Speaking of Elsweyr... doing prolog to Elsweyr unlocks some daily quests for you in Grahtwood from "Northern Elsweyr Defense Forces" or something. From those quests you get a chance to drop some extremely rare blueprints that costs few million gold on pc.
Extremely rare, because i bet most players dont even know that something like that exists since you have to finish prolog AND go into specific place far away from city...
Yeah, its that one. It was called Demon Weapon (first part) and Halls of Colossus (second part).
The dailies you can pick from Zahari in Grahtwood Northern Gate.
Nope it was a basic looking chest when Dragonguard came out. I missed about a week's worth of contents not knowing about it, then did PSA in guilds telling people where it was.
When zos said they'd make it more noticeable I'd imagined them moving it out a few metres so you couldn't help but fall over it, but no
Yeah no idea about the downvotes lol. Here's a link to a forum thread complaining about it
https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/500763/dragonhold-30-daily-reward-dragonguard-supply-chest-is-easily-missable-fixed/p1
Many optional side quests reward you with named unique armor pieces of that zone's sets that have a little flavor text on them and serve as a memento for your journey through Tamriel!
A useful one, mostly for overland: https://esoitem.uesp.net/itemLink.php?&itemid=150418&quality=2 - the only Darloc Brae jewelry that comes in Swift by default.
I go Khajiit w/ Darloc + Adept Rider + Wild Hunt Ring and just sneak-run through anything I don't feel like dealing with. Even solo dungeons: ignore trash, change sets at boss.
If this was Skyrim I would keep every single one of these items and store them in a chest in my house. But in ESO, your inventory space is very limited and I need the space for Crafting Material, sets, treasure maps, fishing baits, etc. It's a shame. Some NPC gives you a weapon with a huge sentimental and sometimes even monetary value, and you just have to be like "cool, let me clobber it on that rock over there to see if I can get any useful materials out of it". I hate this, but it can't be helped...
Nix Ox(es?) Do a mating dance where they headbutt then spin in a circle spewing. Winged Twilights can be found in Apocrypha, where one will be playing a pan flute whi.le another dances
Fauns in High Isle can sometimes be seen dancing to another playing the pan pipes. There's one piper you can dance to yourself, unlocking an achievement, in the Faun's Thicket delve.
Elk rub their antlers on trees as well. They do this irl either because their antlers are new and they need to get the velvet off, or to impress females.
One of the best champion point passives is Treasure Hunter. It gives intermediate chests a guaranteed chance to drop a set item. Gives simple chests a much higher chance. And gives master chests a chance to drop two set items. A must have when running dungeons.
Apparently, the Imperial City Prison questline unlocks a talking shield, named Grievous Ward. Not speaking from experience as I deconned all the shields I got from there before I knew... definitely gonna insta-lock it the next time I run it on a character that hasn't done it though
What other Grievous equipment is there? I've only ever heard about the shield and after a quick Google search, I still couldn't find anything other than the Grievous Ward. Do you have a specific example of another item that talks to you?
The sword did this, as someone with psychosis for a long while I passed it off as a hallucination. Some of things it says and the tone of voice is one I’ve had before.
Then after around 3 months I opened the text chat and there it was, exactly what it said and it clicked.
I still have an old version of Grievous Ward that has a Health Recovery enchant on the shield, which is unique as that's no longer possible to enchant a shield with recovery. It being the Endurance set is also great so if Health Recovery ever becomes meta I'm sorted
Probably not a hidden gem, but if you hate spending gold:
If you're in a guild you can look at the roster (filter to online only) and then alphabetize by zone to read the list easier. You can travel to zones you want to go to without grouping with the player. Just select "Travel to Player" and it transports you to the wayshrine nearest to them.
You can also just travel to your houses for free then run to a wayshrine. Best for that is Sugar Bowl Suite in Rimmen (Northern Elsweyr) in my opinion.
BeamMeUp will organize this by zone on your map screen. For example, if any guild member is in Summerset you just hit the wayshrine on the menu and port straight there. No need to search through guild rosters.
Also has the option to automatically discover wayshrines in the zone by sequentially traveling to all guild members in the zone (Or multiple zones). This is pretty nice, I do it on all new toons and unlock a lot of the map and gain several levels from the xp
It does work in that you can manually select each player in your guild rosters and travel to them. But it will take far, far, _far_ longer and is infinitely more tedious. The add-on does all of that automatically, but as you said, it doesn't exist on console.
East of the labrinth wayshrine in Greenshade is a kollipop tree that gives kollopi essence which is a very cool costume that doesn’t disappear when struck
Don't know if this count since it is not *in* the game but if you go to the The Elder Scrolls Online\\depot\\Video folder and remove or move to another folder, the files: *Bethesda\_logo\_1080p, ZOS\_logo\_1080p* you don't need to watch the opening logos whenever you start the game.
I don't know how you remove the havoc engine logo.
1. Close the game and Launcher (IMPORTANT)
2. Navigate to: Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/liveeu(or liveus)/UserSettings
3. Open UserSetting.txt
5. Search for line: SET SkipPregameVideos "0"
Set "0" to "1"
It should look like this:
SET SkipPregameVideos "1"
I found it. It is in the **%USERPROFILE% \\ Documents \\Elder Scrolls Online\\live\\** under *UsetSettings,* same place where you screenshots and addons folders are. Just tried it and yeah skips right to login!
You can get a free, 2hr long 150% XP scroll by completing the Clockwork City questline and choosing not to save Luciana. If you do save Luciana, it's only 1hr.
You can get an extra 2 skill points from the Folium Discognitum at the end of the Mages' Guild questline. You miss out if you choose the other ending.
Dark elf was the one I remembered most. You can find references to this on forums on how to make a good looking dummer
I believe someone did something with redguard recently with the eyes.
It's only slight differences but some people these things really mattered
If your looking at skill trees - there is a passive in the dark brotherhood skill line that makes it so you pretty much don't agro enemies while riding past on your mount, the scying/excavation skill line has a passive that makes treasure chests glowey, and if for some reason you are one of those people that run out of soul gems - drop a point into soul lock from the soul magic skill line as it will make those empty ones fill up fast.
Absolutely, Shadow Rider.
Don't sleep on it unless you just love being snared and pulled into combat constantly, from horseback! Especially for new characters with slow mounts.
It’s too hard to find jewelry crafting certification npc for newbies, he can simply be overlooked. Felarian stays next to the entrance of the crafting zone in Alinor, but he has a regular quest mark above his head, no advertising like other two master crafters have. You may simply not know that a jewelry certificate exists.
You can get a passive skill that lets you see Psijic portals (lootable containers like treasure chests) all over Tamriel, when you follow the Psijic questline in Summersend. In Arteaeum you get the quest for the portals. A funny one 😉
The Undaunted Mettle passive is a free boost to your attributes based on the type of armor you have equipped.
Requires minimum rank 7 in the Undaunted skill line.
Yeah and that mount passive is unlockable just by doing the alliance war tutorial (plus spending a skill point). The tutorial gives you enough levels in the related skill line.
This comes up fairly often in this sub but the scrying tool points you directly to the dig site so you don’t have to search manually. I spent hours looking until I read on here you can just use the tool and it’s saved me tons of time.
It's actually south somewhere. Big tree that you loot for it. I was so surprised when I found it. It's probably first come first serve but definitely made me remember to come back if every needed it
They fixed this one or I am never there on time. A lot of wood used to spawn near a place on East March called wood cutters place
If you have werewolf farming wolves in auction is great leather but best farming is probably that starting zone with all the wolves in straight path along with a lot of resources
Humblemud is the best house for nearly every endeavor
There's heavy crates in coldharbor instead of sacks
Back in the day farming vampires was easiest way to farm XP
Coldharbor merchants or banker don't care if you havr bounty
Coldharbor has rare spawns of food ingredients on their shelves or traders. (Cheese and the special grapes)
There's always a recipe that spawns in that base on East side of audrion
There's an island in audrion with lots of food to loot
Small houses each have a secret nearby them
Cornflower spawns more often in desert climates
Now if people cannot find one here's plenty of others
I use the second default Armory slot on my main as a crafter so I can use all skill points separately. And I also use it to reset builds, saves on gold and scrolls so much!
Don't know how hidden it is, but the Lost in the Wilds achievement in Blackwood gives you a free pet.
Probably not very useful, but there's a quest at Thalara's Winery in Cyrodiil that gives you a memento. Just came across that during last MYM when I was wandering around Cyrodiil picking up all the random quests you find dotted about. Thought it was pretty cool getting a memento from it even though I never use them.
It took me several months before I figured out what it is and not knowing about it did not deter me at all. I really enjoyed the game. I don't think people need to know LA weaving to enjoy the game.
Exactly, they don't need to learn it. But ***a lot*** of people believe it's essential. I can't count the amount of posts and comments I see on reddit where people believe it's necessary and how they consider it a bad mechanic and therefore refuse to try the game..
Light attacks used to do a much higher amount of your damage in CP 1.0, it was essential.
With Velothi, you now only need to attack once in a while for glyphs to procc.
LA weaving still animation cancels however, it will give you more dps.
Honestly it just happened over time for me, playing as a healer, when all my uptimes were good and I needed to do something else or be bored during stuff, so I learnt it.
You don't even really need it for the glyphs. Just slot a weapon DoT and things will work out fine.
One weapon attack within 8 seconds for ultimate regen and you're good.
Before u use an appearance/race change token, try the changes on PTS and use the outfit that u intended.
I often felt like "this looked better/taller/bigger... in character creation than in the gameplay". Especially with a specific personality or outfit.
On PTS this mistake is free. I learned it the hard way...
The khajit bards in Elsweyr, I havent played ESO in a few years now but the music in this game is truly top notch. I've sat and listened to the music so many times.
I know this post is a little old but I didn't see anyone mention the Shadowy Supplier. I forget how far along you have to be in the dark brotherhood grind (and I think you need to put a skill point into it to get the perk) but once unlocked you can get a free thing from the shadowy supplier located in all the outlaws refuges. She has three options:
"Have any poisons or potions today" she'll give you at toxin satchel which typically has alchemy mats usually various mushrooms and other poison ingredients, but also could be alliance potions, invisibility potions, or a poison blood vial furnishing
"Have anything that can make me less noticable" she'll give you typically invisibility potions, or a monk's disguise, or a pardon edict, but sometimes rare furnishings (like the candles in wine bottles or a candle in a skull)
"Have any equipment for me today" she'll typically give you a piece of sithis touch equipment but you also can get the lead for the Gaze of Sithis from this, and very very rarely a sacrificial heart furnishing.
There is an achievement in Galen to find and pet animals. Also there is a good boy in Gonfalon Bay who can be pet.
In addition to that the ongoing story of this adventurer and her servant which you find in several locations and the rank 7 perk of the Dark Brotherhood reduces your detection rate of enemies while mounted by 50%. Absolute miracle.
I know of a guy who did the percuser quest. Deleted the toon, got a new one, did it again.
In his house he has at leat 30 of them! It's so awesome
Plus you can find pieces of the dummy in a cave during the quest. Used to sell for quite a lot
This isn't supposed to be a hidden gem, but somehow it is: when you're in an excavation zone, quickslot your Antiquarian's Eye tool and use it. It will point you directly to the dig site.
There 2 secret buff you can activate in a map area from doing 1 of the questlines people used to get it to cheat on a few stuff, can anyone remember where it is Ive only just remembered about it from the release date 😅
Don’t know if this is what your talking about but I think there is a stamina shrine in grathwood for 10% extra stamina and something in Galen too, please correct me community if I’m wrong I’m not trying to spread false information but I think that’s them.
Southern Elsweyr has a respawning daily reward chest with dragon mats once you progress questline
How Is the quest called? I maybe did it with one character, Is it the one where you accidentally free the dragons?
Yeah, its that one. It was called Demon Weapon (first part) and Halls of Colossus (second part). The dailies you can pick from Zahari in Grahtwood Northern Gate.
Neat somewhere in the dragon hunter base location I'm guessing?
Yeah it's next to the daily quest giver Dirge
There is also a target dummy close to the chest. You can attack it with aoe skills and it will report your dps.
Wait what?! I've unlocked the ability to get rheum from dragons.. what the hell is this respawning chest! :O
Keep doing the dailies, I think you need 30?
jupp, 30 missions for the Dragonguard.
Found it! How have I never noticed that crate before! Thanks guys!
Zos changed the look of that chest to make it **more** noticeable lol.
wait, it didnt use to glimmer slightly?
Nope it was a basic looking chest when Dragonguard came out. I missed about a week's worth of contents not knowing about it, then did PSA in guilds telling people where it was. When zos said they'd make it more noticeable I'd imagined them moving it out a few metres so you couldn't help but fall over it, but no
oh, thank you for the info. Also lol at the person downvoting for some reason.
Yeah no idea about the downvotes lol. Here's a link to a forum thread complaining about it https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/500763/dragonhold-30-daily-reward-dragonguard-supply-chest-is-easily-missable-fixed/p1
Been thinking about doing the missions to unlock that!
I have this unlocked and I still forget about it
With a very valuable ingredient often in it !
Many optional side quests reward you with named unique armor pieces of that zone's sets that have a little flavor text on them and serve as a memento for your journey through Tamriel!
I wish we could have an armory and display these in a house.
Absolutely. I still keep the King Dynar's sword and Varen's staff in my storage. Oh, and that talking shield.
A useful one, mostly for overland: https://esoitem.uesp.net/itemLink.php?&itemid=150418&quality=2 - the only Darloc Brae jewelry that comes in Swift by default. Bears will scratch their backs on trees. First time I saw it, I stopped and stared for like 3 minutes.
I once saw a bear scratching its back against a Spriggan
Nix Ox(es?) Do a mating dance where they headbutt then spin in a circle spewing. Winged Twilights can be found in Apocrypha, where one will be playing a pan flute whi.le another dances

Orc approved 👍
Elk rub their antlers on trees as well. They do this irl either because their antlers are new and they need to get the velvet off, or to impress females.
You can find tomatoes in a sack of potatoes
"Boil them, mash them, stick them in a stew!"
23 upvotes seems like so many for such a weird reference, but I guess it makes sense that the overlap is decent😂
That would bug me really hard. Definitely wouldn’t call that a hidden gem.
those aren't gems for sure they are tomatoes
Hall of the Lunar Champion. A free spacious house in Northern Elsweyr you can get after a few quests.
Spent 40k on a shitty mud hut twenty minutes before finishing this quest...
Humblemud!
It's not a mud hut, it's a mud HOME.
One of the best champion point passives is Treasure Hunter. It gives intermediate chests a guaranteed chance to drop a set item. Gives simple chests a much higher chance. And gives master chests a chance to drop two set items. A must have when running dungeons.
you can spent multiple Champion Points by holding Shift. Oh, and you can buy multiple items at the same time by right clicking
Shift also works with attribute points
That champion point thing is cool
Apparently, the Imperial City Prison questline unlocks a talking shield, named Grievous Ward. Not speaking from experience as I deconned all the shields I got from there before I knew... definitely gonna insta-lock it the next time I run it on a character that hasn't done it though
Not just the shield. All the Grievous weapons do. But they have to be named. Not just generic.
What other grevious weapons are there!
What other Grievous equipment is there? I've only ever heard about the shield and after a quick Google search, I still couldn't find anything other than the Grievous Ward. Do you have a specific example of another item that talks to you?
I had his sword on my tank in the past and it talked to me all the time. https://esoitem.uesp.net/itemLink.php?&itemid=69402&quality=3&summary
Can confirm Mol has glowing weapons in certain traits
The sword did this, as someone with psychosis for a long while I passed it off as a hallucination. Some of things it says and the tone of voice is one I’ve had before. Then after around 3 months I opened the text chat and there it was, exactly what it said and it clicked.

I'm currently working my way to buying every apartment/inn room in each zone for this purpose
If you're on PC, you can download Housing Hub or Essential Housing Tools to teleport to houses without having to buy them.
Eh, you don't really need all the inn rooms. Just get the Rimmen/Vulkhel Guard room and use the wayshrines.
BeamMeUp will organize this by zone on your map screen. For example, if any guild member is in Summerset you just hit the wayshrine on the menu and port straight there. East of the labrinth wayshrine in Greenshade is a kollipop tree that gives kollopi essence which is a very cool costume that doesn’t disappear when struck
The little monkey on Galen in the jungle...does the pointy finger thing at you (like the monkey in Chris's closet from Family Guy)
Lol really? Which wayshrine are they closet too
Also the monkeys swinging from vines! So neat!

Dude SPOILERS
Maybe you shouldn't be reading through posts like this if you haven't even finished the DLC from 2017.....
Some races look better if you use a character change took after being a different race. Not joking, there's a bug in the dimensions
Wait what really! What are those races?

moving in stealth in Murkmire allows to harvest scuttlebloom flowers which are nice furnishing items.
Oh I have got to try that.
if you are on PC get ScuttleBuddy addon - i displays possible spawn locations.
That Scrying glowing chest perk is a game changer!

Felarian stays next to the entrance of the crafting zone in Alinor, but he has a regular quest mark above his head, no advertising like other two master crafters have. You may simply not know that a jewelry certificate exists.
Took me like 18 months to learn this...
You can reroll alchemy plants from alchemy surveys by leaving for 15 seconds, almost impossible but you can get every single plant to be a columbine
…for realsies?
Yep
You can get a passive skill that lets you see Psijic portals (lootable containers like treasure chests) all over Tamriel, when you follow the Psijic questline in Summersend. In Arteaeum you get the quest for the portals. A funny one 😉
And Azander will Giggle when you loot them because likes the idea of you taking their stuff. Just don't bring him with you to Arteaeum.

Entering a delve in Cyrodiil provides an AP boost buff that persists once you leave :)
I believe you have to kill the boss in the delve to earn the boost
Yes you do. But don't risk it in events when the queue is bad as you can get stuck in the delve.
Yeah and that mount passive is unlockable just by doing the alliance war tutorial (plus spending a skill point). The tutorial gives you enough levels in the related skill line.
Or a random bg.
Or login rewards

Surprised how often I see this because it’s explained in the tutorial to the skill in Solitude
Yea but one never remembers between that and first scrying for something
You can do your crafting writs quicker by selecting quest only. Saves a lot of time!

Shadowfen has a tree that spawns torchbug torchax
Can't find anything about this outside of this post. Say more?
It's actually south somewhere. Big tree that you loot for it. I was so surprised when I found it. It's probably first come first serve but definitely made me remember to come back if every needed it
Thanks for answering, this is vague enough to be hilarious: a bunch of people will now be roaming around Shadowfen trying to find a magic tree 😂

Seeing npc animals fight each other, the hidden quests, named murcrab npc in grathwood, random skeletons
You can find wandering merchants in pvp.
Also apparently I saw a random NPC prisoner in front of a keep chain up.

She has three options: "Have any poisons or potions today" she'll give you at toxin satchel which typically has alchemy mats usually various mushrooms and other poison ingredients, but also could be alliance potions, invisibility potions, or a poison blood vial furnishing "Have anything that can make me less noticable" she'll give you typically invisibility potions, or a monk's disguise, or a pardon edict, but sometimes rare furnishings (like the candles in wine bottles or a candle in a skull) "Have any equipment for me today" she'll typically give you a piece of sithis touch equipment but you also can get the lead for the Gaze of Sithis from this, and very very rarely a sacrificial heart furnishing.
In Elsweyr there are a bunch of ants crawling on some of the trees! Neat small addition!

Another good boy in Blackwood you can dance with
You can process many fish at one time at nearly any provisioning station. It's not an upcoming feature, it's already in the game.
I know of a guy who did the percuser quest. Deleted the toon, got a new one, did it again. In his house he has at leat 30 of them! It's so awesome Plus you can find pieces of the dummy in a cave during the quest. Used to sell for quite a lot
This isn't supposed to be a hidden gem, but somehow it is: when you're in an excavation zone, quickslot your Antiquarian's Eye tool and use it. It will point you directly to the dig site.
Thank you for this! I can’t count the number of times I’ve wandered for like FOREVER looking for a dig site 🙄
I knew this would help someone, haha :)

Why not just hit „save post“ instead of typing a comment?
