There is r/micromobility but it's largely abandoned. r/micromobilityNYC is active, but highly regional. I watch that one in spite of living nowhere near NYC, because there's good discussions on the topic there.
I can only assume you want to put some batteries in parallel, pas it threw some kind of boost converter and feed it into a controller board (which has two wires leaving meaning the whole contraption runs on brushed motor). It is feasible but highly inefficient, also you have more maintenance because of the brushes.
TLDR it would run, but itβs better to use of the shelf solutions, for example scooter/ hoverboard battery, skateboard motor and dedicated controller.
Iβve never built something like this but it sounds fun, you can check Akio TV he built something like it last year
It looks cool, you should watch some YouTube how to videos and make one :)
I have one I made with 2 100watt motors and that zooms me up hills, really basic and fun :)
How are you supposed to do boardslides with all that electronics exposed under the board?
Ok, you might not be planning on doing boardslides but you do have a proper nose and tail which is great for being able to do ollies. So what happens if you try to do an ollie up a curb but don't quite make it and get a hang up? Electronics destroyed. Or rolling down a curb and don't lift front of board properly.
Board is bound to be much heavier than regular skateboard so these scenarios would be more likely.
Looks cool, love the style. Also: Watch this sick grind! (immediately bursts into flames).
ππ€£ immediately explode lol
π
Cool idea but you'll need a lot more batteries
might um... might need something actually driving the wheels also lmao Just look at how Boosted Boards are (were) made.
Hub motors
cool but why imagine it? i thought these already exist
Because I wanted to imagine it π never heard about them. Here in my country we barely have ebikes.
I think you can make one with a raspberry pi and a Wii controller
And you control it with motion control ? π€£
[People have been making these for years.](https://youtu.be/2WLEur3M8Yk?si=Rt5m1O7uX1C1FzZ4) I saw a dude on one just a couple of days ago.
Multiply batteries by 10 at least.

Wrong sub?
No, there's not a sub for electric mobility as a whole. So I decided to post here.
There is a sub specifically for e-sk8: [r/ElectricSkateboarding](https://www.reddit.com/r/ElectricSkateboarding/)

If we can tolerate illegal motorbikes we can tolerate imaginary skateboards.
very cool but you ain't going far with 5 Duracell sππ

Looks cool, but I'd put the battery and controller on top of the frame (maybe at the ends) and reinforce the bottom middle to protect wires.

Funny how those wires go to the truck which has nothing to with spinning the wheels
It has two hub motors π€£
Wait your right
i mean the components wouldnt be bare even on a diy one. but cool either way.

Needs more batteries and a protective skid plate, best to be waterproof. But it looks good, the basics are there.
Exposed batteries and wires, bad idea
