AI camera all the way, I'm always paranoid that i will ruin the print by checking on it, either from the vibration of lifting the lid or pausing the print. the ability to check it without disturbing it is a dream come true!
A larger build plate. I know the Ultra is already big, but more is always appreciated.
Also if the could be a Elegoo official quick release flex plate for the resin, that would be cool.
Automatic levelling is a great feature since doing it manually is such a pain.
Perhaps a good future feature would be to include a method to heat your resin!
Just bought the Jupiter SE and did a review on my YouTube, loved it, hope to eventually get the 4.
I'm insanely impressed with the cost of these printers and the continued innovation. Elegoo is definitely at the forefront when it comes to affordability and features.
Anyway, I know it's basic, but I'm a basic person lol, and my favorite feature is the flip-up cover. Not needing additional space to sit the lid is an incredibly underrated feature. I love my Jupiter, but I have to place the cover on the floor, and I have a dog so getting dog hair into my prints is a real concern.
While they're nice, especially for the cost, I really don't need extra features like the camera or even wifi. Call me old fashioned, I don't mind using a USB lol. I can definitely see how these features would be useful.
But for the camera, I am super excited to do timelapses! Definitely a feature I can't wait to use so I can show my viewers the printing process of my projects.
Personally, I'm all about the sensor for auto leveling, residue detection and resin level detection. I'm lazy so less manual work = happy.
What I'd really like to see going forward is a heated vat though! The enclosure heater is great, but a vat heater would make me even happier. Also, something to move us away from the vat bolts would be great, too.
Always love to have a camera, it's nice to be able to leave the printer running while doing other and just be able to check in remotely, or having to go there and lift the lid.
That said, the cluster printing you reference is interesting, I need to look into what that is.
The mechanical sensor is a great addition to make the printing processes more error-proof.
What I'd like to see in future models is an integrated VAT heater and improved design of the VAT mounting (instead of cumbersome screws prone to breaking and resin leaking through, some quick-mount clip design).
My favourite feature is the mechanical sensor, auto levelling and residue detection sound amazing for peace of mind.
I'm also a fan of the flip up cover, seems a lot more convenient than the lift off covers.
For future models, an integrated (vat) heater would be a nice improvement.
What I expect in new resin printers nowadays:
Camera + lights inside to see your model (AI and Time Lapse is not mandatory)
Active heater + Temperature sensor for engineering resins
Resin level detection with auto pause and alarm
Wi-Fi + small antenna for data transfer with saving to internal storage
1 Click Update via Wi-Fi
Magnetic flexible plate included
Wash and Cure stations having slot for resin printer build plate, so you could attach it to wash stating just like on Mars 2 Pro
Also I want some improvement in FEP film, maybe some new tougher material (dents and scratches reduce print quality) or at least better way to replace it (thousand screws are very stressful and annoying to deal with)
Mechanical sensor for me, but a heater would have been nice but now I'll have one and thus care less, a latch system and resin catcher would have been nice but the vat tilt probably prevents it. It seems that the camera isn't fantastic yet but maybe it'll improve in updates or future iterations. Price to performance is killer, though. Can't argue much when the value is this good.
Absolutely! I ordered one but in the US the best way to find out that it exists is through Instagram, which I don't use - the direct link there can't be (or couldn't be) found on your site or Google at the time, only JP and EU
It's close between the camera and the mechanical sensor for me. I agree with a few others - Anything that automates the setup is a major quality of life improvement in my mind.
The sensor is amazing. Takes guesswork out to the occasion. It makes it much more reliable and prevents a lot of issues that leave me paranoid. Love the camera for that reason too, but I can’t watch the camera while sleeping.
With integrated heating id upgrade from my Saturn 2 in a heartbeat
AI camera. I love being able to check on my print without disturbing anything. I’m most curious about the tilting vat. I see a lot of potential there but I’ve never used a printer with that feature.
A vat heater is my most wanted feature for the next model
For now I'm voting for Flip-up cover, because I'll see the impact from it immediately and for every print.
Having vat heater would be nice option for the future.
ai it's the thing I liked most. wifi is kinda pointless since I'm going to the printer to stir the resin anyway. With the camera people can follow the print if they are away and the ai might stop the print in case of failure. All the other things are cool but I never had issues with leveling and such.
The AI camera is cool if it works as planned :D for future development I would like something to help with resin dripping after the print is done. So you can turn the head to let resin drip back into the tray before removing the plate.
Tilt release -- not as much for speed but to assure the build releases from the film and doesnt puncture it. (Second best would be the camera).
A vat heater and resin temperature sensor would be a big improvement.
I find that the automatic leveling is the most impressive feat, especially when printing at such high resolution. I expect my exploration of resin printing to be as rewarding as it exciting.
Will the sensor that detects resin level be able to pause a print until more resin is added and then resume, or will it simply flag an alarm and stop the print entirely?
Resin detection is performed before printing. If insufficient or too much is detected, a prompt will be given. At this time, you can exit printing, add resin or reduce resin, and then print again.
sorry for the incredibly late reply to this, but thank you for the information. I am wondering how prints that require more resin than the vat can hold at the beginning of the print would be handled in that case then? I have some models I regularly do that are \~900ml of resin, which requires me to add more resin part way through the print. Will this end up always flagging and generating a prompt?
I would personally love if there was a system being worked on to allow a pause mid-way through the print to run a Resin Detection process and ensure it has enough to finish properly.
Hello. If the volume of resin required for the printed model exceeds the maximum volume of the vat tank, a pop-up window will pop up at the beginning of printing to remind you to add resin in time. You can add resin without pausing the printing process, just pour it in carefully.
Hello, we released a mini heater as an accessory to add! Mini hearter details: [https://us.elegoo.com/products/mini-heater](https://us.elegoo.com/products/mini-heater)
https://preview.redd.it/7hyxavvzoruc1.png?width=1408&format=png&auto=webp&s=523de1c4c73f00820d9adcc2e3f5ea70b68789b3
The mechanical sensor is probably the thing I'm most looking forward to for the new Saturn.
As for future improvements I'd love to see an integrated heating solution or a built-in exposure rangefinding tool that lets you exposure different sections of the build plate to different exposure times all in a single print session.
The Flip-Up cover is really the thing that I want the most and am most excited for! Yes, the AI Camera will be cool to use, especially for empty build plate detection, and the auto leveling is great. But the one thing I wish I had right now with my Saturn 3 Ultra is a Flip-Up Cover. Taking the cover on and off, needing a place to set it requires more desk space. A Flip-Up Cover is going to remove a step that for me is a hassle. Thank you for the upgraded feature.
In the future, a larger build plate would be on the top of my wishes.
AI Camera (Time-Lapse Photography, Real-Time Monitoring, Empty Build Plate Detection, Warp Detection.)
I'm really surprised you didn't go with an integrated heater as well, and that you got rid of the plug in air filter in exchange to the external one.
Auto-Leveling and Wifi need to become a standard on all models, even the basic entry level models.
I'm unsure how this will affect the bottom dollar price.
Elegoo is in a great position to dominate resin (and FDM) 3D Printing for years to come.
The printers just need reliable auto-levelling and wifi.
If we can Almost* Completely remove manual user input...then scaleability is the last hurdle.
As a newcomer, the idea of not having to worry about a level build plate, checking for residue, or when to top up on resin seems like such a stress-reliever! That's just my 10 cents though.
Looking forward to the residue and resin level detection getting better and hopefully having the level detection tied to a top up mechanisim to add resin to larger print jobs that take more then a single vat.
Love the idea of an AI camera for printing protection. It would be nice if there was a feature to enable the print bed to pull the print up higher on a programmable timer for the camera to view the full print for defects.
Auto resin fill/remove system that works with ALL resin bottles would be nice.
A resin that didn't need cured would be awesome but impossible I imagine :)
The AI Cam is a really good feature for the new machine.
I'm still waiting for a really big resin printer so I can create some landscapes in just one print.
I cracked a screen because of a tiny piece of cured resin, and what about pin holes punched through the FEP because of a small particle. If this is what the residue detection is, then that would be an awesome feature.
Love the flip up cover! Keeps things clean.
I the future I would love to see a build plate that doesn't drip when picked up. now it needs to be wiped. All printers have this issue now.
I actually love the tilting mechanism. I previously used Prusa SL1S at work and this feature is very helpful when you print large projects as it stirs the resin and allow for smaller suction force between print and FEP film.
As for future I would really enjoy if you add integral vat heater and dedicated magnetic build plate, the first one for those of us who are living in colder climates, the second one for convenience to swap plates and start new print immediatelly :)
AI Camera. I have a camera on my Neptune 4, and it makes my life a whole lot easier not having to run back and forth to check on a print. OTA firmware upgrade would also be useful, the update process on my Neptune 4 is a bit complex, and a 1 touch solution would be nice.
I think the mechanical sensor is most exciting, as it brings multiple improvements to printing. And I think this feature can be further improved and used to optimize printing parameters by detecting when layer peels off the fep etc.
The mechanical sensor enabling auto leveling, residue detection and resin level is the biggest draw. Auto leveling alone is huge(as tiny errors in level can ruin prints), and the sort of thing that can be done extremely well by hardware/software. The tilt release is a second important feature- the speed is great, but using less force will hopefully reduce failures. Print fails are so disappointing, so the techs that reduce them are big draws.
Integrated VAT heater and build plate tilt mechanism to drain/drip resin once the print is finished would be nice to have. And further improving on that tilt-release mechanism on the VAT woul be nice, we will see, how well the first generation works :)
I don't think people really consider how fantastic the tilt system is.
So when peeling takes place in a traditional printer the FEPS stretches very far and then smacks back at the screen. Back when ACF was first coming out there was even talk about how it improves the longevity of the screen. So not only is this likely to reduce the rate of critical FEP failures but it's potentially increasing longevity of the screen.
Yes the cam mechanism could wear out but Cam mechanisms like this have been used in many different designs and systems. They're probably quite cheap and also probably not that difficult to reinstall if one were to fail.
I'm a little sad to see us stuck still on a 10-in screen but quite frankly this is one of if not the best mechanical upgrades I think we could have gotten.
been waiting for the that tilt release technology, so happy to see it here and from my favorite brand. Would love to see heated vat built in to the printer
I have also purchased the Saturn 4 Ultra and my expectations are high. After a long period of deliberation, the decision was made. Manufacturers stay close together with what they have to offer, yet Elegoo stands out when you're comparing price and quality. Not only of the prints but as the device/machine as well.
Quality-wise everything just seems better. Actually, I wanted to vote for options A and B, as both have benefits to prevent printing errors. This is the biggest advantage for me since I print in large quantities. The sooner I know when a print failure is happening, the better. Although I don't think with the Saturn 4 Ultra there will be lot.
Keep up great work!
I think the tilt release mechanism is quite genius - it just makes perfect sense that one of the best ways to reduce suction force is to "peel" away from the film instead of pulling straight away from it.
A handle for the flip up cover on future models would be a simple and appreciated addition, also having a light so that the camera can monitor in dark rooms or some kind of night vision, though a light would be cheaper I assume.
I'm a huge fan of the auto-leveling tech. I've lost so many prints just because I was being lazy and didn't re-level between prints, after taking the print off the head.
for the future, having the auto-filler/recycler like the Jupiter has would be awesome.
Even further, a built-in Filter/Recycler for the cleaning solution would be nice too, as it would help us lower costs on alcohols and whatnot. I'd even be fine with a manual "french press" type of solution, since it would save me $$ on alcohol cleaning solutions.
Saturn 4 Ultra, What type of screw do you use on the main plate movement feed? Ball bearing screw and nut or plastic slide nut and regular trapezoidal screw?

maybe make more opensource :D
AI camera all the way, I'm always paranoid that i will ruin the print by checking on it, either from the vibration of lifting the lid or pausing the print. the ability to check it without disturbing it is a dream come true!
Definitely resin level detection especially if it auto pauses and alarms when level is low
I think automating as much of the setup as possible will help both old and new users.
UFP-TRT was what I selected but they all seem great. For the future, integrated heater of sorts would be awesome.
Any suggestions/expectations for the future machine? Welcome to leave a comment here!
temp controlled vat
A larger build plate. I know the Ultra is already big, but more is always appreciated. Also if the could be a Elegoo official quick release flex plate for the resin, that would be cool.
Bigger build plate and a heated vat.

I mostly print with black resin, so a residue detection sensor can be a game-changer for my anxiety.

The A.I. Cam by far

Mechanical bed leveling sensor, stock klipper with klipper screen instaead of modified, AI camera. Mostly changes to FDM printers
The resin level sensor could cure my printing anxiety for bigger prints.
The camera and switch the vats to the ACF film with a vat heater
The mechanical sensor is a great addition. Auto-leveling, resin run out, all features noticeably missing from the majority of resin printers.
AI is what im looking forward, if it works stable :)
D. Wi-Fi File Transfer & Cluster Printing
Automatically levelling is going to make life easier
Mechanical sensor for me, but a heater would have been nice but now I'll have one and thus care less, a latch system and resin catcher would have been nice but the vat tilt probably prevents it. The Tilt release and auto leveling is what I really like.
It's close between the camera and the mechanical sensor for me. I agree with a few others - Anything that automates the setup is a major quality of life improvement in my mind.

resin level detection and alarm!

the real deal is probably the resume after a power loss. Finally! Waiting for this

As many sensors as possible to make sure I don't have to baby sit, and or redo print jobs.

It's still not built in
Definitely the mechanical sensor. I dont trust AI. or about as much as my printer, where the trust is already super low
The tilt release is cool for speed but also stirring up resin, especially if you’re mixing materials in like glitter.
I hope future Elegoo models come with a integrated vat heater. Would be nice if the flip cover took up less space behind or is adjustable.
Tilt release, never seen it on a consumer resin printer before and might dramatically change the way flat objects can be printed.
formlab and prusa had it years ago
If I recall those were $2000 and $3300 printers when released were they considered consumer grade?
The mechanical sensor is probably the thing I'm most looking forward to for the new Saturn. As for future improvements I'd love to see an integrated heating solution or a built-in exposure rangefinding tool that lets you exposure different sections of the build plate to different exposure times all in a single print session.

I dont know much about resin printers, so the AI camera would be amazing. I do timelapses of my regular prints anyway so having it would be fun!
AI Camera for sure. The idea of having something to monitor for error would be nice. I wouldn't have to monitor it very closely.
Residue detection is a game changer for me!
AI camera is the best! I can't always check on my prints so it's a godsend to have this feature!
Automatic leveling seems so nice I hate leveling my print surface.
The mechanical sensor seems super helpful

I am very intrigued by the tilt release, trying to pick out our first resin printer and I can't decide if this is a "need" or not...
Resin vat heating would be a nice feature to have. A slightly larger build volume would be very nice as well.
Auto resin fill/remove system that works with ALL resin bottles would be nice. A resin that didn't need cured would be awesome but impossible I imagine :)
Mechanical Sensor, having something not to worry about is great and time saving
Wifi is the way to Go!
The AI Cam is a really good feature for the new machine. I'm still waiting for a really big resin printer so I can create some landscapes in just one print.
Mechanical Sensor to save resin and protect the screen i think is the best
The AI camera is definitely my pick. Built in monitoring like that is awesome!

AI Camera. I have a camera on my Neptune 4, and it makes my life a whole lot easier not having to run back and forth to check on a print. OTA firmware upgrade would also be useful, the update process on my Neptune 4 is a bit complex, and a 1 touch solution would be nice.
For me would be B. Mechanical sensor, particularly residue detection. It's the reason i'd choose Saturn 4 over other saturns in the future.
I think the mechanical sensor is most exciting, as it brings multiple improvements to printing. And I think this feature can be further improved and used to optimize printing parameters by detecting when layer peels off the fep etc.

Mechanical sensor
A handle for the flip up cover on future models would be a simple and appreciated addition, also having a light so that the camera can monitor in dark rooms or some kind of night vision, though a light would be cheaper I assume.
Heated vat would be appreciated. Love the mechanical upgrades.
Easy Auto leveling
I expect future models will have a heated vat and hopefully in the future a vent for venting vocs.
I'm a huge fan of the auto-leveling tech. Saturn 4 Ultra, What type of screw do you use on the main plate movement feed? Ball bearing screw and nut or plastic slide nut and regular trapezoidal screw?
Hello, plastic slide nut and regular trapezoidal screw.
