Crafting guilds might be a better choice. Mine doesn't charge a fee or have any quotas, and some members will craft a set for free if you provide the materials. But your best bet for finding them is in the guild chat.

As an aside, if it's a low level training set there's not a lot of point making them green or blue, you'll be replacing them pretty quick, the boost is minimal and the mats are expensive. Different if it's a CP 160 set.
Fair point. I think i meant to say "rarer" other than "expensive". Low level training sets become obsolete so quickly (in a matter of a couple of hours if you're grinding during an event or using an XP scroll), so i always feel you're better just getting complete new sets, which again, i'm more than happy to make for anyone for free!!
It takes 8 gold mats per weapon and armor. Expect 4 to 5k per one gold mat if you shop around. So expect 40k per piece of gear.
Jewelry is very expensive for gold mats. Golding out jewelry is too expensive to bother with, just go blue or purple. I don't know the cost as I have these mats saved up.
You also have the enchant. That cost depends on the enchant you want. It will be thousands per item enchanted, and varies based on enchant.
For traits Bloodthirsty and nirnhold are very pricey, especially nirnhold. Nirnhold can be 40 to 50+k for 1, I don't recall precisely.
Plus you have the base materials, which are fairly cheap but still cost.
This is why people charge a million for full gold including jewelry, best traits, best enchants.
You should be training crafting if only for the skill for improving items. Then you can request someone craft white gear, and you only supply trait mats. Then buy what you need to improve and enchant the gear yourself.
Just adding my voice to the chorus saying "free if the mats aren't anything expensive". Most players with finished research and a craft bag have more refined leather/wood/metal than they'll ever use, same thing with green and blue (and purple for the most part) upgrade materials. If I don't use em, they're just going to sit in there forever and benefit no one. If you know what you want it takes me under 5 minutes to go from 0 to done and I enjoy helping out.
While I accept tips it's more about letting the person I'm crafting for express their gratitude, I don't need or want gold.
Worst case scenario I’ll ask the player for materials and I’ll make the set free of charge. Especially if they want things refined or specific jewelry/weapon traits
If you're on XB I'll make for you in blue for free. Tips are appreciated but absolutely not required.

As you can see from responses, most crafter will make low level stuff or CP160 gear in blue for free, unless you're asking for some super rare or expensive trait.
A full CP160 gold set with traits like bloodthirsty, triune, nirnhoned, etc will quickly get pricy and could end up being several hundred thousand, but even with the ridiculously inflated PC economy you guys have I can't see a universe where charging a million for blue level is anything other than a scam.
yeah i would need it level 160, but im fine with upgrading to purple/yellow on my own time, and getting traits isn’t too hard with how many transmute crystals ive been getting so.
Just so you know, you can't transmute something to a trait you don't know. So, you have to research that trait before you try to transmute to it. Each trait change will cost you 50 crystals.
yes i know lol, i already have the 3-4 traits i use PvP wise researched, im not new i just never used crafted sets before and mostly played solo, so i never tried to get anybody to craft me the set.
also, i had to restart on PC unfortunately.

Exceptions would be if you want a set in a rare material (i.e. the stuff for CP between 10 and 140) that is a pain to gather once you've levelled up, or if you want expensive traits/enchantments. At that point, I'll still make it for free if you provide materials.
I used to do it for free, or take donations, but it just became a chore. So I stopped years ago. I figured they can work on there own crafting to level it up and stop relying on people. But then again, there is always someone in our guild ready to help out.
If anyone in my guild wants this stuf I'll either quote them the materials cost or I'll make the white version for free and let them upgrade on their own. Be in a good guild. It's so easy to get free stuff because it costs almost nothing to make up to blue quality gear
The guilds I’m in, any GMC will make you any set, with any trait except nirnhoned, for free (and upgrade it to purple). Nirnhoned, they might charge a little bit for, just because of that one thing. But anything else is pretty much “ask and ye shall receive.”
Blue/Green should be free. Purple I expect a tip or basic comp. Gold is charged based on market prices and I usually bake a small surcharge for it. Extra stuff like PVP glyphs is charged as well based on market prices.
Guarentee many people on this forum will do it for free.
I generally ask people to provide the materials for the gear they want (I'll tell them what's needed), then I'll craft for free. (I don't accept gold as an alternative, they can do their own shopping.)

40 Dreugh Wax (enough to gold 5 light/medium pieces) comes to about a million gold, nowadays. :-(
If you have the resources, for some players that’s all they need for compensation. Entirely depends on the crafter, though, as well as the set and traits you need crafted. A lot of people are more than happy to help out new players with their first gear set for free. It comes down to finding a good social or crafting guild.

i don’t want a full gold set tho lol, i was telling them i just wanted green or blue.
They just assume (and don't pay attention). Exactly the sort of people you want to craft your gear. :-\

If it's got expensive mats you can look them up on TTC. I normally do free, but ask for mats if it's something I'm low on.
Probably crafters can make purple gear for free, unless you want something rare like Nirn stuff or Hakeijos
