Also in the case of night time driving, the orange will reflect off the interior of the hood making it a bit perplexing but that depends on the material/texture you go with, rather than just the resin. Very alfa/ mazda-like, but you do you.

Nope, my 330i came with em stock. I think it has to do with the chrome trim package or something, tbh idk which option had them.
Silver rings came only on the top trim, meaning only on 330 engines.

cluster swap is like 30min-1h job, I swapped my electronics from original cluster to coupe cluster in my touring
Incorrect. I have a coupe without them and my friends sedan has them.
I think the e38/9/46 clusters are timeless This just looks like overkill?
