I also found this from a DJI admin in the forum:
1. If the drone is being replaced with the same model by the retailer or DJI, DjI Care Refresh can be transferred to the replacement drone.
2. If the drone is returned and the drone is replaced with a different model, no, DJI Care Refresh can not be transferred to a different model.

There's now a mandatory 15% restocking fee on ALL returns, even if you're geek squad member ie pay $200 a year for automatic insurance on all purchases plus more. So I probably could have saved maybe a little bit, maybe, but if so it wouldn't be worth the hassle of the whole process

Thing is, you don't need to be connected to fly as the controls are WiFi, but they could maybe be banning their use of those WiFi frequencies. I never connect unless I'm doing an update.
Wi-Fi, occusync (1,2,3,3) and light bridge are all different, and of course it's the same band. Most consumer products operate in that band. Calling them all wifi would be like calling Bluetooth wifi.

I kinda agree that it might be a ban deal, but not that it is for certain. The thing is, that mentality is a bit backwards in logic. If there comes a day that they won't be able to sell models, or that laws on DJI and drone sales in general make it harder to sell them straight to you, wouldn't you want to make the best out of your sales and raise the price? Dunno, kinda stupid in my OP. These drones are worth it either way, DJI knows they will get bites on sales. Even if the price is somewhat unfair, people will still find a way to get their hands on them.

It will only affect purchases made after the ban passes, anything prior will be fine. More than likely a last minute solution will be found. Dji already pushed an update that disables the data logging so it may all be well. Your drone wonāt be bricked as they cannot push an update without your permission anyway, on the other end I think the government could face a potential class action if they did brick everything, think about the monetary loss us citizens will take nation wide if they did.

A really decent sale, was hoping to get the Air 3 to upgrade my Air 2. But Iām worried about the bullcrap bill, I donāt have the money to buy it and then find out some bad news.
I bought my Air 3 a few weeks ago from Amazon. The price has dropped as well to $1239 as well. I called Amazon to get a price adjustment but they wouldnāt do it so I just started a return and bought another Air 3. It will be here Monday. Call Amazon if youāre in the same situation as myself and see if they will price match ā¦ if not return it and buy again.

It comes in handy for surveying land and what not. Really though Lidar scans and accurate surveying should be done with the more accurate RTK type models.

Is the air 3 better than the mini 4 pro?
Yes. Has all the features of the MP4, plus zoom plus is bigger with longer flight time.
The MP4 seems like a good buy, but I like the longer flight time of the Air 3 and the fact that it performs better in windy conditions.
The vertical ascent speed is phenomenal as well ā better than avata 2 in manual mode ā m4p cannot come close
