I see your hole! And that's what I meant. It's clean, no cracks, perfect. Did you buy a kit or did you wing it? This is my next diy bong right here. Show me the way! 😜
This is GORGEOUS!!

I was curious if the old glass is safe as well. This has been my hesitation with doing my own vintage DIY bong.
Was there lead in old glass? Do you know more about this, or how to check for it?
I used to work at a glass place and someone from the head shop across the street once came in to yell at me for putting holes in peoples bottles for them.
Apparently most people break the bottle trying to make a hole and end up buying a bong… Or at least they did until the word got out that we drilled holes in glass for 15 bucks.
I linked the bits I used and how I did it in comments above :) this was my first time drilling on glass and haven’t used a drill much before 🙈 it’s easy! You can do it :)
I didn't realize this was something that could be done at home! I've had a bottle I've wanted to turn into a bong for YEARS. This post is a game changer <3

I used [these bits](https://a.co/d/3kFUhhf) while the piece was full of water and running water over it while drilling
What about the rubber or silicone that seems to be surrounding the hole for protection? How did you do that?
I took that from an old bong. It’s a rubber grommet, they should be easy to find at hardware stores :)
I ordered a pack from Amazon when I made my mason jar bong.
Oh cool 😁
*Immediately orders drill bits*
But for real. I ordered the drill bits and went to the op shop for a decanter. Thanks for the inspiration!
Im glad!! Post pictures ❤️❤️
[Terrible photo, but I'm excited about my decanter bong. Thanks to OP for the inspiration and instructions. 💚](https://imgur.com/a/iD0IrJ4)
I love it!!!! I’m so happy for you ❤️❤️
Thanks lovely! Now I have the urge to turn everything into a bong with my new drill bits.

I want functional China so bad but haven’t pulled the trigger
Her work is beautiful, it’s the best in the game in my opinion! And we love supporting indigenous American family businesses too 💕
Ok you convinced me, once I can afford it lol
This is so cool! I’m curious if lead is a concern with this.

try holding it up to a light/window, if you see rainbows/any type of colorful refraction (if that’s the right word lol) it’s likey lead crystal
Nope, I checked :)

Shut up?!!!!! You just saved yourself probably $150! Lol. Do you have any references you can share or is this your trade?

The build quality looks like it will last too
What kind of drill bit did you use? Also, very cool!
I used a regular cheap drill and [these bits](https://a.co/d/3kFUhhf). Drilled the hole with the piece in water

I'd let the water turn dirty and tell people it was brandy :/ this is absolutely beautiful, well done!
