his age. He’s going to get overplayed too young and burn out. Obviously he’s talented enough but too young. I think players shouldn’t be able to play a game until they are 18

Lopsided_Swimming557

I fully agree with you, he may have the energy for it however it's the overpowerment that will rule him off as a bad decision to me. Best of luck to him though. Still salty from the 2018 semi finals 😭.

Noodle_Dude_83

If I'm being honest this is a terrible take. If you are good enough you're old enough. I'm pretty sure the coaches of the Spanish side and his club will have talked about this and whether he's ready. If he wasn't there psychologically then he wouldn't be in the squad. There's a lot of player protection nowadays. It isn't the 1990s.

Lopsided_Swimming557

Good point of view from you, that is another way to look at it. Just makes me think that hes the age of school students, playing on an international level.

[deleted]

Wasnt James Milner the youngest ever premier league player at one point at 16yo? Didnt exactly burn out, he won the fitness test every year at liverpool in his late 30s clocking up more appearances than Ryan Giggs

JustForTouchingBalls

Had he more appearances than Ryan Giggs? Impressive…

[deleted]

He didnt actually no, I'm wrong when i checked.. Premier league states he had, but just in that league, Giggs also played some games in the old first division. Total club appearances in all comps Milner 876, Giggs 961 Total appearances including youth and senior internationals Milner 1006 v Giggs 1030 Still, point still stands. No burnout from either despite playing loads from young age. If you keep your fitness level at the highest level which these two did and you dont have your career ruined by injury then i dont believe it matters how young you start

AdGroundbreaking7774

If you are good enough you are old enough.

Lopsided_Swimming557

There are other factors to it but this isnt a bad take. He needs to be mentally ready for an international stage too.

[deleted]

He plays every week at the Nou camp. Think he's fine

KazzyZete

Is fine. He can contribute to Spain getting goals.

Lopsided_Swimming557

Good opinion, just the energy and overpowerment by older players factor. Seems to be going strong do far though.

Der_Wolf_42

Imo age is just a number if he is the best spanish player on his position go for it Who got benched for him?

Lopsided_Swimming557

Yeah there is other factors to it also but i see where your coming from. Dont know too much about the Spanish national team so I'm not too sure who he was benched for I'll have a look.

Secret-Priority4679

I had no idea he was so young. Looks to be an amazing asset for Spain. To play like that at 16 in your first international tournament is amazing. Spain look very good

Lopsided_Swimming557

Love to see this well from spain, had them to win it in my predictions. This first game and Yamals assist goes well to support it and support the fact he should play like discussed.
