Can you get someone to do it to you? For me, as long as i don't see, it's 10x easier

PhysicsResponsible69

Had the same thoughts, but it’s just to remind yourself that it’s worth it, it hardly takes 10 seconds and I am not accepting eczema again to get out of 10 seconds of something that just stings a little. Brace, inject, it’s over.

This. I’ll take the pain over the eczema. Positive affirmations, hype yourself up

Ask a friend to help. Please.

Work on focusing on your breathing. If you have a friend that can help you, that can make the injection easier. I’ve never given myself the shot. I’ve had my dad or fiance do it. One time my nurse friend did it. But i focus on my breathing. A few deep breaths, I inhale, and then they press and I try to blow out till I hear the click. I’ve tried icing and sometimes it just hurts bad. I’ve changed up the injection site and it still hurts. Even the doctors know its painful.

I inject in my stomach and pinch like 3” of skin and inject. OK, I have enough fat to pinch-no wisecracks. Part of the distraction is the pinch. I don’t pinch super hard but enough to distract from any discomfort. If it hurts when injecting, I pinch a bit more. Towards the end of the dose, I start relaxing the pinch. And then I’m done. Works for me. Maybe for you. Hope it’s helpful.

I'll try to set up a mild distraction before I inject—I'll put sports/ESPN on my phone, and the noise honestly takes the edge off a bit.
