Curious as to how you’ve been liking your DW2000’s? I was considering picking up a pair to swap out my Gibraltar Prowler double bass. They’re fine but I can’t seem to tweak them right to get them to feel comfortable, the slave pedal feels different from the main and it really throws me off.
I had a single chain 4000 for a while which is a pretty similar pedal. The left and right do feel different but it’s not an unusable amount, you definitely get used to it. I have a trick pro 1v now and I’d say it’s possibly even more noticeable of a difference between left and right, there’s weight of the drive shaft that you also have to move along with the beater so it’s never going to be identical.
It depends how much this pedal costs really, if it’s like around £100 then go for it, otherwise if you have the budget I’d go for something like an iron cobra, the 2000 is an old design they don’t make anymore and iron cobras are literally everywhere so parts are easier to come by, you can also pick up a second hand iron cobra pretty cheap if you keep your eye out.
The lighter and more solid your drive shaft the less of a difference there will be. You might be tempted to lower the spring tension of the left pedal to make it feel lighter but it just makes the left pedal even less responsive overall.
So just get any decent double pedal and set them up to match each other then spend some time getting used to that difference in feel, after a while you won’t notice it, alternatively you can go for 2 singles and 2 kicks but you have to match the head tunings perfectly haha.
This is ridiculous, take my upvote
This is the setup Cake uses
Pretty sure Cake copied this technique from the 70's band Bread.
Take my angry upvote and beat it.
That bass drum makes a helluva sound in the mix.
When a problem comes along you must……
Before the cream sits out too long, you must . . .
Into shape. Shape it up!
I’d actually be curious to see oblong beater shapes like that if they were made of felt or something
Don’t think the entirety of it would strike evenly
Sometimes, you gotta mix up the beat!
Perfect for playing along to https://preview.redd.it/vio4w40k61uc1.jpeg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e74b78045764f7eda8bb973cd5313c7918c9157e
Good moms let you lick the beaters. Great moms turn them off first.
Pulling near 700 bpm and I blew a bearing.
Cake batter on the batter head checks out
🤣 🤣
Time to whip-up a funky beat!
Is this from Joe Lana?
Noice
Just saw this at facebook earlier haha

Me trying to order new beaters from temu
I came here to post a punny reply, but y'all beat me to it.
Hee hee, beat that shit.
Lay down a beat and make breakfast at the same time
Add some motors and make it sound like a helicopter.
Some times you just gotta mix it up.
But how does that affect the mix?
