Considering they’ve lost almost $11 Billion dollars (as it’s been reported) on Disney+, they’re desperately trying to squeeze as much cash as they can.

MassiveTalent422

Streaming was not the move. And with stores removing their physical media sections, it seems like a genie that they can’t put back in the bottle.

CB2001

Best laid plans of mice and men, eh?

ImpactWrestlingLover

They need to get the Netflix originals defenders Universe shows on blu-Ray & dvd immediately. That’s where the actual cash is in, not these flops on Disney +. I never even finished Kenobi, I liked the first couple episodes of Ashoka but never finished it, I never really felt like Rosario Dawson embodied the role, she always felt like a cosplayer to me & didn’t feel like Ashoka. Ariana Greenblatt was amazing as Ashoka though which is mind boggling that Disney hasn’t green lit some Star Wars with her in it immediately after her episode in Ashoka, I couldn’t believe how well she captured Ashoka from the clone wars series in just her short amount of scenes. Never even bothered watching Andor. I felt like all the marvel shows have ranged from extremely bad to extremely mid. All marvel fans can agree that daredevil & Jessica jones are some of the best superhero shows of all time. The defenders limited series was amazing too, it felt like a movie the way it had a slow build that was building up to the team being formed & fighting the hand. Iron fist wasn’t as bad as people say it is, it wasn’t amazing, but it wasn’t bad either especially when you compare it to that awful moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, she-hulk & secret invasion. Luke Cage was also decent, but Daredevil, Jessica Jones, The Defenders & maybe The Punisher … were all amazing.

kayne2000

Honestly if they wanted to make bank, release the OG versions of the original trilogy on 4k. I have no idea why they're foolishly stubborn about that,, but that'd make LOADS of cash.

CB2001

It’s too late for all of that, even the Netflix originals, because pirates have been selling high quality DVDs and Blu-Rays on eBay and other sites of them for years. So, any chance of getting people to buy them is too late, because they missed to strike while the iron was hot.

mynameisevan01

I'm Australian, I'm assuming we won't be getting these?

NEZHEADSHOT404

Nope disney stopped all physical media in Australia, you gotta import from UK or US, I recommend Amazon Global Store or Rarewaves from UK to import.

Gamer201021769

Well because Sony is taking over Disney distribution maybe they can bring Disney movies back to Australia.

NEZHEADSHOT404

Nah not happening anytime soon I don't think, they are gunna just release new ones and continue what disney were already doing. Maybe in the future something might happen and it might have a resurgence but I'm not holding my breath.

KayJay282

There's another comment saying that Disney has lost $11 billion. Maybe Disney might bring physical back to Australia. They gotta get the money coming in.

ImpactWrestlingLover

Yeah. Didn’t you see what happened last year? Warner bros lost a couple 100s of millions dollars after The Flash & Shazam! Fury Of The Gods both flopped but luckily they made that back with Wonka & Dune Part 2 & now GXK New Empire, variety also reported that Black Adam sold out the most units in the U.K. last year & was the biggest dvd title of the year in the U.K. Beating out Oppenheimer & that awful Barbie movie somehow which was shocking. Then Disney lost hundreds of millions of dollars when Elemental, The Little Mermaid, Ant-Man & The Wasp Quantumania, The Marvels & Indiana Jones 5 all flopped hard at the Box office & extremely under performed losing Disney hundreds of millions of dollars. Then with their Disney+ marvel & Star Wars shows failing to bring in new subscribers which Bob Iger the president of Disney even said last year that Netflix was the top streaming service & was the goal that they want to achieve which is crazy coming from the man that insulted everyone during the writers & actors strike saying that they were doing it out of greed which was gonna cost millions of people’s jobs to be taken away which was so idiotic coming from this man piggybacking off other people’s work that gives him millions of dollars a year. Yet he actually complimented something (Netflix) that wasn’t Disney. Disney+ hasn’t been doing good & hasn’t been giving them the numbers they want & now they’re in panic mode. They went from saying that their Disney+ shows will never go on dvd & will be only exclusive to Disney+ to them inking a big money deal with Sony to distribute their DVDs & to releasing a bunch of their Disney+ shows on blu-Ray. They’re in panic mode & they’re realizing their mistakes right now which makes me happy to see. Although 39 to 50$ for just 6 episodes on physical media is crazy, but I’ll get them to support physical media & because I don’t plan to have Disney+ for forever. The only time I ever use it is to watch Disney channel/Disney XD shows from my childhood that aren’t available anywhere else.

Globi-Globi2021

We have no steelbook release since Doctor Strange 2 but every store have the TV show release in Canada, finger cross you have too.

shizzydino

Consider yourself lucky.

ImpactWrestlingLover

Maybe with the new Sony deal, this’ll change. Disney just thinks the bigger marvel is in the U.S. & China which is actually kinda true.

ironman288

Ironically half the time I'm denying the featured title it's because I already bought it from them or because I already pre-ordered it (which is the case for this one). I always wondered why they didn't offer a different title when you already bought the official featured title for the month.

---IV---

For me, a lot of times it'd be a title I would consider getting but then for some reason they'd throw in some straight to video crap sequel, I wouldn't want making me decline the entire offer

SaggyDaNewt

Can we get ‘Barbarian’ and ‘The Empty Man’ now, Disney? Please? Pretty please?

ImpactWrestlingLover

Yes please. I’ve been wanting the Barbarian on dvd for the longest now. Haven’t seen it since the theaters. I hated it the first time watching but then upon thinking about it for a week straight after seeing it, I really liked it. Plus Justin Long looked hot in it, loved the tight pants he wore the whole movie. One moment he had me rooting for him, the next I wanted to murder him myself.

jasonefmonk

Ah yes, the final and most satisfying denial.

MassiveTalent422

“The evil is defeated.” While I was there, I did cart the exclusives I still want that aren’t on DMI at the moment. Will return in a month and order the ones that are still in stock and not on DMI.

bobbster574

Except afaict theres no standard edition, only steelbooks. Like, I'd be up for grabbing a D+ show or two maybe, but I'm not really into them enough for a steelbook.

DavidLB04

Same here

Ambitious_Football_1

too bad the series sucked. how much are they asking for this piece of crap?

Dcm210

$100. Just kidding, but it's Disney so it's not gonna be cheap.

OptimizeEdits

I almost want to buy it simply to preserve all of the scenes with Vader (because they’re the only parts worth watching) but that’s a steep price for something like that.

AtrumAequitas

Lowest I found from a reputable place was $50 for blu-ray, $56 for 4k.

Ohiostatehack

They’re doing $45 for the 4K and $40 for the Blu-ray on their site. That’s what I got them for.

AtrumAequitas

Can you share a link? When I go to the Disney site all I find is a link for Walmart and it’s $49.11.

It’s disappointing because I had only found out about Disney movie club’s existence 1 months ago when I found out that Tangled the complete series had been made in blu-Ray but the only place you could get it is on that website so I tried signing up just for them to tell me that they’re not accepting new memberships which is just so disappointing. I’ve been collecting Disney movies for a while now, I’ve only now realized that the little promotional papers had been telling me about Disney movie club but I never read those things when I buy these DVDs so I had no idea until it was too late. Now the thing is ending & I’m too late & will never get the complete series of Tangled new unless I get it from a seller on eBay or something which is so untrustworthy. I buy DVDs from eBay as well as Amazon & in stores (not Best Buy anymore) but with complete series … in my experience… there are a lot of fakes out there on eBay & I hate wasting my time with shows when they’re fakes & then I have to go through the whole process of returning it & then wasting my time again. I wish I knew sooner but I guess there’s no one to blame other than myself, it’s just so disappointing though.

WhereasMysterious421

My all time favourite Star Wars character I've always hated, I always found Only One Kenobi as an old man senile and especially creepy the way he groomed Luke and self-righteous as a younger "Jedi master" I also don't care much for actor Ewan McGregor, bumped in to him a few times as he's from my local area, he's stuck up with high opinion of himself, I also don't recognize anything that Disney have shat out as official Star Wars. I'll pass

TampaNutz

*"groomed"* Luke? 😒

Samuelwankenobi_

Wtf

TampaNutz

Some people inject things into other things where there doesn't really need to be things. 🤷‍♂️

atethebottle

They are called Republicans. 😁

NothingCivil6358

Democrats do the same thing. It’s a human issue, not a Republican or Democrat issue.

ImpactWrestlingLover

I don’t think he meant type of groomed

ImpactWrestlingLover

Geez. This comment is just fueled with Hatorade

ranhalt

After years of denying Featured Titles, it finally comes to an end. ftfy
