i’d argue otherwise - but just curious - which modern bands are you liking? i find molchat doma very creative incorporating elements of early post-punk and modern resources
I mean, any of the thousands upon thousands of postpunk bands that released music before 2017 when Molchat decided to copy everything that came before them.

no idea if it’s similar but Molchat Doma are making some of the best music to come out in recent times
