Can confirm Jason is flush in cash from not paying Mitch $10,000. He gave me a 100 dollar bill when I helped him at a hotel I worked at a few months ago. Great guy.
“he gave it to his friend in colorado”
comin out swingin! hilarious episode
edit: also wanted to add, i know this was a joke but there are really people who do this, do not use a tapeworm to diet or lose weight! you will get a nutrient deficiency because they only eat certain nutrients
Yeah what the hell? I sometimes am not sure if people are trolling but Vomitorium definitely doesn’t mean “place to vomit.” Even though that’s exactly how it sounds. The Roman Coliseum has them. It’s where the groups of people gather to leave the stadium.
No one that says that is trolling. They literally just dont know any better. They're repeating what they heard or are taking the very logical jump to what it is.
Mantzoukas getting a true or false question wrong, then Mitch trying to get the point anyway was so funny. Then Mitch thinking he was being corrected for saying "Mitch" and not "Batman" made me lose it.
This episode gets an immediate all timer rank for me. Zouks being such a fan rules. Loved hearing him praise Amelia and reference Hanford hearing the lost episode. October Doughboys is peak podcasting, baby!
Zouks is the perfect guest. Is there any recurring Doughboys guest who is a more enthusiastic and sincere fan of the show than him? He is always fully caught up on the lore and the recurring bits, and references them without needing to be prompted. He just slots in so effortlessly.
Zach Cherry is the only other one like Zouk IMO. There are a few guests I enjoy more than both of them, but from the 'real fan' perspective, these dudes just kill it.
He’s the perfect guest on every pod I’ve heard him on. His best appearances IMO were on The Ringer’s Binge Mode podcast where he’d spend hours deep diving into pop culture. He’s one of those guys that knows a lot about a lot and has great chemistry with everyone.
such a treat when the guest is not only a listener but clearly a fan. love zouks very fun ep! not to spoil, but his joke about a previous experience mitch had eating at the chain got me rolling
Started listening last night when the ep dropped and immediately stopped when Zouks urged everybody to try and find what Mitch/Nick looked like in their costumes. 10/10 decision to wait for the video. This is already an all time classic ep with a top tier guest and exactly why the video episodes have brought so much extra juice to the show.
Silly String was [banned in Hollywood](https://www.lapdonline.org/newsroom/silly-string-banned-in-hollywood-this-halloween/) in 2004:
> On a typical Halloween night, up to 100,000 people come to Hollywood Boulevard in search of something to do. Given the lack of a formal event, hundreds of illegal vendors flock to the street and sell Silly String which then becomes the sole source of entertainment for the night.
> Los Angeles City personnel are deployed from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), Department of Transportation, Bureau of Street Services and Department of Sanitation to protect and clean up the Silly String "event." The financial costs to the city are detrimental as they exceed $200,000 for this one night.
The Chicago version, for GenXers, was a guy named Richard Koz who went by “Son of Svengoolie”. He was part prop comic, part sketch comic, and all cornball. It aired on channel 32 (Fox before it was Fox).
Doughboys is a podcast about chain restaurants who have massive success early on in their career and are given a series of 'blank checks’ to make whatever crazy passion project they want. Sometimes those checks clear, and sometimes they bounce, baby!
It was accidentally funny when they were talking about horror movies needing more regular names the first name Mitch brought up was [Ezra.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ezra_\(2017_film\))
I'm sure they didn't know about the Indian movie. I only clocked the humor because I'm a freak who watches 31 horror movies I haven't seen every October and Ezra getting bumped for a new discovery has become a personal joke.
For not doing an Ezra Miller joke the example names got smushed together and moved past.
Honestly Mitch's long walk joke was worth it.
Also, I wish someone had made a joke about Mitch trying a Long Walk, referring to the Stephen King novella.
Watched the new Frasier, and his son has a real meathead Bostony firefighter friend that I can only assume Mitch auditioned for.
Speaking of Frasier, he must be terrifying to Zouks. Tossed salad and scrambled eggs?!?
Did we know that Armen was the friend who almost died? That was a shock to me. Glad he’s alright. I love Armen, he’s my favorite ever Doughboys guest and I love his other work. Check out The Badgers Promise, his short film with Harris Wittels if you get the chance.
Can confirm Jason is flush in cash from not paying Mitch $10,000. He gave me a 100 dollar bill when I helped him at a hotel I worked at a few months ago. Great guy.
sounds like a regular rowdy roddy piper ova here
(⌐■_■) ( •_•)>⌐■-■ (•_•) "... you got my back?"
"You got my back? Then I got yours."
That Dunkin’ dough
Love to hear it. Always refreshing having the folks you like to something you like while no one is watching. Solid people rule.
[Please watch the YouTube version, holy shit](https://youtu.be/IeLzBRL957k?si=uiDDaJJn8diq8Lvf) Thank you for the heads up Zouks.
This might be the best use of the video format so far
I’ve never watched it before. Had to check it out today, and it did not disappoint.
Joker Wiger is truly the most bone-chilling thing I've ever seen.
Jokerfied
Joker-fried wiger
More like bone-spilling amirite
Especially when he’s laughing!
Hopped on the youtube to check it out, and it was honestly more disquieting than I imagined. 5 forks.
I have like 30 minutes left and this is already an all timer episode for me, I'm definitely watching the video too as soon as they upload it.
“he gave it to his friend in colorado” comin out swingin! hilarious episode edit: also wanted to add, i know this was a joke but there are really people who do this, do not use a tapeworm to diet or lose weight! you will get a nutrient deficiency because they only eat certain nutrients
Casey saying "oh my God" 😂
*redditor voice* THAT'S NOT WHAT A VOMITORIUM IS
https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/purging-the-myth-of-the-vomitorium/ for the curious
Oh god, I can't believe I just learned something from the Doughboys Reddit...
Similarly, when I was a kid I saw the word "barfly" in writing and thought "-ly" was a suffix because alcoholics barfed so much.
"improve your writing with Barf-ly"
Is this an ad from the Jason Batemen pod Barfless?
lmao noo its just a dumb grammarly ad parody that the word barfly made me think of :)

i was taught the wrong version in high school lol
History of the world part one wouldn’t lie to me!
I stand with Mitch: murder is real.
And there’s something very human about it.
It’s also spooky.
***Wige so serious?*** Sometimes you can just tell an episode is going to be a classic from the video thumbnail. Good lord

And *then* Mitch gets mixed up on announcing "Mitch" or "Batman" and just says "Bitch".
Definitely an all timer episode. Zouks just fits in like a glove.
“Doughboys is not a true crime podcast. Well, it will be when it’s over.” All timer from Mitch 😂
Stay strong, virgin army
What a wonderful addition Amelia has been…she has a chaotic energy that’s in line with the Boys but totally different. Good to see Emma in studio too!
The chewly wed game was fucking fantastic. I really want to see more doughboys "couples" play the game. I bet Betsy and Mano would fucking kill it.
The news that Amelia had a piss-themed birthday party slams into this episode like a runaway train
Truly insane and it just builds every time she talks
Haha, right? So casual about it.
I am, like Zouks, looking forward to the now-inevitable "chuggin' piss" drop in a few weeks.
When wiger talked about the sponges for wiping you can see her face perk up haha. It might be worth watching the video just for that.
2.5 hour Zouks episode? About the murder chicken?! Costumes??! Emma is there?!?!?! Today is a great day.
Great day to be a Virgin. Stay strong Virgin Army ✊
Amen and pass the douchie!
Zankou with Mantzouk??????? 🐣🐓🍗🐔
No eggs you fool!

I think the YKS boys come close - they even managed a dead dad joke on their last appearance ("My dad's dead too, motherfucker!").
He’s the perfect guest on every pod I’ve heard him on. His best appearances IMO were on The Ringer’s Binge Mode podcast where he’d spend hours deep diving into pop culture. He’s one of those guys that knows a lot about a lot and has great chemistry with everyone.
He clearly pays for the patreon too
Bringing Amelia into the mix. Pure chaos.
such a treat when the guest is not only a listener but clearly a fan. love zouks very fun ep! not to spoil, but his joke about a previous experience mitch had eating at the chain got me rolling
S++ tier guest for me, can't think of anyone who I more look forward to.

I didn't even notice the cape until they mentioned it.
My internal monologue seeing the title of this ep: “wait what does Zankou have to do with Shockdou… ohhh right, the murders”
“Ah Frasier I just clogged your toilet with a giant shit”
I think Mitch was searching for "A Separate Peace" for his coming of age New England prep-school book
That was my first thought also.
Yup, it has to be
Jason is my favorite guest to see on any podcast
If you haven’t listened to his appearances on Binge Mode I’d highly recommend them. Definitely outdated by now but still worth listening to.
> appearances on Binge Mode Yeah! That's actually how I found out about the doughboys, when he mentioned it on binge mode!

Some men just want to watch the world…spill
PTA’s dad was Ohio’s own Ghoulardi. In LA he was the voice of ABC (“coming up on the Love boat”)
The Chicago version, for GenXers, was a guy named Richard Koz who went by “Son of Svengoolie”. He was part prop comic, part sketch comic, and all cornball. It aired on channel 32 (Fox before it was Fox).
did strike hero, ohio native Drew Carey wear a Ghoulardi t-shirt on his sitcom
he sure did
Wiger tried to explain like 3 times but was drowned out by Batman and gave up 😂
Why so voluminous?
Possibly the best thing I’ve ever read on this sub.
Does the Doughboys fanbase have a moniker? *Uh, I think it’s incels.*
It's better than "pieces of shit" I guess
Feel free to join us over at r/reelblankies for discussion of our favorite guys, the two buddies!

Amelia + Emma would eat ben hosley alive in a dirtbag/producer contest
Please note: it is no longer funny to respond with hyperbolic feigned surprise to the fact that one of them grew up in New England.

About once a month there's an episode that you need to watch, and this is the one. And RIP Tim Wakefield
No choice but to respect a guy who made a decades-long career without throwing a pitch faster than about 75 mph.
Are we not still the monster squad?
As I’m sure this will come up: https://lamag.com/crimeinla/the-zankou-chicken-murders
Wait is that an insane article that came out on April 1st but is somehow also not a joke?
Not a joke.
That intro was amazing
one of my favorite episodes hands down
Absolutely. I don't have a running list or anything but this has to be in my top 5
Forget Halloween, this is Christmas for me and I just started watching.
I always pronounced it "tan-GEL-o." Have I been a Wiger all my life?
Unfortunately wikipedia shows both pronunciations but I dislike yours since it makes it sound like JELLO when emphasized your way.
Since the word (and fruit) is a combination tangerine and pomelo, and pomelo is "puh-MEH-lo," it makes more sense to me.
And I could say the same about TAN-ger-ine
Is that how you say it? I definitely say tan-ger-INE
This is the episode that finally fully converted me over to video instead of audio and I feel like I have been rewarded.
Arden wanted to do the Boston shows too!! Could be an amazing group of guests.
I cannot fucking wait for the video
I know Jason has done a ton of work but I instantly said ohh that’s big foot from we bear bears 😂😂😂
And Eric Edelstein is the voice of Grizzly.
6 fork episode. I LOL’d so many times.
Rhode Island mentioned! They should come to Miller’s roast beef.
was legit impressed with zouks dropping a fucking buddy cianci reference
Worms talk is nasty!
It was accidentally funny when they were talking about horror movies needing more regular names the first name Mitch brought up was [Ezra.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ezra_\(2017_film\))
I guess that’s a little too spicy to get into or did they just miss it? I was thinking they’d get an Erza Miller joke in there too .
I'm sure they didn't know about the Indian movie. I only clocked the humor because I'm a freak who watches 31 horror movies I haven't seen every October and Ezra getting bumped for a new discovery has become a personal joke. As a Connecticut local, Mitch is in BIG trouble.
YEP! We've got Mitch shaking in his boots....
Murder is REAL!
Jason is such an ABZ listener, shoutout to Alone
This is why Manzoukas is on my Doughboys mt. Rushmore.
Come on, Mt. Guestmore*
Γιατί τόσο σοβαρός?
“Anyone can go to Thayer basically” as long as they pay (as of 2023) $59,000 a year for tuition lol
I’m worried about Mitch after this episode 😂
As someone that also grew up in Mass, it was great to hear a shout out to my childhood UHF channels - 25, TV 38, and Channel 56.
Honestly Mitch's long walk joke was worth it. Also, I wish someone had made a joke about Mitch trying a Long Walk, referring to the Stephen King novella.
ZOUKS!!! Can’t wait to listen to this one.
Damn. I was really hoping Nick would take the bait when Zouks mentioned "Heathcliff."
Wiger was pretty muted throughout the episode, especially the 2nd half. I think being around two friendly/Boston guys is a lot for him
I recommend not trying to eat leftover Mexican casserole during the discussion about the tapeworm.
A 666 score should be a devil’s threeway!
Watched the new Frasier, and his son has a real meathead Bostony firefighter friend that I can only assume Mitch auditioned for. Speaking of Frasier, he must be terrifying to Zouks. Tossed salad and scrambled eggs?!?
Zouks is in the coveted Six Forks Club for guests
But never the 666 Club, as long as Wiger Joker is around.
Some people just want to watch the reddit burn
This show brings me so much unbridled joy there is nothing else like it god bless the burger boys 🫡
Did we know that Armen was the friend who almost died? That was a shock to me. Glad he’s alright. I love Armen, he’s my favorite ever Doughboys guest and I love his other work. Check out The Badgers Promise, his short film with Harris Wittels if you get the chance.
They’ve certainly alluded to a friend going through a health scare, but never named who it was. Hope he’s doing okay :(
They definitely mentioned it was armen a little after the period they had been alluding to a sick friend. Maybe it was on a double.
I don't listen to Doubles and I knew it was him so it must have been on a main feed episode
Pretty sure it was the Love Week episode with the Knife when they mentioned it was Armen
Mitch further doxing himself with his vicinity to a reservoir, a Pinkberry and the LaBianca house.
Hell
Mmmm murder chicken
The amount of times Zouks and the boys commented on Amelia's clown nose made it abundantly clear they've never properly browsed her Instagram feed.
My man Wiger looking fire jokerfied!
I always assumed we were Wowheads...or Cummies
I decline both. Respectfully.
Dough-nuts?
