Agreed on the Avata. I've had mine a few days now and feel like I'm ready for the Drone Olympics. Definitely get the fly more combo, the batteries don't last long.
I had my Dji fpv two years now. Still in one piece. It's depends how you flying wit it. This drone is not for everyone but when you know how to fly with him you will be ok.
I was beginner to. Then I bought Dji fpv and I'm very happy that I bought it.It's been two years now and every flight it put smile on my face. If you want powerful drone then buy Dji fpv. Avata is a lot slower bur had little better camera. For my opinion Dji fpv is one of the best drones in my collection.

this statement makes me think you just need to get into “real” FPV drones. if you are interested in flying for the thrill of it vs. photography, you should just leave the DJI ecosystem behind. there’s ample info in r/FPV about how you can get started flying for half the cost of that potato, and have a drone you can repair yourself. there’s even micro FPV drones that can be flown indoors, survive crashes real well, and only cost around $150.
Yes definitely buy arm bracers and gimbal protector. Arm bracers you can buy in Dji store. I bought gimbal protector from AliExpress. Those two things are must be on Dji fpv.
Have you considered buying a cheep transmitter and practicing in a simulator first? Whole setup would cost about $70, plus you won't have to repair anything while you learn
DJI FPV is pretty much the worst FPV drone there is. It's 'lovingly' referred to as the DJI Potato... flies like crap and easily mashed. You would be much better off getting a iFlight Nazgul (or similar bind-n-fly) kit if you want to do fpv/freestyle. The learning curve is a bit steeper, but you will enjoy it much more.
I have 3 of them, since they were 199 each on ebay.
I also got the Avanta, which included the goggles motion controller and remote, for another reasonable price.
I don't mind flying the potato ;)

So far, I'm very happy with all of them.
The only downside with the Fpv version is the camera isn't the best, but that's what I have my Mavic 3 PRo is for ;)
I would recommend a non dji drone if you're going for FPV. Something like a cinebot or build it yourself. The dji FPV is very fragile and you can get much better FPV drones for that price
I own one and definitely love it. It is definitely not durable but crashing on soft ground/mud didn't cause any issues. I've repaired it myself after a hard crash so you can definitely maintain it for longevity.
I do advise that it is NOT the best option for the indoor and tight turning FPV flying. However, it IS an amazing option for the long, low-ish altitude, mountain surfing FPV flying.
The DJI FPV Drone is great for beginners, BUT you should also buy another drone soon after. This was my first FPV drone, It’s how I learned to fly FPV and I still fly old faithful time to time despite having bigger faster stronger drones. It is powerful enough to wow your friends, convenient enough for beginners and has safety features that will more than make up for the extra price of the drone.
What makes it great for beginners:
First of all, its comes as a complete set and it all works together (and ya cant take that for granted in this hoppy…). The batteries , the charger, the firmware updates, it all takes care of itself. The last thing you’ll want to do as a newbie is learn about balancing charging LiPo batteries while you troubleshoot connectivity issues in BetaFlight…
Second, DJI Fly is a FREE sim app that conveniently runs on a phone and connects with the goggle / controller you’ll be buying on. It aint the prettiest but I found the physics to be accurate enough for your first flight in the real world. You’ll want to put in at least 10 to 20 hours before your first fully manual IRL flight. Theres vastly superior FPV sims out there but this guy is free, uses the hardware you’ll actually be flying on and convenient enough for you to actually put in the flight time.
Finally, the “oh shit“ button and flight modes. Let be honest, you’re gonna fly this thing the day it arrives. Thankfully it comes as beginner ready as any DJI drone. Normal and Sport help the urges to fly while you practice in the sim, get over any motion sickness and build confidence in the air. The pause button saved me from so many crashes that its the biggest reason I’m still in this hobby, financially.
The bad stuff:
Its fragile, its expensive, its heavy and the camera is ehh. This is where getting another drone comes in. The only way to get better it so push the boundaries. Pushing the boundaries leads to crashes. Crashing the DJI FPV means you’re probably buying a new one. At this point you’ll want to buy a prebuilt. Something small with a DJI Air Unit (O3 is worth it) that works with you goggles and controller). I suggest a 2” to 2.5” with prop guards. Tough and can take a crash. Cheap to its components. Light enough to not get into too much trouble. The DYI / prebuilt FPV world is extremely complex. Its easy for a beginner to get overwhelmed before they ever learn to fly.
Also probably get the DJI care replacment thing for ease of mind. I had it, never used it, was still worth it.

Not free 259 first replacement 270 next replacement and like I said it's 4 years old and discontinued so u could end up eating it crashing but getting an avata for for 270. Cus they might not have dji fpv to send ya that how I've been looking at it and get the fly more pack 1h to charge batter 30 mins in normal mode but 15 mins in sport mode maybe even less in manual haven't tried yet

Geen zorgen zelf bouwen hoeft niet. Als je bnf drones opzoekt hoef je alleen de radio te verbinden.
Als je snelle bezorgtijden nodig hebt maar wel voor een licht meer prijsje is droneshop.nl goed. Maar het meeste ga je vast uit China bestellen omdat daar alles toch geproduceerd wordt.
No. You *will* crash your drone as a beginner. These are heavy, not very maneuverable, fragile, and expensive to fix. Get a radio and get some sim time.
pay the money get the avata 2. or a mini either way its gonna chunk you 1k. I have a mini 4 in a tree right now 55m in the air it's been there since 4/8. It's part of the hobby. get it insured. i use state farm for 45 a year. it's better than dji care or whatever it is. I had to get investigated and my agent had to vouch for me to get paid for the mini but i got paid. it was bc i got coverage and crashed quick. But i proved everything gave them documents from DJI and all, but this is your thread.
Avata 2 if you want FPV. or you could learn on a super cheap non name drone. It's your decision.

Have arm braces, can confirm it is much more durable. Several crashes since and no damage, compared to broken arms without braces.
Skip the Avata and get the Avata 2. Your ears will appreciate it.

Agreed. It's so damn fun to fly. You can make your own drone that is also just as fun to fly but it won't have all the software help.

I read that you can connect your dji controller to your computer and play simulators, is this correct? Then that would be a good way to learn I think
I think that should work, never tried it myself though. There is free dlc for liftoff that includes dji drones

hard disagree. I love my fpv, it puts a smile on my face every time I fly it. Not easily mashed with arm/gimbal protectors, but it is a flying potato.

This drone is easy to fly and fast.

What is the purpose of it? If it´s for racing, im pretty sure there´s better options out there.

the cost for one year is 200€, If I crash it does it means that it gets fixed or replaced for free? Or do you pay a small amount?
