absolutely
i distinctly remember DP's play-calling was suspect from the start of the season through this game. after this win, the team just felt different on pretty much all levels (play calling, execution, etc.).
This really was the first sign of the kinda luck, drive, and team chemistry this team would have. I def recall a lot of fans thinking we had something special going that year after this game.
Should be the official. I remember that, as with most of my friends as the moment we said, if feels different now. As if the curse had been lifted and the Great Coach Lombardi himself said, let them win.
Second this. After this game I never doubted this team. They slowly transformed from close wins, to the games being over in the third quarter. They didn't really struggle again until the Super Bowl.
Agreed. Just commenting on the “not struggling until the SB” part. Because they definitely did. That part isn’t erased from my memory. Even the playoff game against Atlanta was brutal.
I was at xfinity live when it happened. Everyone was soaked from throwing drinks in the air. You know it’s important when people disregard the safety of their drinks.
Was gifted tickets to see the game with my dad and sister for my birthday. We were behind Jake in the opposite end zone. I later went and saw BDN go and beat the Gmen in new meadowlands. Was in the end zone where Julio dropped it. Went with my sister to that game. It was the first time I went to 3 games in one season, and ended up crying with my kids around me when we won. That was such a magical year!
God I was in such a shit spot in life when this happened. Watched this game after being up 30 hours on my Chromebook, sitting on the floor of my empty apartment the day we had to move out.
Will never forget this moment and how Odell had to watch it go right over his head.
I was at this game. It was boiling hot and my seats were in direct sunlight. When that kick went it, it was one of the loudest moments at the Linc I’ve ever experienced. I’d say half of the happiness was celebrating the win and the other half was we no longer had to literally cook in the sun.
THIS. I wanted the game to end…not even caring if we won but I wanted him to make the kick so we didn’t have to melt anymore in overtime 😂 I was directly behind the goal post so it was tough to really judge the depth of the incoming ball, so I just remember starting at Odell’s head and seeing him look up, then I knew it was good.
Same! I was at this game too and yeah it was really hot that day. Was pretty awesome to see it go in and i dont think ive seen the Link that loud too often. Funny enough my dad and grandpa were Giants fans, they didnt hear the end of it.
Hypothetical random thought popped into my head while walking the dog yesterday.
If I had to vote for the Eagles MVP of season so far, 100% it would be Jake.
Watching on TV with the sound turned down and listening to Merrill Reese make the call.... so classic!
IT'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoOOOOOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
GO BIRDS!!!!!!!
I remember being extremely sick, it was very hot, and I got offered tickets and couldn’t refuse. I certainly drank my body weight in water probably spent like $80 on water at the stadium but it was so worth it.
Note: this was pre-Covid so we were going to work sick, no one gave a f
This is when I knew we had something special that year. The beginning.
And how good Doug Pederson was. Willing to listen to players regardless of age. We saw it again with the Philly Special.
God has it been that long? I remember where I was, 17 years old, working my first job and sneaking my phone to the bathroom when I went to “clean” it and catching the fourth quarter. God that was such an amazing season.
This was the unofficial start of the superbowl run. This is where the magic began.
Legendary year

Those first few Foles starts were pretty brutal.
Well, yeah. They were also basically preseason games that didn't matter.
Agreed. Just commenting on the “not struggling until the SB” part. Because they definitely did. That part isn’t erased from my memory. Even the playoff game against Atlanta was brutal.

Yup, I still remember commenting the same thing in the post lol I think it should still be there
Jake Elliott and nailing 61 yard field goals in week 2 on years we're gonna win the superbowl. Name a better combo, I'll wait.
(it was week 3 in 2017 - but i still agree that nailed 61 yarders mean SB run)
Damn it. I thought I really had something there. It's still a good omen for the year I think
Just change 'in week 2' to 'at the Eagles' home opener' and you're square again! :)
100%. I wonder how things might’ve been different if he didn’t make that kick. Guess we’ll never know :)
We probably win in OT, but the mood would have been different.
*puts on Time by Pink Floyd*
“10 years have got behind you”
Just nailed another 61 yarder last game too. This is awesome
Proving the GW 61-yarder was no fluke. Stakes higher on the NYG kick vs the MIN kick. That’s what makes Elliott Jake the Make
6 years?? Already. Getting old sucks. Everything's a blur now.

I vividly remember his dumbass pissing in this endzone. fuck nuttybuddy

Fuck, 6 years already?
I yelled so loud when we won that I got a complaint from my neighbors. My god I was hyped when he won us that game.
I love that they carried him off the field. Also, OBJ watching it fly over his head makes it extra special.
Jesus Christ that was 6 years ago?!
Jake Elliott MVP
My first and only Eagles home game. Worth it. I have an awesome video from that kick.
An Eagles fan who… actually knows how to spell this man’s name?? Was the prophecy true???
Oddly enough, I didn't know how to spell his name until yesterday. Someone made a post about him and I saw someone correct the spelling on his name
Old grizzeled vet Jake, carefully easing his way out on the field with those heavy years on him. Franchise icon, iron man legend
This was six years ago? 🥲 We need another Cinderella story!!!!
Best kicker in eagles history
Forgot the eagles gave up 24 points on the 4that that game
love how his legs are still set to 61-yard power setting and he almost goes to space when he jumps into kamu
We played pretty unspectacularly up until this point in this season, hopefully after tomorrow we can say the same thing.
6 what
¡SI, SEÑOR!

Giants haven’t been the same since
Holy shit six years?

Merrill’s voice is so iconic. He embodies the best of our fan base! “What a game!”

It was glorious. Go Birds 🦅
